Reviews for Storchen Zurich

Zurich’s Best

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

As a longtime traveler to Zürich, who has stayed at the Storchen several times, along with several of its competitors, I can say with confidence that the Storchen is, by far, the best hotel in the area. It’s location, accommodations, and staff all rise above its competitors. After my most recent stay, it is the only option I will choose in future while staying in Zurich. Jessica, the manager, sets the bar for caring and service that the rest of the staff all follow. We can’t wait to return.

Location is key

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We usually stay at another hotel in Zurich but this time the other hotel was largely booked and the available rooms were super expensive so we decided to try another hotel. I checked and there were some good reviews on Storchen so I booked two rooms as we are a family of 4. The rooms were ok not extra ordinary but they are quite small and not comfortable to navigate with the kids and the bags. Otherwise the hotel’s location is excellent and is right by the riverside and the old city. The food options around the hotel are plenty and the hotel makes good recommendations for food options. Overall it’s a good hotel but for the price we paid I think the rooms are simply too small, although they are fully renovated.

Stochen is an exceptional hotel - great staff, fantastic service, beautifully-appointed rooms, high-quality meals and great peace and quiet in the centre of Zurich

Noisy and unapologetic

Totally awful service, rooms have the most awfully loud work noise. Nobody explained that road work when hotel was booked or at check in . Nobody explained price adjustments or apologies for the massive inconvenience

Ridiculously Overpriced

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

SAVE YOUR MONEY. THIS HOTEL IS RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED. We travel quite a bit. We recently stayed at this location as part of a special anniversary trip. We "splurged" on hotels throughout our time in Switzerland and thoroughly enjoyed every single one of the properties - except for this one. We paid an extraordinarily inflated ridiculous price and got very little in return. While the room was clean and comfortable, there was nothing "extra" about it. We paid for a river view room. The view was from two very small windows. The room was small. A queen bed - not a king size bed. And at more than $750 a night - breakfast should be included. Our other splurge hotels were gorgeous, large rooms with large balconies, king-size beds, beautiful breakfasts, an amazing staff - and many with extra sitting areas in the room. If you are considering this property, keep looking. Make sure you are actually getting something other than a basic room for this price point. We don't mind splurging, but the idea is to actually get something of value or special in return. You won't find that here.
