Thompson Zihuatanejo

Lovely beachfront hotel in the middle of La Ropa beach. Short taxi ride to town. Great sunset location. Resort is spread out so you are not bumping into people a lot. Open air restaurants are nice. Gym is ok. Beach walking is pleasant. Rooms are nice, large, and no issue with anything noted. Nice sitting area. Wifi worked fine. I recommend it for a great quiet vacation. Activities director arrange a 4-hour photography tour of Zihua and Ixtapa so I felt I had a good idea of the general area. Cost was only $90 USD.

BEWARE! This hotel does not accept or exchange US dollars. We couldn’t even buy a drink at the bar with US money! And they wouldn’t exchange our US dollars for pesos so we could pay for anything!

The best location, beautiful atmosphere, great rooms, delicious food and perfect staff. Francisco our waiter was always so kind and helpful even when we need special food or drinks. And Mariana our cleaning lady did excellent job every day. Thanks to them our long stay was perfect!

Absolutely the best hotel in Zihuatanejo, best location, service, food and facilities. Rooms are ample and comfortable absolutely impeccable, Food is farm to table everything fresh and delicious. La ropa beach is perfect for swimming and water sports. Employees are attentive and professional. After first stay at Thompson about 5 years ago this is the place we keep coming back when in Zihuatanejo.

Love this place- this Is our 2nd time at the Thompson. Its unique amongst itself and the level of personal attention is great!! Coming back a second time we saw some familiar faces and new but all were more than welcoming. Very friendly staff all across the board. The food is amazing breakfast, lunch, dinner we ate at Hao of of the onsite restaurants daily as well as drinks on the beach! Location is prime you are less than 5 min cab ride from the malecon and "downtown". Super clean rooms, common areas, even the beach. Luckily we stay on the adult side so there weren't any kids and it was the best! Being able to walk out of your room right onto the beach is priceless! Defintely a place to visit again and again.
