This was supposed to be a fun cross stitch trip to New Harmony, IN for the first annual Threadworx Fair. Mom daughters and aunt all traveling together. 4 people 1 room 2 beds. Came to the New Harmony Resort to check into our room at 4pm. Have had the room booked for 11 months, July 16, 2025. Lady at desk tells us you booked a 1 bed loft. See pics. Would you like an air mattress. Are you kidding me! I did not book this. She argued with me saying yes you did. She says they dont have any extra rooms, completely booked. She called her manager, I was not accepting this. They say they have an extra room can give us but we have to pay $200-300. I had to walk away. I went outside and came back in and I had pulled up my confirmation. I told her it definitely was for 4 people she said I was definitely in 1 bed loft. I can come back and look at her computer. So I did. I said that is not my confirmation number. Continued to argue with me and I saw my name and it was not spelled correctly. My confirmation is all spelled correctly. Light finally came on, similar name, they gave our room to a couple. They could not make those people leave their room supposedly. I was livid. So they eventually gave us another room besides the loft room. That room has a crazy steep spiral staircase up to a bed, bathroom downstairs. The couch in room is not a sofa bed, see pic of couch. That room did not work for us. All of us >49 years old. We all bunked in the other room they ended up giving us. 3 people in queen/king bed 1 on twin inflatable mattress, that is losing air. Have called for a different one and doesn't seem to be coming. This has turned into a nightmare of a night. When my husband and I travel we are usually in an IHG hotel. But this is a small town without any or I would probably be at it now. If there is a 3nd annual Threadworx Fair next year, would never stay here again. I have never been treated so unfairly and accused of doing something in error that I didn't do and the place not making it right. They did not make it right. So disappointed, and angry.

Will not be back! Extremely dissatisfied. After spending a great deal of time on the phone with reservations attempting to insure a delightful trip for my elderly mother, when we arrived and attempted to check in, we found that all our plans had essentially been thrown out the window to accomodate a muder mystery evening. No notification. After forcing the Inn's hand they changed the accomodations closer to what they originally had been. The room we stayed in was dirty and lacking in amenities such as towels and soap. They are extremely behind on offering items such as non-allergen soaps. There were dead bugs all over the floor. The crank on the window was broken off. We received a lot of "I don't knows" from the staff. When I arrived home, I did check my credit card activity. At that point after asking them on the first night and on the last day, if any money was owed and told repeatedly that it was not, since they had made the mistake, I found they had charged us more - even though it was unauthorized. I called and have been told the last charge would be reversed. But we will see what happens. This is not a trust worthy or reliable place to visit. Watch out.

Upon checking in, we learned that our rooms were not in the same building and no offer to address this issue was made. When we arrived to the King room, there were several bugs crawling on the drapes. There was no place to gather with the group we met there….no place to play cards, visit, etc. What makes this place a “resort “???? The idea is laughable. I was wholly unimpressed (at best) and disgusted in general. We’ll NEVER be back and will recommend against anyone we know staying there as well.

Disappointing. My wife and I had lovely memories of the Inn from some years ago but our return trip was disappointing. The rooms are in dire need of refurbishment and updating. Cleanliness was spotty -- the air vent in the ceiling was so dark and black it drew your eyes to it; the main garbage can for our room was clearly not emptied from the last rental. Comfort was lacking -- our room had a sleeper sofa that was about the most uncomfortable bed I've ever tried to relax in and it appeared to be decades old. In the quest of a nice room we also selected a room that offered a upper alcove for the bed -- DON'T DO THIS. The staircase to the alcove is a spiral/circle one and while the idea may be quaint, it really is impossible to go up it with anything in your hands primarily because you are holding on for dear life to go up these thin, thin, steps in a tight, tight spiral. And upstairs in the alcove is the bed and two side tables. That's it. No other facilities whatsoever. So, guess what? Got to get up at night and relieve the bladder? Better get very awake to go down and then up those stairs because they are truly perilous even wide awake and the daylight. We will never go back.

I stayed here twice in May. The location is fantastic when visiting the town of New Harmony. The rooms are well decorated with comfortable beds with nice sheets and towels. My wife made a comment how great the soaps were. Both time the rooms were spotless. Both time I was in the building furthest east. The building and common areas are showing some wear. Because I had been a few years ago, I knew what to expect. However for the price of a room, it is a deal!
