Hotel Des Indes

We had a lovely stay at this historical Grand Hotel . To be recommended!

We were looking for a break away to celebrate a very special occasion, unfortunately due to diaries we could only make space for 5 days so didnt want to eat in to that with extended travel. After considering a whole range of destinations, we ultimately chose The Hague for one very simple reason, Hotel Des Indes. Having visited many times before, we already knew the hotel and the wonderful team here and they know us, so we reached out to Gert and Brigitte to explain the occasion. They came straight back to us with a number of options, all of which were fantastic, and from that moment onwards we knew we had made the right choice. Our stay was, quite simply, exceptional. Hotel Des Indes is an assault on the senses in the very best possible way. The décor, the history, the location, the sense of style and, of course, the extraordinary list of guests who have passed through its doors all combine to create somewhere that feels genuinely special. It has character, personality and a sense of occasion that is increasingly difficult to find. The white feather (if you know, you know) was very firmly out for us during our stay, and nothing was ever too much trouble. The service throughout was warm, attentive and wonderfully personal without ever feeling intrusive. A particular mention must go to the young gentleman in the bar, whose name I am ashamed to say I never managed to discover. Early evening, he makes, without question, the best Vodka Martinis I have ever tasted. Quite a claim, but one I am very happy to stand by! The High Tea was truly exceptional, as was the welcome we received from the team at the entrance. Those first and last impressions really do matter, and both were absolutely first class. And a very special thank you to Gert, who went genuinely above and beyond for us from a concierge perspective even on his days off. His knowledge, attention to detail and willingness to help made such a difference to our stay and helped turn a special occasion into a truly memorable one. We have stayed at some wonderful hotels over the years, but Hotel Des Indes has something that cannot simply be manufactured. It has soul, history and a wonderful sense of theatre, combined with a team who clearly care about what they do. Thank you to everyone at Hotel Des Indes for looking after us so beautifully. We came for a quick escape and a special celebration, and left with some very special memories. We will, without question, be back.

We always greatly enjoy staying at Hotel Des Indes. It is a beautiful and charming hotel that combines traditional elegance with a warm and friendly atmosphere. It is always clean, calm and welcoming, and the staff are consistently kind and attentive. It is truly a pleasure to stay there.

I have been at this hotel several times and I love it here. It may not be the most beautiful, nor luxuruious hotel I have ever been in, but it's gorgeous, lush and the staff is welcoming and very helpful. It's old fashioned but in a good way, not frumpy at all. The location is great, within walking distance from central station if you were sensible shoes, a few trams that stop nearby and I'm sure that the hotel's staff can arrange a pick up which would be a 2 or 3 minute drive. It's located in the city center but still quiet. The staff will try their best to make it a great stay. I had ordered room service and if you love Thai food like me, try their interpretation of Tom Kha Kai, it's delicuous. I'm looking forward to going back there.

Very nice hotel on top location with helpful and very friendly staff. Clean and spacious rooms. Good value for money.
