Could improve

Fun for families. Nice lazy river. Need to clean rooms better(very dusty). Needs a working keurig. Needs extermination. There were spiderwebs everywhere; couldn’t hold broken stair railings. Wasp nests in stairway & on our balcony that prevented us from enjoying the balcony.

So much potential

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Visited with family-including 2 grandchildren. I always like to start with the positives: Resort: really is beautiful. The grounds are very well maintained-really beautiful!! Cottage D (our cottage)- very, very nice! Could be better stocked with pots and pans that are not old and ruined-but other than that, I do not have one single complaint. However, at almost $1700 a night with taxes and fees note the cons closely. Views-were incredible, saw a lot of wildlife-and we really enjoyed it. River Pool- We really enjoyed this. Our grandchildren loved it. Staff/guards/etc. all very nice and helpful. Courts- super nice clay courts. Golf Course-only used the driving range. Really nice!!! Game Room-kids loved it! Marina: did the Smore's with fire pit. It was the best part of our trip-and the girls working there were the nicest/most helpful people we met during our stay. Now the not so positive/cons. Based on the below-this was a one and done for us. So much potential-but management does not care about the problems. Check-In: Girl that checked us in- she was extremely rude. No information provided about the resort. Handed me a map and told would be texted when room was ready. Brought back some luggage to store a bit later-they took my luggage, wrote my name on it, no tag given back. At 4 pm I returned to check on room-room now ready. They almost seemed bothered I was checking on it. Gentleman gave me my key-NO INFORMATION on resort. I now was tired and just wanted to get to my room so did not think to ask-and as with the girl-he was not the most friendly/helpful either. Asked me for my bag check ticket -which I was never given. I walked behind the desk myself and grabbed my bags myself. No offer of assistance etc. When I texted the person who texted me and said to text if any Qs- got a response that the questions I was asking would be as on the sheet I was given at check in. Had to explain that had I been given a sheet, I would not be asking the questions!! QR codes on TVs for info do not work, phone extensions did not work for reservations/questions etc. Restaurants: Pool: not good The Landing on the water: When we tried ordering food (this is after drinks received), tried to order 4 things-after we asked for each one-the server shook her head and said-"no, I would not order that-it is not good". Happy with her for being honest. The food was cold, not good and not served as ordered. Housekeeping Called to have beds made up and linens switched out. Told they do not do that for the cottages. (at $1700 a night? -this is not an Airbnb) Next day-housekeeping shows up-wants to do it. Told them we needed 20 min as people were getting dressed. Said they could not do it then b/c they were running behind. Called the next day to see if they could do it that day-someone told me that yes, I had been misinformed when I originally asked and was told incorrectly cottages do get service-but then told they were understaffed and could not do it. Check Out Received my bill and in looking it over noticed they double billed me for each nights upgrade-fee and taxes listed each night twice. I had to point it out. I also voiced a couple things (very nicely) when asked me how the stay was. He could not make eye contact with me. Never apologized for anything. Said he was glad I told him of the problems b/c otherwise you would not know. They should know because other reviews have the same complaints I have. Credit Card Fee-absurd that they charge a fee to use a credit card at checkout-however you could not pay cash anywhere at the resort.

KingsMill Resort - Book elsewhere,

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I am writing to formally log a complaint regarding our recent stay at your resort. This was hands-down, one of the worst resort experiences we have ever had. Throughout our visit, we faced a continuous series of service failures, errors, and neglect. Every time we raised an issue, we met with a generic "I'm so sorry," but no meaningful action was taken, and we received absolutely no compensation for our extensive inconveniences. The issues began before we even arrived. Completing the mobile pre-check and requesting an early check-in proved to be a complete waste of time. We arrived on-site at 11:30 AM, yet our room was not ready until 3:45 PM. To make matters worse, there was a major mix-up with the two adjoining rooms we had specifically booked. Furthermore, two of the three additional gift baskets we ordered were incorrect. When we finally entered the rooms, the issues only multiplied: • Room Maintenance: Both TVs had to be reset immediately because the screens were too dark to see. The outside patio was filthy, covered in dirt and cobwebs, and clearly had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. • Linens & Amenities: Linens for the fold-out couch were missing. When we requested them, it took an excessive amount of time because the first set delivered was the wrong size (too small). On our second day, we had to actively request basic toilet paper because new rolls were not provided. • Inadequate Supplies: With three adults staying in the room, we requested 15 additional coffee pods on the second day, but we received only five. • Health & Safety Hazard: At 8:00 AM, we placed a trash bag outside our door for pickup, precisely following the front desk's instructions. After three follow-up phone calls and a personal trip to the front desk, the garbage was finally picked up around 8:30 PM—over twelve hours later. By that time, rodents had already begun tearing into the bag, creating an unacceptable sanitary issue. • Poor Communication: We were handed four tickets marked "Internet" with zero explanation. No one at the front desk bothered to mention that these tickets were also required to access the indoor pool. Using paper tickets for pool access is an absurd policy; our room keycards should have been more than sufficient. • Sub-par Dining: Our dinner at the Marina was incredibly disappointing. We ordered two portions of the Fish and Chips, and the batter inside the fish was completely raw and uncooked. Additionally, the restaurant had extremely limited options for gluten-free meals The poor service extended even past our departure. Six hours after checking out, I still had not received my receipt and had to call the resort back just to get a copy of my final bill. We paid for a premium resort experience and instead received a weekend of constant micromanagement, layout errors, unfulfilled requests, and safety hazards. Given the sheer volume of failures during our short stay, a simple apology is entirely insufficient. I expect a formal response addressing these issues and significant financial compensation or refund for the extreme inconvenience caused to my family

Super Super Super service from the staff members we encountered. This is what brings us back twice a year. We LOVE the service.

My family and I recently returned from a 5 night stay at Kingsmill Resort. Our experience was terrific. The resort offered great tennis, golf, fishing, etc. -- so much to do even with a day or two at Colonial Williamsburg and the parks, that we were tempted to stay an extra day... I would recommend this resort without qualification to friends, family and to my company for sales meetings.
