A gracious English-Style country house, the former private home called Devonfield crowns 29 acres of tree-shaded meadows just outside Lenox, Massachusetts. With the rolling tapestry of the Berkshire Hills beyond, this charming bed and breakfast offers New England elegance in the town of Lee, whose quaint shops and residences have remained largely unchanged for 75 years. Perfect respite is promised in exquisite, traditionally styled guest rooms -- some with wood-burning fireplaces or Jacuzzis, hand-crafted quilts or fluffy down comforters, and all with complimentary brandy and hand-made chocolates.

Great choice in the Berkshires, less than a mile from the stores and restaurants in nearby Lee and a 10 minute drive to Tanglewood. The owners, Doug and Jim, are exemplary hosts, looking after the needs of all the guests -- even on a "full house" weekend when we visited. Grounds are well-maintained and the pool is spotless. I wouldn't say the furnishings in the rooms were my favorite but you can see exactly what to expect viewing the comprehensive videos and photos they have online for each accommodation. And, regardless of the style, bedding was comfortable, rooms immaculate, and freshly painted. Highly recommended.

Just returned from a great stay at the Devonfield. The innkeepers, Jim & Doug, are very attentive and accommodating. Our room, #8, was very clean with a comfortable bed and convertible sofa & private bathroom/shower. The private sitting area with a bistro table was very nice and , since it rained, the fact it was covered was a bonus. Also my sister & I particularly loved the dining room and pool area enclosed porch both had a wonderful view of the distant mountains. Another bonus was the proximity to many attractions (our favorites being The Mount estate, Berkshire Botanicals and The Clark Museum. ) We highly recommend the Devonfield.

This was one of my favorite places I have stayed in the US. It was so charming and they have thought of every detail to make your stay great…shower amenities, waters in the rooms, keurig machine in every room, pool towels and drink bar downstairs, etc. The house is huge and my daughter and I were right across from my mom so it felt like we had our own wing of the house. The sitting room for room 5 had a very comfortable queen size pull out bed so felt like we got a two bedroom suite. Doug and Jim were helpful in planning our trip from the moment we booked so I didn’t have to do much work. They’re so available for any questions. I plan to stay there many times in the future!

Beautiful property. Experienced hosts. Excellent breakfast. Stayed in carriage house, fully equipped. Early June gardens full of iris, and peonies. Lilly of valley, rhododendrons and azalea, coming soon. Pots with petunias and geraniums. Yes, beautiful place in Berkshires.
