Perfection in Beaufort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We had the most amazing stay at this beautiful Inn. Parking was convenient at the back of the house. We received a very warm welcome from the moment we arrived. Our gorgeous room was upstairs-please note, this is an old inn therefore no lift, but it wasn’t a problem for us. There’s a beautiful veranda wrapping around the house with comfortable furnishings to sit in. A special word of praise for the girl at reception (unfortunately I can’t remember her name) but she helped me order takeout food that evening as my phone wasn’t working. Breakfast the next morning was delicious, and our 2 waiters were super pleasant and efficient. My only regret is we didn’t book 2 nights instead of 1 as it was such a beautiful place to stay.

History, warmth and charm!

200 year old home converted into a welcoming and elevated Inn. We had a basement room with 2 queens and it was lovely. Our fellow travelers had a long on the second floor which had beautiful high ceilings and more room. We were all thrilled with our accommodations. Warm and helpful staff, and a delicious breakfast which was included in the room rate. We loved it.

Amazing "Honeyversary" - one for the books!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

What can we say about our experience last weekend? That we'd love to be doing it all over again this weekend! (and will plan a return trip soon) My wife and I wanted to make a memorable and special celebration of our 16th wedding anniversary as we had previously stayed in the cottages the first night of our honeymoon on our way from Charlotte to Florida. We knew of the inn from recommendations of family and friends local to Beaufort and had such a lovely time our first visit we knew we had to return. Every aspect of our trip this time was wonderful, from speaking with Robin over the phone in advance of surprising my wife and arriving to find a card and chilled bottle of champagne in our room to sharing a warm and personable conversation with Beverly (head chef) downstairs near the kitchen. The ladies that staffed the front desk were always willing to kindly assist with whatever request we presented and were excited about our experience in the stay. We found out that Beverly has been with the inn since before our first visit 16 years ago, and she is more than deserving of all the recognition and accolades she and the inn have received for her delicious delicacies. The service we received at breakfast was superb, and not only did we enjoy sitting at the same front porch table as our first trip those years back but we thoroughly enjoyed the care and conversation with our server Tyler. This trip we stayed in the Newcastle house located across the lawn and gardens from the main house. The charm and elegance were a perfect setting for out relaxing getaway, with timeless and classic appeal and comfortable accommodations all throughout. To say this place is picturesque is an understatement. The beauty, class, and history of Beaufort is truly captured in this local gem - and we are in a hurry for our next stay!

Staff training required

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Sadly my review of the Rhett House is disappointing! We arrived early, around 12 noon after a long drive, to be greeted by a surly, unhelpful staff member on reception. She was unwilling to be helpful. Not the pleasant experience that we were expecting to find after hearing so much about Southern hospitality. Management please note your morning receptionist requires further training to greet guests! We returned a few hours later to be welcomed by a lovely lady. The epitome of a Southern elegant greeting. Due to a typo on our itinerary (we are doing a Road trip through the Carolinas) our booking was for the following day . Had the morning receptionist been willing to check our booking, it would have saved a lot of angst in the afternoon! The hotel could not offer us a room after all. Disappointedly, we had to move on and lost our money

Wonderful, relaxing stay

This is such a beautiful Inn——my husband and I stayed in the cottage that is adjacent to the main house. The room was super comfortable with a queen sized bed and fluffy, soft pillows. Breakfast was wonderful—Beverly is a very talented chef!

The Rhett House Inn was fabulous! The staff was very friendly and really made us feel at home. You can easily walk to restaurants and to the waterfront; the beach, Paris Island and Savannah are within easy driving distance.
