Terrible experience. Booked this hotel to be next to our venue. When I called to enquire and ensure parking, staff never informed that they didn’t have assigned parking despite advertising valet. The valet out front took cars that were not staying at the hotel. We missed half our concert. Staff instructed us to find “just find street parking”. It took us over 2.5 hours to find something. I called management and was not helped. We were stranded to continuously drive our car until I was able to purchase a parking spot for 180 dollars. Would never recommend this hotel.

This should not be a 4 star hotel. The rooms are dated with splashes and scuffs on the walls and furniture, there is no seating area, and the lighting is abysmal. There is no pool, spa, hot tub. There is 1 restaurant that serves in 3 locations. The same wine, drink, food options in all of them (depending on time open). They have less than 11 wines total on the menus, from 6 brands, only one of which is premium, and it’s a champagne. They also have Trinity Oaks for happy hour on the rooftop. The liquor selection is small but adequate. This is disappointing as I lived in DC for 5 years a few blocks from this hotel (until 3 months ago) and in my earlier year the bars were well stocked and had good wine options and were often very busy. There is an entire wine cellar in the restaurant that is completely empty as they “were not selling” however the restaurant that was in the Surveyor’s space was bad when the Celler was stocked and it was heavily old world wines (the neighborhood is younger professionals) and seemed to be one persons preferences and not catered to the clientele as well as it could have been. Upon checking in they acknowledged I booked through Amex and had additional perks due to it being a “The Hotel Collection” hotel, however, I was not given much information (what time is breakfast, where can I order/get it from, what do I get, since its included) and I was not given a room upgrade (upgraded rooms were available online upon reaching my room). I checked in around 6pm as there were flight delays. The housekeeping staff was still cleaning rooms on the 5th floor. The doors/walls are thin. The vacuuming and conversations could be heard from in the room with the door closed, every day of my 4 night stay. All of the doors slam shut, but don’t actually latch without an extra push/pull. It’s very loud and housekeeping lets them slam constantly. On Saturday at 1:30p, I tried to call for room service. They never answered despite 5-7 attempts to reach them. I then called guest services to request a clothes steamer and was told one would be sent up. I inquired with that person about room service and he said “oh they are so busy, the only way to get food is to come to the restaurant” annoying, and one more reason they should not be a 4 star hotel. I went down and the restaurant was empty. Like if there are 50 tables 3 had people at them. While I get they may have been slammed earlier that morning, they were not at the time I was calling (10 mins before going downstairs). I ordered my food to go and it was made quickly. I came back to my room and went to open the door and there was a man coming out of my room. I had the “do not disturb” sign on the door. I asked why he was in my room and he said he got a ticket to fix a cabinet. I told him I did not request that and that my do not disturb sign was on the door. He said that it doesn’t matter, if there is a ticket he has to enter! What!?! He then told me some story about fixing a drawer that was broken on the “steamer” cabinet. I told him there was nothing wrong with that (I had not touched or opened it, so I can only speak from external visual appearance). I realized there was likely a mix up with guest services and instead of sending up a steamer for clothes they sent a maintenance man for a steamer repair. The man was still standing in my doorway and I asked him to please leave and said it’s not appropriate to enter a guests room when the do not disturb sign is on the door. I called the front desk to let them know what happened and get the clothes steamer and the agent apologized repeatedly and offered me Hyatt points. I don’t care about these points, I care about hospitality, respect for space, and the paid for luxury. Those things are severely lacking. They did give me a credit to use at the bar for the trouble (I already had credits from my Amex, so I bought some new friends drinks on the rooftop). The final bill was incorrect and several breakfasts were charged, dispute that being include with my stay. The manager on duty did correct them. All in all, it’s a good 3 -3.5 star hotel, but don’t go into it expecting 4 star. Location is fantastic.

The hotel is in a great location for baseball, restaurants and is easy to walk to everywhere. Metro is near by so that you can go to the National Mall and Museums. The staff is very friendly and the rooms were clean. However, the room was super cold and there are no extra blankets. I felt it was too late in the night to call anyone to bring me one. I would stay here again.

Efrem was amazing and went above and beyond! The location and views were pretty nice. I loved the room. The size was ample and the furniture was practical. The bed was very comfortable, but the pillows were the best! Stayed at the Park Hyatt right after and even though both were down pillows, I preferred the firmness of the pillows at The Thompson. I found them and bought some!

This hotel is awesome. Felt like a luxury hotel for a reasonable price. Friendly staff. Clean. Great location for attending a Nationals game.
