Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square

Great location and wonderful service. Very attentive staff. A European feel. Easy walk to main sites, downtown meetings, or metro. Great restaurants a stone's throw away.

The decoration style is my favorite color scheme, cream, white, and black, luxurious room accessories, reasonable price.

Hotel presents itself as a luxurious 5 star place, but reality is far away from there... 1. Weak barely working shower, loud & again weak AC 2. The night we checked in person on reception was quite blunt and not friendly 3. No sets of toiletry. Everything in dispensers, which is sooo cheap 4. Must admit bed is comfy and room is quite. 5. Location is fine, close to white house 6. Room just old fashioned and outdated. Old furniture, hair dryer... Overall, I would not recommend to stay there as place is not aliged with 5 start standards, does not provide any luxurious experience, Room and facilities are old and low quality. So no value for money that you are paying.

The Sofitel treated us professionally, helping us with any needs we had. Their rooms are very nice, with huge towels. The rooms were quiet, and we rarely heard any of the other guests.

My two adult daughters and I stayed at Sofitel DC in a (2) double bed room. The room was super clean, and very well appointed with a spacious bathroom and desk area. The property is extremely close to all of the major DC attractions, most especially the White House. We appreciated the lovely breakfasts at their main restaurant, Opaline. While a double sink isn't available, the bathroom amenities were nice and included a decent hairdryer and lots of counterspace which is important with three women sharing it! We had our laundry done by the hotel and they did a great job, with everything being returned on time. The only downside was that the restaurant operating hours were rather limited, and room service closed early. There are not any convenient places nearby to just grab a quick bite after hours, so planning ahead was helpful. To help, the hotel did offer a virtual mini bar - 24/7 you can ask the front desk for candies, chips or so a few different drinks/pre-made cocktails. We would definitely stay at Sofitel again, and recommend it to our friends.
