Below are the words in an email sent for the attention of the manager but that has not been acknowledged or responded to. Good afternoon We have had a very good three nights staying at Cape Lodge. It was a wonderful experience until last evening (Thursday) in the Restaurant which was very disappointing. This email reiterates what I told the Reception lady this morning. As ever, the food was excellent. However, the service was very poor: - The service was very slow - The waiting staff were very unprofessional and disorganised. They spent a lot of time talking to one or two tables but ignoring us and, I am sure, other tables - After waiting for ages, we had to ask for the dessert menu. Having eventually ordered our desserts, we were then asked by two members of the waiting staff if we wanted the dessert menu! - The coffee that we ordered was not delivered as requested - There was an error on the bill when it was presented. The above was in sharp contrast to the excellent service when we had dinner on Tuesday and at breakfast. I hope that these comments are helpful.

This lodge offers tranquility with a 5-star restaurant, for a small group of travelers. Excursion locations like Hamelin Bay (friendly stingrays swim between your feet) or vine tastings nearby. The staff are taking care of every need and the quality of the rooms is outstanding. This is quite reasonably priced for the luxury it offers. Highly recommended.

There is absolutely nothing to criticise other than your room balconies or room patios which are absolutely filthy , dirty, unkempt and unclean. Everything else was wonderful.

Reception and staff were lovely, friendly & helpful. Room was comfortable, although dated. The access to the room was extremely dirty, flies and dead bugs on the stairs and window sills, these were not cleaned for the duration of our stay. Breakfast was very good, a serviced starter & main course. Delicious. We had a set menu dinner on our first night this too was exceptional. The gym ….. was disgusting for a 4-5 star establishment. A room the size of a postage stamp fitting one treadmill and one static bike and no room at all for anything else. The Pool ….. we were not advised that the pool would be out of order due to required repairs and maintenance !! The 1km walk around the lake/pond was access-able Altogether disappointing

The staff are very professional and friendly. The Lakeview Room 10 was not luxurious. Chipped cabinetry, defrosting flooded fridge on arrival. Dirty seating on a tiny viewing platform, overlooking lake. Semi open bathroom with bath in view from tv seating area. One 3 seater was a very shabby couch, additional seating consisted of a hardback type kitchen chair. All a bit depressing. Our experience looked up when we sampled the food which was superb albeit minuscule. Included afternoon tea, although beautifully presented were in fact canapés 3 tiny savory and 3 sweet. Not a scone cake or sandwich in sight. The grounds are beautifully maintained.. It gives me no pleasure to state that value wise the 2 night package for around $1500.00. was abysmal. Living locally I could not recommend Cape Lodge to visiting friends and family.
