Step foot in our luxury hotel in Washington D.C. and discover an urban resort located along the banks of the Potomac River. Here, you’ll uncover a hotel unlike anything in Washington D.C. — a place where modern design blends with an iconic landmark to redefine luxury. The Watergate Hotel's flowing avant-garde architecture was designed by Luigi Moretti to emulate the mighty Potomac, and its stunning new Ron Arad-designed interior lives up to the building's original elegance. Complementing the hotel's new, modern feel are the retro-chic staff uniforms, made by Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant. The Watergate Hotel takes classic elegance and bold mid-century modern design and adds all of the extravagance and warmth of contemporary luxury. This one-of-a-kind hotel pays tribute to its own storied past, while paving the way for a new chapter to be written.

It was tons of fun to stay at the legendary Watergate. After a huge renovation the hotel is beautiful -- and clearly appreciates (and jokes about) its historic nature. The staff were very kind. A special shout out to Sherry and Johanna at the front desk who made everything very pleasant. Food and drink at the whiskey bar were excellent. All told I had a great time.

The Watergate is a beautiful property with clean, spacious rooms. It’s convenient to DCA and only a ten minute walk from the Foggy Bottom Metro station. But the true beauty of the hotel is the people. The word “helpful” is not enough to describe the outstanding customer service, in particular at the front desk. There was one woman (and I wish I’d asked her name so I could add it to this review) who went above and beyond more than once to make my stay better. And the room key that says “No need to break in” is perfect!

This was our family’s first visit to Washington, DC, and we had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff’s warm hospitality made our experience especially comfortable. I would like to give special recognition to Sarah at the front desk, whose professionalism made our check-in process smooth and efficient.

BEWARE!!!!! I paid for a queen double bed WITH a balcony view. I was charged for this as well. They provided a full sized bed with no balcony view. When I asked this to be corrected they denied my request. This hotel will not deliver the room that you paid for. I would NOT recommend anyone stay here. Stay anywhere else that is nice. The hotel staff are not helpful. This place looks and smells run down. We came for historical reasons They could care less. I also saw 6 rats 🐀 climbing in and out of their garbage cans while I was eating dinner. Absolutely disgusting. 🤮 Don’t waste your money with this place. They have an F rating from Better Business Bureau for not handling customer complaints. I should have done my homework before coming here.

Great location to explore all of DC. Service from the staff was excellent. The bar’s were disappointing either were not open or had products out of stock. Bed was comfortable and shower excellent. All in all though no major redeeming features.
