Reviews for Andaz West Hollywood

A gym-specific review

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 13 hours ago

This review is only focused on the gym as there is very little info about what it looks like. It’s a small-ish space but with good views of Sunset Boulevard and the Pendry Hotel across the street. The gym has a couple of Peloton bikes, four treadmills, a full complement of dumbbells and some kettlebells. It has a few machines as well. Not really good for anyone wanting to do yoga or workout with barbells, as those aren’t part of the equipment set. When I came in the first time, there were 6 or so people working out and it felt crowded. Later, with 3 people, it was fine. It’s by no means a great gym like in other hotels. But it’s functional enough.

Front desk staff was lovely, hotel rooms are dated

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We had a nice stay at the Andaz West Hollywood. The staff was absolutely lovely—friendly, helpful, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. We were pleasantly surprised to be able to check in early, which gave us time to enjoy the rooftop pool (a definite highlight with great views and a relaxing vibe). That said, the room itself was a bit of a letdown. The layout felt awkward and the space didn’t feel particularly functional. While it was clean, the furniture felt dated and a bit worn, and overall the room could really use a refresh to better match the modern vibe of the rest of the hotel. Still, the great service and rooftop amenities made it a worthwhile stay—but we’d love to see the rooms brought up to the same standard.

Star Treatment

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

The Andaz team made our stay so special. They made my 10 year old daughter be in shock from the balloons, card, stuffed animals, and treats they provided. They were so friendly and I love the app where you can request things you need that we forgot to pack. The Mezzanine is a great place to hang out and relax. This hotel is hard to beat!

Fine but worn out and tired, needs to be refreshed

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Hotel staff was professional and nice. Room was clean but very worn out and tired. Minimalist, like a worn out Hard Rock Hotel style room, not luxurious at all. Lots of dings and paint chips, and the bathroom door (barn style sliding) was completely torn up on the bottom and looked like a cheap hotel door. Strong disinfectant smell in the room. Had two queens with a 'sunroom' which is a slight alcove overlooking Sunset Blvd. Earplugs on the bedside but windows were enough to keep out street noise. Insanely high parking fee, $75! I would look at other, less beat-up options for the price. As Hyatt Globalist member, I thought Andaz was one of their nicer level properties but this one needs to be refreshed (I'd lose the carpet in the rooms and do wood or faux wood). Didn't stay for breakfast but had an excellent take away latte. Would be worth it to fix it up with the location.

Do not stay here

Although lobby and pool are main points of interest regarding this hotel, rooms are old and outdated, our room upgrade smelled of mildew and old carpet. Bathroom was tiny and had awful ventilation. Would not return or recommend.
