We just stayed the 1 night at this hotel. Loved the decor. Room was huge for 2 adults and 2 children. Comfortable beds. Big bathroom. Very impressed. I think biggest room ever that I stayed in. Didn’t use pool or restaurant onsite so can’t review them. Great location and felt safe. Would return. Oh it’s a dog friendly hotel also which is a bonus. They have little treats for dogs at the entrance.

First let me say everything was great about our stay until check out and waiting for our car to be brought from the garage via Valet. I was Friday told by the Valet Ben who was exceptional as was Keifle, to call down to the desk before checking out on Sunday and we will bring your car out of the garage and to the front d.oor. Here is where the disconnect started, we checked out at 6am called down to the desk asked for the car to be brought around and help with our luggage from our room. Neither was done, no one ever came to our room to help so we took our own luggage down in 2 trips and then in the lobby afterchecking out waited 15 minutes in the lobby for our car its now 6:25 AM we checkout at 6 yet our car is STILL in the garage. I Go to the desk to ask whats the issue and the help told me sir they dont know how to get into your car. I had to go myself led by security to the seemingly sub basement to get my car. I have a Tesla and the Valet staff parked it and charged it, again Ben the Valet thank you, but as it turns out the Valet staff does not start until 7AM so the maintenance employees they sent to bring the car had NO idea how to use the tesla key card to enter the caror remove they charger. We got a late start on our way home because of this disconnect within their company.

I never imagined this would be the hardest hotel review I would ever write. Our trip to Washington, DC, at the end of May and beginning of June 2026 turned out to be the last happy journey of my husband’s life, making this stay a memory I will treasure forever. We decided to travel to US only four days before our departure date from Egypt and booked the Royal Sonesta Dupont Circle which proved to be an excellent choice two days before our flight. We enjoyed our stay so much that we even discussed returning to this hotel in case we decided to revisit Washington, DC in the future. Public transportation like buses and metro station are in a walking distance zone. Pharmacy and supermarket are very close too. Several dining options are available in the neighborhood. Upon arrival , Keanu the Front Desk Officer warmly welcomed us and allocated a high floor room with excellent amenities. Then we explored the pool and fitness center where all facilities were available including towels and water. I would only suggest to keep pool warm or heated because that day the pool was really cold. I am grateful that we passed by upon arrival as I captured several wonderful videos of my husband enjoying the pool after long flights and practiced at the gym; those precious memories, I will cherish forever. The hotel’s décor is elegant, modern, and beautifully maintained, creating a fresh and welcoming atmosphere. During our stay, the hotel was undergoing renovation work in the reception area. Despite this, the construction never disrupted our experience, and the staff continued to provide outstanding service throughout our visit. The room was spacious, modern and comfortable, had all amenities and facilities. Thanks Martha our Housekeeping staff who did an excellent job every day, keeping our room clean and tidy and consistently restocking the coffee, tea, and milk capsules. My only suggestion would be to provide more toilet paper as backup. The only disappointing aspect of our stay was breakfast. We ordered two omelette dishes and croissant through room service, and unfortunately the croissant did not taste good. If I was not feeling lazy that morning, I would have preferred my usual morning walk to Le Pain Quotidien which is few minutes from the hotel to enjoy freshly baked pastries and coffee latte. Finally, my sincere thanks to the Front Office team Keanu, Ray and Elias, the door and bell staff who used to greet us everyday and Martha our Housekeeping member for their professionalism, kindness, and dedication to ensuring an exceptional guest experience. That trip to DC, our stay at Royal Sonesta hotel, and the entire experience became one of the most meaningful chapters of my life. I had the privilege of spending the last few happy days with my beloved late husband Dr Mahmoud El Shennawy before returning home in Egypt in such beautiful and welcoming surroundings, creating memories that I will cherish forever. Thank God.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at the Sonesta, and I can’t say enough great things about Bruce and the entire staff. From the moment I arrived, everyone made me feel genuinely welcome. The customer service was exceptional friendly, professional, and always willing to go above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. Bruce truly stands out as an incredible leader. His dedication to guest satisfaction is evident in the way he interacts with both guests and his team. You can tell he takes pride in creating a positive environment, and it shows throughout the entire hotel. The staff consistently greeted me with a smile, responded quickly to any questions, and made my stay comfortable and enjoyable. It’s rare to find a team that works together so seamlessly while making every guest feel valued. If you’re looking for a hotel where you’ll be treated with kindness, respect, and outstanding hospitality, I highly recommend the Sonesta. Thank you, Bruce, and the entire team, for making my stay such a memorable one. I look forward to staying here again in the future!

The hotel and rooms were fairly standard. Breakfast was not included and was served à la carte. The location was very good, close to Dupont Circle. The staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, my room had an unpleasant view of a brick wall from the window. There are some pics from breakfast.
