A romantic weekend in the heart of Zurich

Beautiful hotel...minus the construction
We stayed for 3 nights at Storchen. The hotel is very centrally located and extremely charming. Our room was not big, but sufficient for our needs as we were just sleeping there. The biggest disappointment is the construction that is going on right in front of the hotel. Our room was overlooking the construction. I thought about asking to change rooms, but decided it wasn't worth the hassle. It's very, VERY loud (drilling) and they start at 7am every day (other than Sunday, I believe). You'll see people plugging their ears as they walk past. Personally, I would not book this hotel while the construction is going on, but would recommend it otherwise. Breakfast is delicious, service was great and all the staff are super friendly but the biggest standout was one of the bellman. I didn't catch his name, but it starts with M, and he was bald. This gentleman was a total standout, super helpful, thoughtful and just wonderful. Would love to return once the construction is complete.

Best ever
experience Zurich without Storchen? That would be a big mistake. That's what I was recommended and after my stay I can only say one thing - absolute truth. I really travel all over the world and hotels are often my homes. But in Storchen it's like being at home with your family.

Expectation exceeded
The staff & location is just wonderful. The inside restaurant (1 Michelin Star) is amazing and must be reserved previously. Don't get the hotel by rental car.

Lovely view and excellent staff
Originally reserved at Alex Zürich at Thalwil but changed to Storchen due to closer to train station. Easier transportation accessibility. Front desk staff, porter and housekeeping staff are all so welcoming. Will definitely come back. Restaurant food is overpriced and it’s ok but not for the price. Storchen cake IS super good :-)
