Reviews for Kingsmill Resort

Great family vacation at Kingsmill

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

We have been coming to Kingsmill for family vacation since 1996. We absolutely love the convenience to Busch Gardens and colonial Williamsburg. Took our 2.5 year old grandson for the first time in July 2025 - he absolute loved the pools. If you buy a park package you get shuttle service included ti and from the park - we enjoy that convenience to avoid the long lines to get in. The resort is as beautiful as ever and well kept. The rooms and amenities are beginning to show their age but the resort is constantly renovating areas so trying to stay on top of the age. We absolute love the cottages in the James and look forward to our next visit when the second grand baby turns 2.

Best birthday getaway!!

The River Pool was so much fun, and the food service was exceptional. The grandkids especially enjoyed being shuttled around the property in a golf cart! And everyone we encountered was friendly and accommodating.

Gross - save your money and look elsewhere

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Resort is dated, service is terrible, food is gross. Came for a sporting event, and got suckered into staying here due to proximity to event. Wish I had read the prior reviews - for $425/night, this place does not meet the bar for a four star “resort”

The marina is amazing!!! But be prepared to spend $$$

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The marina was the best part. It’s beautiful, full of life, and Issac is the best. He’s the manager down at the marina and he was so friendly. He held great conversations, lots of amazing advice. You can tell he loves what he does and cares for his customers/employees. They had s’mores and a fire every night until 10! Him and his marina are the reason I would think about coming back. All the pools are clean and weren’t over packed. The entire staff was very friendly and respectful. There’s lots of signs to point you in the right direction as well as The resort map is so easy to read. The views are beautiful from every part of this resort. But unfortunately there are some things I didn’t appreciate. Our room was kinda dirty (spider webs and cob webs everywhere as well as a hornets nest on the porch), and doesn’t have a microwave so you can’t take home left overs that need to be warmed up. Also this is a place to come if you have LOTS to spend and if you do you’ll have an amazing time here! . The spa, rentals, and most activities are gonna be a few hundred. The breakfast buffet for two people was over $50 and it’s the same stuff at the free hotels except they can make you an omelet. And a smedium pizza that fed two was $30 after tax. It’s also completely cashless even tips aren’t accepted in cash. I saved a lot for this trip but still couldn’t afford most of the things they offered unfortunately. I did like this place a lot it has a lot of pros. But I just feel like there were better resorts out there for $650 for the basic room, 2 nights. But as I said the marina was the best part dont miss out on that. And the spa seemed amazing but they were booked until 3 days after our stay so I would book ahead. I had a great time but spent most of my time outside the resort finding cheaper alternative to food and little fun unless I was at the marina.

Very outdated and watch out for fees

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My family and I have been visiting for many years, and unfortunately, this location has deteriorated. To begin with, the shuttle service to Busch Gardens and Water Country now charges $12 per person for a round trip, whereas it used to be complimentary. The resort grounds appear to be poorly maintained and neglected. Please be aware that during the booking process, the price displayed online does not encompass a resort fee of $49 per night. Therefore, exercise caution as this will accumulate. Not worth the cost!

Super Super Super service from the staff members we encountered. This is what brings us back twice a year. We LOVE the service.

My family and I recently returned from a 5 night stay at Kingsmill Resort. Our experience was terrific. The resort offered great tennis, golf, fishing, etc. -- so much to do even with a day or two at Colonial Williamsburg and the parks, that we were tempted to stay an extra day... I would recommend this resort without qualification to friends, family and to my company for sales meetings.
