The Grand York

This was our second visit to the Grand Hotel and it was superb in every aspect. Beautiful room , lovely food and very friendly, professional and helpful staff, I would like to mention the reception team in particular, including Antonia, who were so kind and caring. Looking forward to returning soon

Absolutely first rate hotel and amazing staff. Everyone we dealt with, from reservations ahead of arrival, to receptionists, doormen, managers and cleaners was fantastic. We stayed in a Grand Heritage suite which was huge and tastefully furnished. Our little boy loved the space to run around and play - and the welcome cakes and treats were a lovely touch. Staff always remembered our son’s name whenever we returned to the hotel which he loved! We would recommend this hotel to anyone and will be returning in late October and at Christmas when I’m sure the hotel will look and be just as great. Thanks to everyone.

My partner and I stayed at The Grand last year to celebrate his birthday and it was so good, we decided to return again to celebrate the occasion. It can sometimes be the case that the expereince is never as good the second time around, but not so for The Grand. The service we received last year is definitely consistent and we had a fantastic time. We stayed once again in the Heritage suite (Room 454) and it was just how we remembered immaculately clean, and with a gift of chocolates and a birthday card for my partner. This time we had the afternoon tea, and the food was delicious. It's something I had never done before and it really was a special treat. There was a lot of it too! We never got chance to visit the Spa last time and we would have gone this time, but it was undergoing renovations. However, it's definitely a good reason to return next year. Thank you once again to all the staff for making our trip truly special. We can't wait to return!

Brilliant hotel perfectly situated to the train station and city centre. The room and bathroom were both very spacious and spotlessly clean with a very large and comfortable bed. Staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had. Will definitely be back.

Just back from our first stay at this wonderful hotel. The staff were brilliant throughout and the room was beautiful. We also appreciated the chocolates and the card. It was a nice touch, so many thanks for that. The bedroom was large, light and airy, and it had every amenity we could have needed. We were on the 4th floor, in the newer part of the hotel and we had nice views out across the city and the hills beyond. We had a wonderful breakfast and instantly regretted not booking an evening meal for the previous night, having chosen to eat out at a restaurant in the city instead. The food at breakfast was delicious - lots of choice and the scrambled eggs were amazing! The service was also brilliant, so we’d definitely choose to eat in the hotel the next time we visit. My husband also enjoyed watching the bee keeper tend to the hives that you can view from the glass lift area on the 4th floor. We were disappointed the swimming pool and spa was closed for refurbishment during our stay, as this wasn’t the case when we initially booked the hotel but to be fair, they did warn us a few months ago about this and although we though about cancelling and rebooking a different hotel, we decided to stick with our original booking. All in all, we had a wonderful trip and we’ll hopefully be back soon. Thank you for a great stay!
