An iconic Los Angeles hotel once referred to colloquially as the Riot House for its rock & roll parties hosted by the likes of Led Zeppelin, The Who and The Rolling Stones, Andaz West Hollywood has evolved into a sexy urban oasis with a touch of vintage glamor. The modern boutique hotel is nestled between the Hollywood Hills and the world famous Sunset Strip and features complimentary amenities such as a welcome beverage, wifi, and an Andaz Lounge (lobby) offering snacks and wine tasting each evening from 5-7 PM. The hotel boasts Los Angeles' highest rooftop pool; Riot House Restaurant & Bar; and creative event spaces fit for small meetings and large celebrations.

The gym was better than expected. But overall I wasn’t not impressed. It needs a renovation they’re were holes in the curtain. And the shower missing door had water go everywhere.

Trendy type of hotel, which probably wasn't the right fit for my family. Everything felt laid back as opposed to an establishment going out of their way for a professional and upscale experience despite the $500 per night charge. The bathroom might have been the worst I have ever had. Not only was it tiny, but the shower had no door and no curtain, just a glass wall that covered only half of it. With the lack of water pressure due to California law (not the hotel's fault) and the hot water going in and out intermittently, we would get cold in the shower. Terrible experience that made me want to leave. Breakfast buffet was $50!!!!! And was little more than the free breakfast at most Marriott and other Hyatt properties. Pre-made eggs, bacon, and sausage, horrible potatoes, pastries, a couple cereals, and fruit. Felt bad. Bed didn't have a traditional headboard. I found myself at night hitting the cold, hard shelf where the headboard should be. Bizarre. Ice cold water in the lobby was refreshing every day. We appreciated the "free" chips and snacks there as well. I say "free" but I assume it was part of the $40 destination fee we were saddled with every day. Not the worst place I have ever been, but we certainly would never go back.

With the transitioning weather the hotel turned the master heat on. So at night when we tried to turn the temperature down to sleep. It was pretty warm in the room. In their defense, we like to sleep it with it very cold. It was All-Star weekend so traffic was pretty rough on Sunset Boulevard, so entering and exiting the property was a little bit challenging. The property itself was very nice. Great location. Had a little sticker shock at $75 a night for parking.

Andaz is in a great location with a lot to do close by. The room was spacious and the rooftop pool was great. Everything was clean with a nice ambiance. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Constant availability of snacks, coffee, and water was a nice touch.

Never disappoints. We have been coming here for over a decade to celebrate special occasions. A wonderful Valentines Day weekend! This is always a special place for us.
