Luxury lodge in sustainable forest coffee plantation in San Jose’s suburbs. Perfect to decompress after a long flight

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

In Santa Barbara, this sustainable forest coffee plantation lodge is a gem and a haven of tranquility just in the outskirts of the bustling San Jose. This is a great place to decompress for a night or two after travelling in to Costa Rica. Traditional Costa Rican food, coffee and a warm welcome are waiting for you. All suites are individually decorated in a hacienda style and feature fantastic views of the plantation and of San Jose. Elegantly decorated with extra touches like hand painted tiles, ground coffee from its own plantation, local hardwood furniture and handmade mascaradas. The hotel offers an excellent tour of its coffee plantation which is more like a wildlife and sustainability tour. It’s followed by a coffee ‘cupping’ to sample the goods. We also took advantage of a tour to San Jose and its museums, exploring how Costa Rica came into being and what brought the country to its decision to disband its army. The pool area is tranquil and relaxed with great views and enchanting bird life. Much of the food is locally sourced (if not from its own gardens) but expect meals to be interrupted as the restaurant is outdoors and you’ll want to watch the birds.

Authentic Costa Rica

30 minutes from the airport lays this incredible boutique hotel. Probably among the best designs the 14 rooms and suite are unique and confortable are spread in the forest. The open space restaurant provides typical local food with a very good versatile menu. The whole hotel and rooms are spotless clean. The gardens are a wow. Tours depart from the reception with several options. The on site coffee tour is a must.

Most Unique & Gorgeous Property on Our Costa Rican Trip

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

The property is excellent. We travel a lot and this was one of the most unique and beautiful places we've been to. Kudos! We enjoyed walking around the property -- it really is fabulous and very interesting! However, food is average. Dining service is slow (probably due to high season). Choices a little limited. Food not as tasty, compared to other places in Costa Rica we visited (food / dining / dining staff not as good as in Osa, Drake Bay, Monteverde, Arenal/La Fortuna). That said, the dining entertainment was awesome (great live band/singer).

Ideal stopover close to airport

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Less than half hour from airport, unique boutique hotel with ‘Gaudi’ styled main building, really different. Large suite with impressive views, comfortable and well equipped, pool available but not heated. F & B expensive and variable quality, particularly lunch. A good choice for a stopover after long flight.

Distinctive Gaudi-style architecture immersed in nature. Gorgeous views, very comfortable and clean rooms, delicious food, and amazing local coffee.

Our trip to Costa Rica was especially memorable - Finca Rosa Blanca was beautiful. The perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful interior of Costa Rica. The food was outstanding, and it was wonderful to dine and meet the other people who were staying there. The guest rooms and pool were also very welcoming and comfortable. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Finca Rosa Blanca.

Our first trip to Costa Rica was to the magnificent, elegant property called Finca Rosa Blanca. We were given great attention by their lovely staff, enjoyed organic and fresh cuisine by their on-site chef and relaxed on the grounds of an amazingly lush gated property. We were so taken with the experience that we purchased the same trip to return the following year!

We stayed in Costa Rica at Finca Rosa Blanca, and the experience provided us with a top-notch hotel room, unique and elegant, with added benefits like spa treatments, horseback riding, dinners with wine and so much more. With the quality of the facilities and the courtesy of the staff, every effort was always made to welcome us.

My brother and I had the pleasure of staying at Finca Rosa Blanca Country Inn in May. From the moment we stepped on the property we were treated not only as guest of the hotel, but also as a part of the Finca family. Our every need was addressed or taken care of with exemplary service. The room was very clean and the food was absolutely delectable. I plan to visit this resort again and again and again. We had a WONDERFUL time. From now on, I will utilize Luxury Link to make all of my travel arrangements. This visit proved that they recommend only the BEST!
