The Residence Zanzibar

We were a party of 4 staying in 2 of the garden villas. It was a truly memorable and enjoyable stay and everything about The Residence was amazing, especially the staff. I’d especially like to mention Edson, Mary and Clement but there were many more who contributed to a wonderful stay. The villas were immaculate with private pools, the food was excellent and the location beside the sea was fabulous.

we were a aprty of four family members, sharing two villas. The lcation of this hotel is absolutely superb. Each Villa had a private pool as well as the beautiful main pool which was fabulous. The food was first rate and each night there was a different theme, i.e. Asian, Italian, street foold - one night all the tables were set up on the beach which was so beautiful. Entertainment in the form of dance and song was also a real treat most nights. However, the true charm and value inthis hotel has to be the staff - they are absolutely wonderful. They could not be more helpful or pleasant! a big shout to Edson who recued a baby monkey for us from our ouddoor showere - he couldn't get out and his mum couldn't get him out!, Clement for our cocktails and Mary each breakfast time. There are lots more wonderful staff but I don't have all the names. HOme again now and so longing to go back and do it all over - PS the bikes were a great touch!

All staff were very good, courteous and helpful. Farida and Subira at lunch were excellent. A beautiful setting and grounds

We had a 7 night stay here in October and were extremely pleased with the experience. The facilities were great, and the staff were fantastic, a special mention to Farida, Clement & Bundala who were very attentive & personable. I also had a brilliant massage at the Spa by Nooma, highly recommend. I hope the resort give the staff the recognition they deserve. Food was great, buffet breakfast & dinner but the highlight was the A La Carte lunch menu was our favourite. The only thing that would make this better would be if dinner was A La Carte too. I recommend going All Inclusive as it made our stay stress free, meaning endless drinks around the pool & a minibar full of drinks at no extra cost! Be aware of the regular power cuts, simply due to the infrastructure on the island, but it never caused any issues as the generator would kick in straight away and power was restored. Just took us by surprise at first 😅 Thanks for a memorable, relaxing stay!

We have just spent a very memorable week at this first class hotel. Food at both restaurants was excellent ..one buffet and the other full menu. The site is well spread out ... bikes are provided and there is a 24/7 golf cart service for oldies like us!. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff Johanes soon knew our room number. Our snorkelling and sandbar trip( Salum,Hamid,Ahmed,Mohamed and Maulid) was special ... ideal for non swimmers. the boys made the occasion very special. we also took a massage together .. very well set up. Cocktails in the bar at sunset before dinner was a must and Baraka did his very best to make a cocktail he had never heard of 10/10. Transfers to and from the Hotel/airport were in modern air-conditioned vehicles with English speaking drivers happy to answer any questions.
