The Grand York

Lovely hotel but very date in areas. And the heating is on full blast 24/7. I asked a staff member a question and they couldn't understand or speak English???? I asked someone else and they were the same. Room wasn't very clean either. Food was ok but not 5star

This hotel is exceptional absolutely nothing is too much trouble. They have completely exceeded our expectations on every level. We stayed for one night, had afternoon tea and used the spa. The room was perfect, spotlessly clean and so comfy. We were upgraded as we had stayed before and our bags taken to our room. We were called when our room was ready. The afternoon tea was the best we had exceeding the ritz in quality and service. The bar service was spot on and cocktails perfect. What absolutely stood out to me was the welcome especially from the concierge at the front of the hotel. We had valet service and received 5star welcome and service. We can’t wait to return and do more classes at the cookery school. Thank you fantastic team 👍🙂

I booked my parents in as a treat for their Golden Wedding anniversary after looking at various other locations/hotels and I'm so glad I picked here for them. My parents thoroughly enjoyed their stay and said they've never been to a nicer hotel. They were so happy with everything, their room, food, and staff who were all helpful, professional, friendly and personable. I found Customer service brilliant when booking and making arrangements for them. My parents now want to return to the hotel and after hearing them rave about it, I may join them. Thankyou for making their special anniversary so memorable.

Fabulous stay for mums 80th, gluten free option for afternoon tea and breakfast were plentiful. Staff very courteous. Valet parking certainly made things much easier. Little luxuries in bedroom , robes ,slippers, chocolate truffles, coffee machine just fabulous.

What can I say? Upgraded by Ibis Style to the Grand, due to delayed refurbishment. Thank you for this great experience. Right by station - plus point. Friendly, greeting from professional doorman and reception staff. Explained everything available in hotel and made us feel so welcome. Hotel interior was spacious and inviting. Room was luxurious looking proved to be just that. Breakfast was served by efficient, friendly and very professional staff. It was best hotel breakfast I have ever had (and I used to be a sales rep. staying all over the UK). Complementary truffles and shortbread were delicious! Take swimwear for the complementary daily hour in spa! Staff greeted us warmly every morning and every time we entered or left hotel. I think I might pay that little bit extra next time so I could stay here again!
