We have been enjoying the charm of The Inn since Fall of 2023 and each Season is delightful. The locale on the Sounds is amazing and only eclipsed by the quality of the team. They consistently exceed our expectations from the warm greeting to the fond farewell. We'll be returning after the renovations have been completed and so look forward to doing so along with the reopening of La Plage.

My husband and I spent the night of October 21 at the Inn at Longshore, to break the trip from Cape Cod to DC. The Inn is located between the beach and the golf course. It had very limited parking for Inn guests. It was supposed to have a pleasant outdoor environment for the guests, but it was impossible to take a walk without walking on the golf course (not permitted) or in the street. The premises were full of cars, loud people, and cigar smokers. The rooms are on the second and third floor without elevator. We were on the second floor in room 213. The room and bathroom are outdated. The room temperature was high and the dated A/C unit at the window did not work but produced a terrible smelly air. The window of the room looked out at the kitchen roof. Some kind of ventilation system on the roof produced a continuous and very loud rumble noise. When I complained about the noise, the person at the reception stated that there was no maintenance staff on the premises and suggested to unplug the A/C unit in the room. The A/C unit in the room was already unplugged and was not the source of the noise. I complained again in the morning as it was difficult to sleep with that noise and the person at the reception stated that they could not do anything as I booked through booking.com and that I could only write a complaint to booking.com. The continental breakfast was okay. We had dinner in La Plage restaurant of the Inn. It is strangely managed. It was Monday early evening. I asked to book a table with water view. Initially they said that it was not guaranteed but eventually after further discussion we got it. Food was good but overpriced. Service was initially difficult but then okay. I would never come back to this Inn and/or restaurant.

This is a very lovely place and all that is advertised is actually true... staff is very nice and without any warning we were able to check in early. The pool is walking distance but part of community so a $10 fee is imposed but it is lovely with a nice river breeze. Food is available for lunch within walking distance of pool as well. There is a restaurant on premises but it is not affiliated with hotel. Bar is excellent, food is okay but pricey for portions.

On the water’s edge and part of a Country Club, with golf and tennis courts. Great water view. Updated Inn with old and new furniture. Restaurante and wedding venue. No thrills breakfast. No elevator at the Inn. Small town nearby. Nice quite day at the Inn.

The Inn at Longshore has a charm, warmth, and beauty rare in our times. The owners have been wise to maintain its look and sense of history while providing updated amenities; spotlessly clean, spacious rooms and bathrooms; and comfortable beds. The setting is stunning, from the drive through the original stone posts, down the tree-lined driveway that winds through the greens of the golf course, to the welcoming historic inn. With water views and easy walks along the shore, it is sheer pleasure to stay here. Also, for those seeking a venue for weddings or events, we have enjoyed both here. Our daughter chose the Inn at Longshore for her wedding, and, several of her friends, having experienced the inn's hospitality then, booked their own weddings there as well. Our wedding experience was exactly what one would hope - beautiful, smoothly run, delicious food, and a joy in every way. Many of the staff have been employed at Longshore for years - which says a great deal about the management and the atmosphere they have created for everyone involved. During our April stay, my husband and I had dinner at La Plage, the restaurant adjacent to the inn, and that too was exceptional. I am not exaggerating when I say our dinner was one of the best we've had at any restaurant....and again, the staff was efficient, friendly, and engaging. I gather changes are coming to the Inn and I hope they maintain the physical features, staff, and atmosphere that has made our experiences at the Inn at Longshore so meaningful.
