Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa Iadera

We spent a few nights at Falkensteiner Resort Iadera in Punta Skala and, overall, it was a lovely stay. The location, the rooms, the spa and the food were all excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful whenever we reached them. A few things kept it from being a five-star experience for us, and they all come down to one theme: information. On arrival we received no overview of the restaurants, opening hours, check-out procedure or the additional services available. We repeatedly had to ask when breakfast or dinner ends, when the bistro bar, fitness centre and spa are open, and whether there was any evening programme or daily news worth knowing about. Each of these questions meant a walk to the reception – where, even in low season, we more than once found ourselves in a queue for something that could have been answered in ten seconds. What made this stand out is that we had stayed at Falkensteiner Premium Camping Zadar just a few minutes down the road earlier this year, and there the exact opposite was true. All information – opening hours, restaurants, daily updates, questions to the team – came straight to our phones via WhatsApp. We never had to go to the reception for anything. It was one of the most relaxed holiday set-ups we've experienced. Given that both properties belong to the same group, it was surprising that Iadera doesn't offer the same. We'd happily return – and we'd be delighted if next time the information found us, rather than the other way round.

My wife and I have stayed at this resort many times and keep coming back. It’s only a two-hour drive for us, and there’s plenty to see and visit in the surrounding area. But… yes, there is a but. On our most recent visit, the one thing that disappointed us was the food. I may be mistaken, and of course this is only our personal experience and may not reflect that of hundreds of other guests, but we found the evening meals were simply not up to the standard we had become used to here. I don’t know if there has been a change in the kitchen or in whoever is responsible for the menus, but this time we found the dinner choices and overall quality quite disappointing. In fact, on one evening we actually forfeited the meal we had already paid for and went into the local village to eat instead. Breakfast, however, was absolutely fine — no complaints at all and the usual great selection we have always enjoyed. We genuinely like this resort and have returned many times, which is probably why the change in the evening meals stood out so much. Hopefully it was just an off period and the dinner offering returns to the standard we remember on our next visit.

I had a wonderful experience with Dona during my stay at Falkensteiner Iadera. She is extremely professional, kind, attentive and genuinely dedicated to her work. From the very beginning, she made me feel comfortable and relaxed, and her massage was absolutely amazing. Dona has a very warm and pleasant personality, and you can truly feel how much she cares about providing the best experience for her guests. Her technique, attention to detail and professionalism are exceptional. I highly recommend Dona to anyone looking for a relaxing and high-quality massage experience. Great location with beautiful garden, heated pools and private beach. Wide range of food on breakfast and dinner. The manager of the hotel was concern about every guest and tried to resolve every ocured problem. The only our complaint was the mattress.

Excellent family hotel for pool/ beach holiday. The leisure facilities are first class - huge gym/ tennis/ padel etc. Old town of Zadar is beautiful and 20-30 minutes by Uber/ Bolt approx 25 Euro. Our children took part in the Arsenal Development Football Camp which was exceptionally well organised and a great experience - great staff and facilities.
