Good but doesn't live up to the name

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

While we had a great stay at Pan Pacific Whistler Village Center in a comfy room with (fake) fire place and mountain view, enjoyed the free breakfast and the spa, don't be fooled, this is not a hotel even though charging as one. This is a serviced apartment block operated by a hotel chain, but misses many of the things you take for granted in a hotel with this name. There is hardly any communal areas and no proper lobby, just a single sofa, and there is no concierge. But on the other hand, guests will not have to carry skis to/from the gondola every day as each room has a ski locker in the sister property just by the Excalibur Gondola and there is a public parking just across the street. Every afternoon there is also free hot chocolate and cookies served in the breakfast room. But that's about all. But all of Whistler is just steps away if you want more.

Good hotel, terrible customer service at front desk

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

The hotel's location is excellent and the rooms are decent enough, but the customer service completely ruined the experience. I needed a copy of my folio showing the payment method for reimbursement purposes — a straightforward request — and the staff went out of their way to avoid helping, hiding behind the excuse that "the system didn't allow it." They didn't offer any solutions, saying that it wouldn't be possible. To make things worse, when we had to briefly return to the room for a forgotten item just five minutes before checkout time, they threatened to charge us for an entire additional night if we didn't retrieve it before the clock struck checkout. The breakfast, though included, was poor enough that we chose to eat elsewhere every morning. While the property itself is fine, the consistently unhelpful and rude staff means I won't be returning.

Great stay at the Village Center PP

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We have always stayed at the Pan Pacific Mountainside but this was last minute and was full. Front desk staff/concierge, breakfast staff and valet were all great for our stay. Location is good and the key for skiing is having the ski lockers at the mountainside property. The breakfast buffet was perfect for good, quick access to food before getting out to ski. The 2 BR unit is well equipped and very nice.

Comfortable apartment hotel in great location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We recently stayed at the Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre and found it to be a very convenient base for a ski trip. The location is excellent—just a short walk to the gondola, shops and restaurants - which made getting out and about for a day’s skiing or evening dining very easy. Our one‑bedroom apartment on the lower level was quiet and surprisingly spacious. The décor is starting to feel a little dated, but the comfort and space made up for it. We appreciated having a well‑equipped kitchen, with an oven, dishwasher, full‑size fridge and a filter coffee maker, which made self‑catering simple. Ski storage is located at the sister hotel a few minutes walk away, right next to the gondolas. The communal laundry room was clean and well set up. One thing to note for winter visitors: there’s no dedicated boot or glove drying area, so bringing your own boot dryers to use in your room is recommended. Breakfast was included, but the selection didn’t change from day to day and was quite limited, so we mostly preferred to prepare our own breakfast in the room. The only minor frustration was that only one lift was in service during our stay. Fortunately for us, our room was just one floor above the lobby, so we mostly used the stairs to avoid a long wait. Overall, the Pan Pacific offers an excellent location and comfortable apartment‑style rooms. It worked really well for our ski trip, and we look forward to returning there in future.
