Belmond Governor's Residence

The Governor’s Residence is one of those places that really stays with you. It serves as a perfect escape and a quiet spot right in the middle of Yangon. The grounds are incredibly well-maintained and beautiful. One of the best parts of the stay is the wooden bridge. Every time you cross it, it feels like you are stepping into a different world. It is the perfect place to find some peace and quiet without leaving the center of the city. The pool is beautiful and large, great for swimming or just chill out. The service is great, with the staff paying attention to all the small details that make a stay comfortable. The food is another high point. I was really surprised by the breakfast. They have a lot of options, ranging from high-quality international dishes to sophisticated versions of traditional Myanmar breakfast favorites. Everything is fresh and well-prepared. Internet connection is great (it never failed to me for 5 days that stayed) and a particular highlight was to work, read or just release from the verandah. I highly recommend this hotel for any traveler. It is especially perfect for anyone looking for a special experience that they will remember long after their trip is over.

A perfect hotel. Everything about it ... quality, serenity, relaxation and brilliant service, always with a smile. From its beautiful garden to its luxuriously comfortable beds, it is a haven in an incredible city. The staff are as good as you can find at any 5 star hotel...and better than many 5 star hotels that I have stayed in. Jude at Reception was wonderful, but so are they all. Thank you.

I had an amazing stay there. warm and thoughtful hospitality, with wonderful staff who went out of their way to help and make sure my trip was hassle-free. Especially Maggie and Jude, who, among many other things, helped purchase my bus ticket when it was inconvenient for me to do so as a foreigner. i was tremendously grateful. The food and cocktails were outstanding—the chef and mixologist are truly talented and deserve a 5-star-plus rating. Highly recommend!
