It pains me to write this but I am in shock. This hotel is not up to the Salamander standards. I was so disappointed. As I walked into the unattractive small lobby with the tiny bar/restaurant, I could not believe it. I was expecting Class, style, elegance, and excellence. No! I stayed at a 3 star hotel in an awesome location. There is no real hotel restaurant, except Dogon which was pure excellence. After staying many times at Salamander resort in Middleburg, I was so excited to stay at the DC location. I feel like crying it was so bland, with unloved rooms and a dirty balcony with many spider webs and no cushions on the chairs, for a balcony suite that cost over a thousand dollars a night. I was happy to pay because it was Salamander and I knew it was going to be amazing. The business center computers did not work, cords were hanging everywhere. I couldn't believe it. Lastly, the room service was horrible and the chef and room service manager was very rude. My lamb came to me raw and I asked for medium well. The spa looked nice. I would not stay there again if they gave it to me for free. Trust me I paid a big bill for a horrible stay. The front desk staff were amazing. The valet was upcharging for valet service. They charged my guest $96 and $86 because they didn't know what the valet fee cost. No class. I came to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the African American Museum, and my stay here made an otherwise great trip very stressful and sad. I would've left but, I could not receive a refund for my two night stay. I have pictures, I just don't have the heart to show them online, but management saw the pictures.

I had a great stay at the Salamander! From check-in to check-out.. zero issues. Room was clean and quiet. I had an actual adult tub! Naturally, I went right down to the spa to buy bath salts. (Tip for those with Resy credit benefits on your CC- this triggered a Resy credit.) My highlight was the night I had dinner at the hotel restaurant. Simple food -chicken, mashed potatoes, broccolini- prepared so well. It was the best meal for the cost I had in DC that week. My server was Elsa and she was ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Truly went above and beyond and saved this girl after a rough work week. Thank you for care, Elsa! Every staff member I came across was helpful and pleasant ( shout out to Tavi and I wish I got the name of the person who checked me in on Tuesday afternoon- she as great too!) Easy walk to the Wharf and over to the Jefferson Memorial, surrounding parks, and the rest of the National Mall. I wholeheartedly recommend staying at the Salamander!!

I booked the Salamander for a solo staycation for my birthday and had an amazing time from the very start. Mr. Jeremy Edwards was such a pleasure when he checked me in. I used my Amex Platinum benefit guaranteeing early check-in, late check-out and room upgrade if available. Jeremy upgraded me to a BEAUTIFUL suite room which was a wonderful birthday gift. I ordered room service using my $100 property credit and the food and presentation was great. Upon check-out Jeremy checked on me again to ensure I enjoyed my stay. LaNetra checked me out and was great as well. The customer service in the hotel is unmatched. Thank you to everyone but especially Jeremy and LaNetra for ensuring a smooth check-in/out. I will definitely be returning in the near future.

I had a wonderful stay at the DC Salamander. You’re treated like royalty. LaDownah at the front desk was very helpful and sweet. Room service was great and my room was lovely and comfortable. All that combined it was a lovely stay.

Not up to the standards of our stay at previously booked luxury link hotels. No in room coffee bar, no mini bar, blamed everything on Covid, and they were a new hotel, we would not stay there again. Definitely not 5 star, location good, no ice maker you had to call for it.
