In a stunning alpine setting in Whistler, British Columbia, The Fairmont Chateau Whistler elevates the traditional mountain retreat. This elegant outpost takes the best of Canada's amiable hospitality and combines it with landmark luxuries such as a Vida Wellness Spa and a Robert Trent Jones, Jr. golf course, dramatically carved out of the slopes of the Coast Mountain range. Also among the delights are fine northwest cuisine and classic après ski, and an innovative selection of venues includes The Wildflower and The Mallard Lounge, with its private cigar room and fire pit-dotted terrace.

We were in a Junior Valley Suite for three nights at this property. The surroundings are gorgeous, and the hotel is a convenient walk to the village. Though this property feels slightly off-brand compared to the 15+ Fairmonts we’ve stayed at. The lobby & public spaces are dated, and the service levels just okay. Be aware that the rooms don’t completely resemble pictures online - particularly the bathrooms. Our bathroom was smaller and outdated. There are only four elevators, which meant we needed to que in line every time we went to our room. The spa is excellent, as is the nightly live music in the bar. While nothing was terribly amiss, it was all a bit mediocre, which is unusual for the Fairmont brand.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler for our first trip to Whistler. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous - but more importantly - the staff go above and beyond to make you feel very special. We stayed in the Penthouse Suite in Fairmont Gold. What a special two-story room with perfect views of the village and mountains. The Fairmont Gold lounge was exquisite - the food amazing - so many choices for breakfast and dinner canapés - with very attentive staff. The Fairmont Gold Concierge team were wonderful - assisting us from the moment we made the reservation and quickly addressing all my questions and making arrangements for our trip. Special Thanks to Ian, Jacqui and David. We would not stay anywhere else if we are able to return to Whistler. The hotel is a very special place.

First time in Whistler for the summer season and decided to stay at the Fairmont this time (instead of the main rival we stayed at last time), really, really glad we did, although it looks like a huge hotel it really doesn’t feel it, everyone is super friendly and helpful, the food was excellent in the restaurant, bar and at breakfast and room service staff are super friendly. We loved the pool too and especially enjoyed cocktails there. Special shout out to the staff at the hotel entrance especially Harrison and the Norwegian guy (cant remember his name but he had only been with you two weeks), for looking after us so well, always getting us to reservations on time and picking us up, nothing was too much trouble, they made us feel really welcome. Can’t wait to come back.

Probably not the best choice for us as an older couple. It’s a very large, family-oriented resort hotel, busy at almost all times, the pool areas understandably popular with little ones so noisy and very active, but bars also very full and hard to catch service. Staff a little hit and miss - bell and transport teams excellent, front desk crazy slow and housekeeping patchy - turn down happened once in three nights. Hey some nice touches - the complimentary car transfers to town restaurants are great and a little birthday cake delivered unrequested and without fuss was kind. Overall, though, probably not the best choice for us.

Where do I even begin...this is an absolute first class hotel in beautiful Whistler, BC. From the moment we pulled up until we departed on day five, we were treated like royalty. There was not one person either behind a desk or counter, waitstaff, bellhop, housekeeping, etc that did not make us feel welcomed and tended to...like they were so glad we were there. We stayed on the 8th floor which was the "Gold Floor" and I'm guessing it was my inept ability to book a reservation that turned out to be one of the best parts about staying at this hotel. Don't know price difference but you have your own restaurant that is included in your nightly stay that provides delicious breakfast, small snacks, charcuterie, desserts, etc. So if you wanted to really be taken care of...stay on the 8th floor!! Don't know any of the Fairmont properties around the world but this one would make me consider always staying at one if available in the area we traveled. We ate in the Mallard bar and all the meals were delicious. Ambience was fun and upbeat with live music. Grounds were meticulously kept. We did the Peak to Peak gondolas located 2 minute walk from Fairmont. Amazing bike and hike and walk trails right out the back door. The hotel has a shuttle that will take you around to the different areas of Whistler Village. Also, it's a very family friendly place...observation as it was just me and my husband. I can not say enough good things about the Fairmont Chateau Whistler ...so if you are looking for a destination place...this hotel in magical Whistler is where you want to call your home away from home!

I have stayed at this resort on a few occasions over the years and it has always been a delightful experience. The staff are always attentive and make you feel special. Requests and inquiries are always dealt with in a timely fashion and the services are some of the best in the world. The Vida Wellness Spa is just a cut above. It is probably my favorite spa. The resort is in such a beautiful location. Vancouver and Whistler will be home to the 2010 Olympics coming soon, and our somewhat "best kept secret of Beautiful BC" will be out! Probably going to Whistler in August again and will probably stay at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler Resort again.
