Marriott did a great thing by allowing this hotel to become part of the Marriott brand. This place was amazing! The room was well-appointed and very comfortable. The mattress was a little softer than I prefer, but overall, it was still a good night’s sleep. Having both a tub and a shower was a really nice touch, especially after walking around all day. Being able to soak in the tub and rest those tired bones was definitely appreciated! The hotel is pretty close to everything if you’re into walking. Being near the Wharf was great, with plenty of food choices. Some can be a little pricey, but the options were excellent nonetheless. We also got to enjoy the DC Jazz Festival, which was a great experience. The overall vibe of the area was fantastic. The staff at this hotel was amazing—from the front desk and bellman to the restaurant and housekeeping staff. Everyone was polite, helpful, and very attentive. You could tell they genuinely cared about making your stay enjoyable. I only had one disappointment. I was given a city-view room on the 5th floor, but unfortunately, the building directly in front of the hotel is taller than five stories, so there really wasn’t much of a view. That was a little disappointing, especially since the room was specifically listed as a city view. Other than that, I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely consider staying here again. If you’re looking for a place in DC where you can walk to great food, enjoy the Wharf, take in some jazz, and come back to a comfortable room with a staff that treats you right, I’d definitely put this hotel on your list. Sometimes it’s the little things that make a stay memorable—and this place got a lot of those little things right.

I’ve been going to this spa since it was a Mandarin property and it is still worth the visit! A special shout out to the front desk and Stella for her massages and facials!!

Beautiful hotel in a primo location. Night time was quiet, we heard no sounds of the street or even other guests. We had a lovely water view. The bess and pillows were very comfy. We loved the soakng tub and spacious shower. Cleaning crew did great with actually replacing washclothes and towels. This was the first time I didn't have to ask for more washclothes from any hotel! Well done! The breakfast is a buffet on weekends and national Holidays and is a VERY nice buffet. If you get a free breakfast with the booking they give you a $100 credit for each morning (for 2 people). Our totals used up all of that- so it is pricey but very good! We only used the shuttle service once since it doesn't begin until 10 AM and that didn't jive with out itinerary, but it was really nice the one time we used it. They have a nice walk path down to the warf. Shout out to Dolly and Raul, who went above and beyond to make our stay special!

The Salamandar hotel vis British Airways as a 5* hotel, on arrival we were told it wasn't a 5* The next day we were told the hotel had been rebranded and was now a 4* Potomac Marriott Hotel On check out, the hotel informed us that the stay had not been paid for even though I had book and paid via BA. I had to pay USD2916 we were told this was an error and the money would be paid straight back into our account on arriving home we found the money had not been paid back to us, we tried to contact the Marriott for help to get our money back, Marriott were not even aware of the hotel and had no contact details for it. My wife was ringing the hotel trying to get the money repaid to us with no joy Over the next few days we involved our back who informed us that the Potomac had since tried to take varying amount of cash from our account totally £10,000. After 10 day the money was returned to us, we still had not had a reply from Marriott despite them opening 2 cases of complaint for us which they have never followed up on. We assumed the that was the last we would hear from the hotel or Marriott as it was obvious that neither were concerned about our complaints. Then yesterday I noticed in my bank account Potomac Hotel had taken £1778.78 from our account, on checking again with the hotel saying that our stay was never paid for so they had taken the money for it. I contacted British Airways who confirmed that the hotel had been paid, they attempted to contact the hotel to proved our stay had been paid for, but the hotel refused to speak to them saying they were dealing directly with us To make matters worse BA were not even aware that the hotel had even changed hands, they are now also attempting to have the hotel pay us back and have my card details removed from their database. But as of today the Potomac have attempt to take in excess of £12000 from my account and are not able to provide us a reason why and currently we are £1778.78 out of pocket

I had a wonderful facial at the spa at the Potomac Hotel in DC. Stella is a fabulous esthetician—professional, attentive, and incredibly skilled. The entire experience was relaxing and rejuvenating, and I highly recommend Stella for anyone looking for an exceptional facial!

Not up to the standards of our stay at previously booked luxury link hotels. No in room coffee bar, no mini bar, blamed everything on Covid, and they were a new hotel, we would not stay there again. Definitely not 5 star, location good, no ice maker you had to call for it.
