Great stay at the Thompson
Great location. Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable rooms! Only problem was lack of bartenders in the lobby bar. Service was slow when the bar was very busy

Clean, modern hotel in great location. Stay away from rooftop bar when it comes to food.
Very courteous and friendly staff. Checkin and checkout seamless. Room was very nice, clean, comfortable, and quiet. Modern but with a retro type feel. Great location in the Navy Yard. Easy access to restaurants, grocery, and metro. Decent value overall. Rooftop bar was very cool. Great bartenders and good cocktails, especially during happy hour. Only concern was the rooftop bar food. It was inedible. Smoked wings were not “smoked”. They lacked flavor and were slimy. We ordered the seasonal pizza which was terrible. Too much cheese, soggy crust, bad ingredients. The mini sliders were basically rubber meat with too much mayo. Bottom line: we would definitely stay here again but only go to the rooftop bar for the view and the drinks but stay away from the food. Basically microwave food bought in bulk.

My new favorite hotel in Washington DC
Fantastic hotel in the Navy Yards area, which was quiet, charming, and convenient, with some great nearby restaurants. Room was beautiful and modern with excellent amenities and great lighting. Loved the breakfast in the restaurant. Nice bars and common areas as well. Required taxi/rideshare to get downtown, but rides were 10-15 minutes and for the quality and value, this was a perfect choice. A+ service all-around, but a special shout-out to Jennifer at the front desk who anticipated my needs before I even asked!

Fabulous stay! Excellent hotel with superb staff! Highly recommend! Rooftop bar is wonderful! Breakfast each day was super yummy! Bellman was incredibly helpful! Front desk staff went above and beyond! Housekeeping was quick and thorough!

BEWARE: Naked women pictures in the room
The room contained naked pictures of women on the wall and in a picture frame. This is unacceptable and definitely not appropriate if you are staying here with children.
