This is a review of the restaurant of the hotel. The ambiance is absolutely neat, modern plus traditional aspects, great ambience and great location at central part of the town and easy to move around. I had business lunch and it was very tasty. Only thing was it took abit more time than indicated otherwise it was perfect!

This is the best hotel in Zagreb. It’s within walking distance of downtown and all the museums. The town was hit by a large earthquake in 2020 and many buildings (including the cathedral and many museums) are still closed with renovations in progress.

This is a truly beautiful hotel that was built for the original Orient Express but is fully modernized with excellent rooms and public facilities. The problem is, many things aren't working right, this happened to several people in our group and it appears the problems have occured in the past as well. Small item but one or more televisions weren't working. I called guest services, a technician came up twice and then said he needed to reset the system and after waiting a half hour for him to return, I headed out for dinner. Not fixed after dinner and when I called guest services, they said: didn't our technician come to your room? Yes, but he never fixed it. Apparently he just went home and didn't tell anyone he couldn[t fix the problem and one that others were having as well. A half hour later: we'll move your room. The two restarurants get great reviews, are very expensive and were totally booked up even for us hotel guests. No mention in any literature that food is also available in the bar, something we discovered on our own. Quite expensive as well although high quality and we were too exhausted to head out, especially with an early wakeup. The problem here: The bar and related room quickly filled up and were seriously understaffed with the result that it took 45 minutes to get food and another 45 minutes to get a bill.

This hotel is an elegant, opulent historic hotel. But if you have any kind of mobility issues avoid it. Throughout the hotel there are steps and stairs without railings and some are not clearly visible. The accessible rooms are not really at all. There are handrails around a toilet that is very low, like a squatty potty, and sloped forward at an odd angle. The shower is a small corner with a shower curtain and small seat. The seat in relation to the hand held shower is at an odd angle and almost impossible to use. There is no place to put toiletries . The shower does not contain the water so the marble floors are dangerously slippery. Every door has a risen jamb presenting numerous tripping hazards and making wheelchair access nearly impossible. To get from the hotel lobby to one restaurant Le Bistro a person with mobility issues must exit the hotel, go down a steep and busy driveway, navigate a cobblestone walk and use the street entrance. A nightmare!
