A truly special place

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Finca Rosa Blanca is a special place. Located just outside San Jose (and only 20 minutes from the airport), it is a sustainability-focused boutique hotel that feels like it’s own special little world. You can tell that loving hands have created and guided this space. The property is lush, the birds are plentiful, the architecture is beautiful and the wonderful hospitality is the icing on the cake. We have stayed here multiple times and in different rooms and they each offer their own delightful twist. The shade-grown coffee farm that is around the hotel and across the road is wonderful to tour and learn about the sustainable practices they use and the diversity of flora and fauna. Their open-air restaurant has a great view and a delicious menu and wonderful staff to take care of you. There is a one-of-a-kind pool and hot tub as well as a spa. If you’re spending any time around San Jose, even just a night, Finca Rosa Blanca is truly a special place worth visiting. Pura Vida.

What a wonderful welcome to Costa Rica. Come!!!

What a wonderful way to start our tour of Costa Rica! What makes this quirky, beautifully designed hotel SO special is its staff. From the outset, its architecture and individually designed rooms cheers you up - think Hundertwasser crossed with Fred Flintstone and you’ve got it. White buildings with curved walls and odd-shaped, huge windows. It’s SO comfortable. The food is fabulous, from the fresh fruit and fresh juice at breakfast before the à la carte choice right through to the wonderful dinner options. But what makes this place special is its staff. The hotel staff are friendly, knowledgable and passionate about their hotel, from reception to bar to restaurant with its terrific view over San Jose. The bird life is incredible. We took two tours with hotel staff. In the morning the utterly delightful Ulysses took us up to the Poas volcano and the first thing we saw was the Resplendent Quetzal!! How rare is that?!?! His knowledge and love of birds and his country meant we could have stayed all day. But I’m glad we didn’t since we spent the afternoon with Marianna on the coffee plantation. Her knowledge is encyclopaedic and we examined every plant, bird and butterfly before having a PROPER coffee tasting experience at the end. The torrential rain didn’t put us off at all. If youre coming to Costa RIca, come here. You’ll be glad you did.

Comfortable

We spent 2 night here. Although it’s not on a coffee plantation, the grounds are very nice. It is very well thought out for both rainy and dry weather. The only issue I had was the food. They are not very flexible on their menus and this is a problem for vegetarians. Also the takeaway breakfast they gave was laughable.

Beautiful, relaxing, and enriching

My wife and I had a delightful time. Fresh delicious coffee and food, engaging tours (we did coffee and birdwatching), on a beautiful property. We wished we had stayed longer to enjoy our time — well worth adding a few days to your trip to stay here

Beautiful hotel

We stayed at this amazing hotel for our first two nights in Costa RIca. Tired from our long flight, we were immediately uplifted when we went through the gates into this small boutique hotel. Our rooms were incredible! Large enough for several couples, really well equipped with fresh coffee and water, huge shower and such a comfy bed. The bar and restaurant area were intimate without being too close to other people, the food freshly cooked and delicious and friendly and smiley staff. We can thoroughly recommend the coffee tour (about 2 hours with a bit of an uphill climb) followed by a tasting and then cookies made with coffee bean flour - delicious! Nice pool (although not a huge number of sun loungers) and if you get a chance check out the poly tunnel where they grow all the fresh herbs and lettuces hung from the ceiling - genius! Lush gardens and lots of wildlife.

Our trip to Costa Rica was especially memorable - Finca Rosa Blanca was beautiful. The perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful interior of Costa Rica. The food was outstanding, and it was wonderful to dine and meet the other people who were staying there. The guest rooms and pool were also very welcoming and comfortable. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Finca Rosa Blanca.

Our first trip to Costa Rica was to the magnificent, elegant property called Finca Rosa Blanca. We were given great attention by their lovely staff, enjoyed organic and fresh cuisine by their on-site chef and relaxed on the grounds of an amazingly lush gated property. We were so taken with the experience that we purchased the same trip to return the following year!

We stayed in Costa Rica at Finca Rosa Blanca, and the experience provided us with a top-notch hotel room, unique and elegant, with added benefits like spa treatments, horseback riding, dinners with wine and so much more. With the quality of the facilities and the courtesy of the staff, every effort was always made to welcome us.

My brother and I had the pleasure of staying at Finca Rosa Blanca Country Inn in May. From the moment we stepped on the property we were treated not only as guest of the hotel, but also as a part of the Finca family. Our every need was addressed or taken care of with exemplary service. The room was very clean and the food was absolutely delectable. I plan to visit this resort again and again and again. We had a WONDERFUL time. From now on, I will utilize Luxury Link to make all of my travel arrangements. This visit proved that they recommend only the BEST!
