Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square

Nice hotel. A little run down. Gym is very disappointing. The only 2 machines were out of service. Not what I would expect from a Sofitel

I was checked in by Jekhi(not sure how to spell his name) who’s customer service was excellent. The check in experience set the tone for a pleasant stay. The room was clean, bed was comfortable, and the shower was hot & high pressure. The hotel is in a perfect location.

Great location,Very easy walk to local attractions. Very friendly and attentive staff. Rooms large and well appointed.

Who is leaving these great reviews? This hotel should not be in Amex hotel system. With White House being fenced off you can’t walk through the square so you are quite far from eveything except the renwick and Mikner We didnt get early check in or late check out. The $100 could not be used toward 85 dollar daily parking snd their restaurant was closed til 4 after 11 am. So no way to spend 100 food and beverage credit. So expect 270 bill for parking and tax for 2 nights if u stay there making it completely unreasonable. Holiday inn would have been better. The rooms are on the smaller size, the fridge was barely cold, no Netflix etc on tv and everything is extra. No pool. The gym is small. One workout machine Bowflex type. Room smelled moldy from carpet. But beds were comfy and great shower Attitude galore at check in and check out from front desk. One says one thing another says another. It didn’t feel high end. I get better service staying at hotels on i95. Valet was great though and so were people in Opaline. This is not a special hotel worth insane money they charge. Save your money. Stay closer to national mall. Stay at Hilton or Marriott. We paid over 2000 for 2 rooms and regret it. 40 in some urban tax. Meanwhile our friends stayed at intercontinental two blocks down. No such tax. Pool on roof and room 4 times the size.

This hotel is right near the White House and close to the Washington mall. The place is clean and comfortable. I asked for an air purifier, and when they realized they didn't have one they purchased one for me to use. I was very impressed.
