North Block Hotel

Amazing hotel. Quiet and absolutely gorgeous. 10/10 would recommend. The privacy and accessibility of the hotel was perfect. Breakfast and mimosas every morning was icing on the cake.

Wow where do I even start?!! This is a long review, but I wouldn’t do the hotel justice if I didn’t hit every point.  In July, we made the drive up from Los Angeles to Yountville, CA, for a stay at the North Block Hotel, a getaway to celebrate both my birthday and our 20th anniversary. From the moment we arrived, the experience felt exceptional. Every detail, from the warm welcome to the attentive service, made it clear this was going to be a celebration to remember. I honestly wish I could give this place more than five stars!! The property is tucked away at the end of Washington, which makes it feel peaceful and secluded, yet it’s still walking distance to great restaurants, bakeries, and galleries. Also if you’d rather bike, they have bikes available  Check in was seamless. Our bags were taken to the room right away, and we were led through a perfectly manicured, quiet and beautiful courtyard to our room. When we walked into our room, we were met with chilled champagne on ice and a personalized welcome note acknowledging our special occasions. What an absolutely delightful and thoughtful surprise!  The room itself was gorgeous: clean, spacious, luxurious. Huge bathroom with a rain shower, double vanity, and separate soaking tub complete with a candle and even bath salts. The bed was super comfortable, and I loved having a Nespresso machine with perfect little espresso cups. Every detail was on point.   And oh!! The private patio! Double doors open onto a stunning private patio - warm terracotta tiles framed by lush greenery. We loved lounging on the comfortable daybed and modern rattan chairs while the sunlight danced through the vines,, oh such pure bliss!! Such a sweet little intimate al fresco retreat,, it felt so serene and indulgent.  The service throughout our stay was outstanding. Special shoutout to Davis, who went above and beyond to set up the TV to allow us to watch the Formula 1 race in our room.  He made sure to have it set up on Saturday, so we’d have no trouble tuning in for the race early Sunday morning. He and Carter were always there to answer questions or help with anything, from restaurant tips to getting us more Nespresso pods. Javier and Raphael were also attentive and happy to help at every opportunity. The housekeeping team was exemplary as well. They were friendly, meticulous, and attentive to every detail. Our room was refreshed daily, complete with turndown service and delightful little evening treats!! The pool area was peaceful and classy, with thoughtfully chosen music at just the right volume. The other pool guests relaxed and lounged quietly soaking in the sun and luxe vibes. Such a happy and chill atmosphere. It was such a treat to find a hotel with such a peaceful pool area. Breakfast was another highlight. Very European in feel.. fresh yogurt, perfectly ripe fruit (blueberries, strawberries, melon), artisanal breads ready for toasting alongside flaky croissants and muffins. Also a selection of lean meats and cheeses, and delicious hot coffee. To top it off, there was always champagne and orange juice for leisurely mimosas. Such an ideal way to begin the day! I also loved being able to pop down to the lobby anytime for a complimentary chilled glass of wine or champagne. A welcome and unexpected touch that made our stay feel that much more special. And one I happily enjoyed! So fabulous to have a nice glass of wine and stroll through the beautiful courtyard to the room and out to our beautiful private patio ..  And if all of that wasn’t enough to knock our socks off.. They rolled out the red carpet for our two little Italian Greyhounds! When we arrived to our room, there were two dog beds, four bowls (two for food, two for water), two bags of treats, two toys, and even chilled glass bottles of water sitting in the dogs’ bowls. Yes, even chilled water for the pups!  I was blown away at the amount of attention and effort they made to make sure that even our pups were welcome and comfortable.  Everything about North Block Hotel exudes elegance, comfort, and class, yet carries none of the pretension often found in luxury properties. There’s a shared unspoken understanding among guests here: this is a place to truly unwind. It felt like all of the guests were there to relax, so the environment was peaceful and beautifully quiet and calming. I had a couple very difficult and stressful years, so the kindness of the staff, combined with the peaceful atmosphere where I could fully relax with my husband and pups, was nothing short of a blessing. It brought healing to my heart, body, mind, and soul. I’m deeply grateful to everyone who made our stay so wonderful. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.  We're already planning out next trip!

We have stayed at North Block several times and each time the experience has been excellent. The rooms are well appointed and the staff is wonderful. I would recommend North Block to anyone traveling to Napa Valley

The front desk staff and overall service were exceptional. Our room was cozy and comfortable, while the property grounds had a luxurious feel - particularly the beautiful porch area that made us feel right at home. The location was perfect, situated right next to RH restaurant, which made dining incredibly convenient.

Lovely accommodations, in a lovely area with lovely staff. I really couldn’t ask for more. I haven’t been this relaxed on a vacation—maybe ever.
