I have stayed numerous times at this property. Service continuous to be excellent and the rooms are kept in immaculate conditions. The kitchen is always kind to meet my dietery restrictions.

Had an excellent time here, loved the location we could walk to a lot, including the lake and also the breakfast was excellent and everyone provided outstanding service, i would return in a heartbeat.

Our stay at the Park Hyatt Zurich came under very stressful circumstances after our flight was canceled and Swiss Air was holding our luggage, leaving us with essentially nothing. There were some genuinely wonderful aspects of our experience, but unfortunately, the condition and atmosphere of the hotel itself did not live up to what I expect from a five-star Park Hyatt. The absolute highlight of our stay was the incredible woman at the front desk who checked us in. When she learned that our luggage was being held by the airline, she immediately gathered whatever essentials the hotel had available for us — dental kits, makeup remover, shaving kits, and other necessities. It was an incredibly thoughtful gesture after a very difficult day. When we got to our two rooms, however, both had an extremely strong and unpleasant food/cooking odor. My son and I both suffer from migraines, and the smell was simply too intense for us to stay in those rooms. The same wonderful front desk employee personally walked with me to multiple rooms on different floors to make sure we could find two rooms where we would be comfortable. She was patient, kind, and genuinely concerned about our experience until she finally found two rooms that worked for us. She deserves enormous recognition. This is exactly what exceptional hospitality looks like — taking ownership of a guest's problem and going far beyond what is required to solve it. Park Hyatt should absolutely recognize her, and frankly, employees like her are the ones who should be promoted. She turned what could have been a terrible arrival experience into something much better. Dinner at the hotel was another bright spot. We were exhausted, hungry, and already dealing with a canceled flight, missing luggage, and rebooking issues, so being able to have a very good dinner without leaving the hotel was wonderful. Everything we ordered was tasty, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere helped lift our spirits after an extremely stressful day. Unfortunately, the physical hotel itself was disappointing. While the rooms are spacious, the decor feels dated and neither the bedroom nor bathroom had the warmth, refinement, or sense of luxury I would expect from a five-star hotel at this price point. The room felt much more like a standard Marriott-level business hotel than a luxury Park Hyatt. More concerning was the odor throughout the hallways. We went to three different floors while looking at rooms, and there was a very strong smell in the carpeted corridors on each one. I don't know whether it comes from food deliveries and trays sitting in the hallways, pets, the carpeting itself, or simply the need for a much deeper cleaning, but it was extremely noticeable. At a five-star property, guests should not have to search through multiple rooms and floors to find accommodations without a strong odor. Overall, the staff member who assisted us and our dinner experience were truly five-star. Unfortunately, the hotel itself was not. The property feels like it needs a significant facelift as well as a thorough deep cleaning, particularly of the carpeted areas and hallways. I am extremely grateful to the woman at the front desk who took such exceptional care of our family. She was the definition of outstanding hospitality and deserves tremendous credit. I only wish the physical property matched the level of service she provided.

The first hotel I’m staying at in Zurich this time is the Park Hyatt. Believe it or not, this marks my fourth stay at a Park Hyatt property, though my previous three experiences were all in Australia. I mean, what choice did I have? I was waiting for Taipei’s branch to open back in 2023, but as the Sky Taipei building fiasco drags on, it feels like it will never open. And a few years back when I visited Tokyo, their Park Hyatt property hadn't gone through its massive overhaul yet, so I opted for Andaz instead. But stepping inside here, whether it’s the lobby or the room I’m standing in right now, everything feels incredibly familiar. First, even their base rooms are exceptionally spacious. Second, they stick to their signature dark brown wood, creating that distinctive low-key elegance—a true home away from home. It's all deja vu especially when compared to the Melbourne property. However, because this type of solid wood relies on high-gloss lacquer finishes, it inevitably faces the harsh reality of wear and tear over time. Even though this property has undergone multiple refurbishments since its opening in 2004, it just can't hide its tiredness. To add salt to the wound, twenty years later, when modern residential design elements have shifted towards lighter color themes, the sense of datedness becomes even more glaring. Honestly, Zurich really needs to take a page out of Park Hyatt Sydney’s book regarding their massive 2012 overhaul. By contrast, the moment you step into the bathroom, the whole vibe completely changes. The marble here actually looks great! Perhaps because natural stone is inherently durable, paired with an excellent polishing job during the refurbishments, it hasn't left a single trace of age over the past two decades. Combined with the open glass panels and the sliding wooden partitions, the entire bathroom maintains a highly modern, elegant feel. But more importantly, the toiletries here are the signature Le Labo Bergamote 22 scent, which is almost universally used across the Park Hyatt brand. That crisp, citrusy fragrance combined with its smooth texture has long been inseparable from the Park Hyatt identity. It’s exactly why I’ve always been so drawn to this brand. When it comes to dining, I was a little disappointed that I missed out on their main restaurant, Parkhuus, due to a major renovation. However, I did manage to have both dinner and breakfast at the Lobby Lounge. The second you walk in, the unmistakable Park Hyatt atmosphere hits you. From the gentle piano music playing in the background to the warm, amber glow of the chandeliers, its choice of wood for its furniture, and the incredibly generous space between tables—it perfectly embodies Park Hyatt’s philosophy of understated elegance. Even more crucial is the service. The staff carry that consistent, soft-spoken, and completely unobtrusive yet attentive demeanor found across the brand. Compared to Mandarin Oriental or The Peninsula, it feels entirely different—there is an extra layer of quiet dignity to it. The food follows the exact same philosophy. It carries that distinct Park Hyatt vibe, which is not flashy, boundary-pushing culinary experiments. Instead, it focuses on delivering a refined, bespoke experience. Take the Entrecôte I had on my first night—the beef flavor was incredibly rich, it is also beautifully seared and effectively locked all the juices. Paired with the truffle mashed potatoes and onion butter on top, they complemented each other flawlessly. As for my second night, I had the Summer Salad. The main ingredient, Oxheart Tomato, paired with Burrata cheese and pine nuts, showcased excellent ingredient quality and a wonderfully refreshing seasoning. For breakfast, aside from the à la carte menu, you can upgrade to a Semi-Buffet. Again, it is quintessential Park Hyatt. From the pastries, the avocado toast with eggs to the coffee, there is a distinct sense of refinement. The entire dining experience, combined with the crowd it attracts, gives you a profound sense of tranquility. This kind of charm is something mainstream five-star hotels simply cannot replicate. Lastly, let's talk about the fitness facilities. There is no swimming pool here, but they do offer a 24-hour gym. It’s fully equipped with weight machines, dumbbells, and treadmills. While it lacks my personal favorite—the Smith Machine—I’m still perfectly happy with it. To sum it up, this experience did not disappoint. Granted, the dated room hardware remains a slight letdown. But in an era that champions sustainability, I can understand their philosophy of keeping things well-maintained rather than completely tearing them down. At 800 Swiss Francs a night, I find it acceptable, because it kinda aged like fine wine. But beyond that, it’s the one "software" that makes you overlook the hardware flaws: the people. Their elegance and vibe are like endangered species among five star hotels. Of course, if the property could be refurbished to match Park Hyatt Sydney’s contemporary elegance, it would easily justify the premium it charges over a Grand Hyatt.

I arrived in points and used my suite upgrade to get a corner suite. Everything was great, as expected. One issue arouse where my daughter left MY phone in an Uber. At the first, the Uber driver refused to return the phone without being paid. I had no problem paying him but the Concierge was outstanding at assisting us in resolving this issue and potentially offering to get the police involved. It all worked out fortunately. While they say they do not have AC it sure felt like they did. We were in the 5th floor, so noise was not an issue, Breakfast buffet was fabulous and the work out room was just what I needed. I fully recommend this hotel as a premiere property in Zurich, Just what you would expect.
