The hotel is about six minutes from the train station and not too far from the airport. It’s a small under stated hotel which I loved. It’s very new and clean with lovely old charm on the stair cases and room ceilings. The service as tip top. The food was great and very high quality and the concierge very professional and helpful. One of the best hotels I have stayed in a long time!

Having stayed at the Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong and Paris, this hotel pales in comparison. We had a suite facing the square where the trams made a 90 degree turn in both directions. Whereas the trams were quiet on a straight road, the 90 degree turns made loud screeching noises. After being unable to sleep with the screeching noises, we requested that we be moved. The only room available at that point, which was midnight, was a handicapped single room. We managed to eke out sleep and was moved to a junior suite facing the courtyard after someone checked out the next day. The breakfast bar was unimpressive-the oatmeal was dry, the waffle was hard as a rock, and the coffee weak, to name a few. On the last day, I had pre-ordered room service breakfast for 8 a.m. the night before. At 6 a.m., room service woke me up from a deep sleep and asked if I still wanted room service at 8 a.m. or 7.50 a.m. Needless to say, I was not able to go back to sleep. The stay did not merit the cost.

Zurich is no stranger to perfection, and the arrival of the Mandarin Oriental Savoy continues that tradition. From the moment one arrives, one is wrapped in the embrace of perfect indulgence. Those who remember the old Savoy Hotel will welcome the new life and light that exudes from the 185-year-old bones of what was Zurich's first grand city hotel. Whilst Franz Liszt, Charles Dickens and Marlene Dietrich may have been regulars of the Baur en Ville, there will be present-day characters who will be calling the new Mandarin Oriental Savoy home. It is a hotel that bathes in the glory of its history, whilst offering today's modern traveler every conceivable comfort - with just a dash of eccentricity. The grandness of the old hotel remains, the staircase now illuminated with a stunning contemporary chandelier cascading down its spiral core, as modern art by Swiss and international artists gives colour and texture to the walls and rooms. The faux fireplace in the entrance needs reconsideration - this is Switzerland, and the ambience of a roaring fire is never out of vogue. Service from the moment you arrive is faultless; this is, after all, a Mandarin Oriental. Whisked to one's room, the elegance of the property is evident from the lifts, corridors, and in the rooms. Upgraded to a corner suite, one cannot be anything but impressed. The design is contemporary yet comforting, with marble blending seamlessly with wood and textiles that invite you to relax. The bathroom features an indulgent deep bath, along with a large rain shower, and includes the expected high-quality toiletries and gorgeous, fluffy towels. The bed is divine, and the linens are made from the highest quality Egyptian cotton. As we were tired from a long day of travel, we chose to dine in the suite. Ordering a Wiener Schnitzel and traditional Carbonara, along with a sinful dessert, we were not disappointed. My Schnitzel was perfectly cooked, and the Carbonara was superbly executed, the traditional way, without cream. After a perfect night's sleep, we awoke to the delicate rumble of Zurich's famous trams bustling below on the Paradeplatz. The view from the suite's balconies offers a perfect sense of being in the heart of Zurich, with a short walk to anywhere one needs to be. Breakfast was served in the hotel's Savoy Brasserie & Bar and offered an excellent and extensive buffet as well as à la carte options. Service was attentive, and again, the best of the Mandarin Oriental was on display. The old Savoy may have gone, but its tradition of offering the pinnacle of service and luxury lives on, with the stunning modernity of the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich, blending with its history.

We had a truly wonderful one night stay at the Mandarin Oriental Savoy Zurich. The location could not been better, almost everything worthwhile seeing as a tourist in Zurich is within a short walking distance. The hotel is stunning and you notice immediately that Management by Dominik Reiner together with the whole team really go the extra mile for ultimate guest satisfaction. That was MO experience as it’s best. Check in by Mrs. Zoe and Mr. Werling was impeccable. Thankfully our room was ready even despite our very early arrival at 9:30 am. We had the great luck to be upgraded to a junior suite. The suite and all public spaces are extremely taste- and thoughtfuly decorated and immaculate clean. With just 80 rooms and suites the hotel is small enough for a luxury boutique style vibe but on the other hand not too small like the Mandarin Oriental Munich, where it can get pretty tough if a certain room category isn’t available any more. We really enjoyed our short stay very much and both aggreed that Mandarin Oriental Savoy is among our personal top 10 MO properties worldwide. One tip: please make sure to visit the stunning rooftop bar for some drinks or a light meal, if weather permits. We hope to return soon and we are also looking forward meeting Mrs. Zoe again at the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok this October.

what a shock to arrive and find out next door they are doing construction in a building they are renovation inside and out... until 2027. So loud that the vibrations come write though the windows ,, so no sleep in the afternoon if you need to nap. Roof top badly designed .. as you sit .. you dont see the city... the staff is not the best service.. and menu is limited to small bites. Reception is good service, but limited French . Restaurant in Hotel is not that chic... and cozy, but the lobby tea room is nice, but small so usually full.. so limited space always. For the price I would certainly look into other 5 star hotels in Zurich. Its not a pass for me at that price
