Fabulous stay at the Grand
Another great stay at the Grand, nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are all extremely helpful, polite and very well dressed. We stayed in a classic room which was very well appointed with everything needed for our two night stay. Lovely big comfy bed and pillows. Great bathroom with big fluffy towels and plenty of hot water. We were able to access our room early - another bonus. Amazing breakfast, all the produce was high quality and very tasty, lots of choice. Will definitely return and highly recommend

Great Hotel
Great hotel at a great price! Spa was fantastic and the room was beautiful. Fantastic location, york was fantastic, lots of places to have food.

A stunning hotel and spa in the perfect location
A stunning hotel and spa in the perfect location. Delicious food and a vast drinks and wine list in both The Rise Restaurant and 1906 Bar, we didn't get to The Legacy Restaurant but maybe next time. On arrival the door staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the hotel has a lively friendly atmosphere. The newly opened spa was amazing, the treatments were great and good value

Stunning but spa-radic service
The history, the building, the spa Sunday morning was bliss - was fully/over booked on the Saturday though (not a lounger available nor a peg for robe etc.) Room was a treat and staff were helpful and so lovely, as I’d heard so much about. However, with so much experience you’d like to think the processes were well-practiced and seamless by now but as part of the Winter Eclipse package the bill came back wrong at the dinner. Was eventually sorted but then they tried charging again upon checking out. This hassle isn’t 5 star behaviour - get the processes in order so it’s smooth and enjoyable experience for all concerned, I’m sure the staff don’t enjoy the extra workload either.

A five-star experience
Our short stay at the Grand was perfect from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The staff could not have been more helpful, our suite was spotless and much more than we expected. The buffet breakfast was extraodinary and catered for all tastes (though the coffee wasn't strong enough for me as I prefer an Espresso). The Grand is a very walkable 5 minutes away from York station and 10 - 15 minutes away from York's many attractions. All being well, we will return in June for another break.
