Reviews for Park Hyatt Zurich

Best Service In The World

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Could not have had a better experience and stay. Jens Maier, the Concierge Manager, took the time to help me understand the routes and book my train ride to and from Zurich. He even printed out my tickets! He was focused, diligent and exemplified the utmost professionalism. Thank you Jens! Will be back!

Almost Perfect

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

The hotel is vast, with a huge reception area, high ceilings, wide corridors, and large, well-appointed rooms offering all the amenities you would expect and more. Everything was spotless, and the service throughout our stay was excellent. The only downside was the check-in process. When asked for a credit card to secure any incidentals, I made it very clear that no money should be taken from the card and that any charges would be paid as we went. After seeking my assurance, the hotel placed a CHF 150 hold on the card. At checkout – which followed an otherwise very pleasant stay, including a beautiful evening meal and an even better breakfast – all bills were settled as agreed. However, I was then informed that the CHF 150 hold would only be released back to my card within 2–5 working days. This was not what we had agreed and left us short of funds for the remainder of our trip, forcing me to top up our Travel Ex card to compensate. This was very disappointing from the Park Hyatt and a valuable lesson learned for me.

Worst concierge service of any hotel visited.

We rely heavily on the assistance of the concierge services when visiting higher end hotels. This hotel was a total miss in this department. Unreliable and not knowledgeable in several areas and quite honestly ruined our experience at this location.

We recommend this hotel with caveats

At 36 square meters the standard king room was functional but very dark, even for 1 night. We had a view of the hotel's courtyard area. There was a thin layer of snow. The room had a round table outfitted with two chairs so both of us could sit at it and work at our laptops. There was a curious power tower near the table for our laptop plugs but it kept collapsing. We were brought a standing lamp for the area near the table which made it easier to see in the dark room. There was a divan in the room and it was only sort of comfortable for sitting (why didn’t they have a sofa?). In any event, it was difficult to see the TV screen from it, even after turning the screen. The bathroom with only one sink was okay for two people. The shower area was weird but outfitted the way we requested with a seat and rubber mats. The toilet was separate which helped but it was too low for even us little people. The mini bar area worked well and the closet was big enough for 1 night. We looked at the gym and it was not inviting. On Saturday morning we got a late check out and walked by Lake Zurich toward the old town. We went the Parkhuss restaurant inside the Park Hyatt for dinner. Parkhuss was a good restaurant; we enjoyed our dinner (at about double the price of the restaurants where we ate in Genève) and breakfast was in that restaurant too. That buffet breakfast was really good.
