A gracious English-Style country house, the former private home called Devonfield crowns 29 acres of tree-shaded meadows just outside Lenox, Massachusetts. With the rolling tapestry of the Berkshire Hills beyond, this charming bed and breakfast offers New England elegance in the town of Lee, whose quaint shops and residences have remained largely unchanged for 75 years. Perfect respite is promised in exquisite, traditionally styled guest rooms -- some with wood-burning fireplaces or Jacuzzis, hand-crafted quilts or fluffy down comforters, and all with complimentary brandy and hand-made chocolates.

I had the privilege of residing at Devonfield Carriage House for a 3-night, 4-day weekend retreat, which proved to be an experience of unmatched pleasure. This charming retreat not only met but exceeded my elevated expectations in every aspect. The hosting duo, consisting of Doug and Jim, excelled in creating memorable moments, injecting every instant with warmth, hospitality, and a deep sense of connection. The breakfasts were outstanding, demonstrating culinary expertise that will leave a lasting impression on one's senses. We had the honor of occupying two of the four exquisite cottages, specifically The Burke's Landing and The Crown Jewel, which embodied the pinnacle of sophistication and comfort. Once again, the synergy between Doug's warm hospitality and Jim's gastronomic expertise has resulted in an experience that will be permanently etched in memory. The main house, with every room fully booked, is a testament to its stunning beauty and character, a true masterpiece. How people just love coming to Lee for Devonfield Carriage House. Our trip, which was a celebration of our sister's life categorized as a girls' trip, warrants a rating of 10, given the exceptional experience provided. The atmosphere is relaxing and peaceful to for your soul.

My husband and I had an amazing and relaxing experience here for our anniversary. The hosts were very welcoming and created a community like environment at the inn. The daily breakfast was delicious, especially the homemade pastries and savory options. We stayed in the Roosevelt room which had an amazing view of a sprawling lawn with trees, and was quiet. The inn is also centrally located close to many neighboring downtowns and attractions- Lenox, Stockbridge, and various cultural sites and restaurants. Getting a massage on the property was an additional treat, as well as the electric charging station. We would definitely come back!

We are repeat guests at the Devonfield Inn, and that's because the location is excellent for everything we love to do in the Berkshires, and also because Doug & Jim are outstanding hosts. The world would be a much better place if there were more Dougs! The Inn is in the heart of the Berkshires, set back from a quiet road in a beautiful setting. The interior and exterior of the Inn are spacious and comfortable. During this visit we refreshed ourselves in the outdoor pool after our daytime activities. We've enjoyed staying in Room #4, with its beautiful windows and separate sitting room. The room is exceptionally clean, well maintained, and the bed is comfortable. Breakfasts are outstanding, with multiple courses but not so much food as to be overwhelming. We also very much appreciate how the Inn accommodates our bicycles in a sheltered garage. We already have our next visit booked!

What a beautiful retreat in the Berskhires! We stayed four nights in one of the carriage house rooms. It was great to have an extra bathroom, and the washer/dryer made it easy to pack lightly. The bed sheets were buttery smooth and soft, very comfortable. We really enjoyed the breakfast, excellent quality and choices. The owners and staff were all very friendly and helpful. Tip: take advantage of the loop itinerary that Doug created. We did the full loop in a half day and enjoyed all the stops, especially the ice cream!

This was the second time we spent a weekend at Devonfield. Once again it was a perfect time. Doug and Jim are just the best hosts. They helped make the stay memorable. They offer various suggestions of attractions in the area if you are not familiar with the Berkshires. Our room was spotless and lovely. The inn is so inviting and relaxing especially by the fire in the evening. Jim is dynamite in the kitchen with his breakfasts! You simply have to try this inn for a nice couples getaway! We will definitely be back for a third trip! Thank you Doug and Jim for our getaway!
