Stayed in the same room as the past, before new owner. Sadly we'll never return. No one on site. They give a phone # as well as a different text number, tried both 2 times and never received a response. Creamer in room curled in my coffee. TV didn't work. Torn towels. Ordered breakfast for 1st morning, told chef wasn't able to accommodate us. Funny since we were the only ones on the property. Main house locked, couldn't use lobby to get together with our friends. Terrible experience. Our room cost $650 for two nights. Our friends were going to stay Sunday night but they checked out early.

Worst experience ever! Felt like a "bait and switch". Website shows it as a friendly, gathering place. People smiling and eating etc. Bah! I had planned this wonderful weekend in Sutter Creek with my family and could not be more disappointed. 1. It was like a Ghost town. Could not even get into the main house. No greeting, no charm. Everything was done by text/or email. Even Ordering your breakfast!! It was robotic and impersonal. The internet service was spotty so trying to meet the "strict Ordering timelines" was difficult. The food - Horrible. They described a much different menu than what you received. (by the way, you only were served in your room, or in the garden outside at specific times). No mingling with guests or the innkeeper!. Is there an Innkeeper???Everything was packaged and the "hot breakfast" was a microwaved sandwich! Portions were small and measured. Coffee was only in a machine in your room. We have always liked B&B becasue they are homey and welcoming. Innkeepers who greet you, offer you a beverage or a treat, prepare a breakfast for you, let you relax in the main house and mingle if you want. This was NOTHING like that. A hotel room would have been better. As for the room, they are dated and felt oppressive with the amount of "dust catching" material everywhere. Vallences and canopy over bed was heavy material pleated. And all this for a huge nightly fee! Bah! This was NOT because of any "covid" reasons, this was June, 2023. It is just bad management.

I hesitated to give even one star to this property. To say it was a disappointment is not enough. Nothing in the description of this property reflect the reality. 1. The rooms? We were supposed to have a room wth a fireplace. The fireplace was non-functional but clearly once it worked. The TV was at least 50 years old, with no service on it. On the second ay of complaining we were offered to move to a much smaller room with no view. Oh yes, there was a chair with a torn up seat. 2. The breakfast? Nothing like that nice list on the web site. We got stale bagels, cold bear claws and some fruit medley that came straight out of a canned Fuit-cup. If there once was a hot breakfast, now there is not. The silver was tarnished and not clean. Certainly not the picture from the web site. If you order the lox-and-bagel, you get half a bagel. If you order bagel with cream cheese, you get a whole bagel. Since we were the only ones staying - we wondered where the other half bagel go from the lox-and-bagel. 3. The whole place is still stuck in Covid era - all common rooms are locked. Nobody greets you. You need to inhale breakfast at 8:30 or 9:00. Thats it. 4. No robes. No touch of luxury. This is a complete misrepresentation. Dont go.

I have stayed here many times prior to the new owner and loved it. It is advertised as a luxuy bed and breakfast..it is not any more. It is not the same or even close to as nice. The customer service is awful and the internet did not work in our room. Our Garden Room also had a TV from 1970 that did not work, we finally figured out the VHS player (yes you heard me-VHS). The town shuts down early and I was not feeling great so we wanted to watch a movie or some TV each night. No such luck. I spoke to the staff and emailed with my next morning's breakfast order and did not get a response or even a check in. The staff member mentioned something about the cable company, but not a fix. The bathroom smelled bad, so I just left the window open. Also the "savory" breakfast items were lunch options, not breakfast. I love a big HOT breakfast before wine tasting. You will not find that here. I emailed the ONLY email on the website with my issues twice along with two phone calls and only got a response when I put a note on instagram. REALLY? Very dissapointed. The response was filled with a lot of useless information with no one addressing our issues or offering a discount on this or our next stay. We will not be returning here.

We have stayed at this Inn many times when it was The Foxes Inn owned by Helwig and Heather was the innkeeper. We loved it! We heard it had been sold and decided for our 41st wedding anniversary to give it a try now that there are new owners. We so wish we hadn’t. We are so sad and disappointed. The building itself is still charming and its location is perfect but that is it. There is no one to greet you, everything is done via text or email. We never met the innkeeper/owner/staff. No personal connection at all! They say it is due to Covid but we think that is just an excuse as no other establishments we visited in Sutter Creek had those strict guidelines. There is no charm left at the inn. The breakfast was not a two course gourmet meal like before, it was fruit and a chewy bagel or what they called a ham and cheese croissant which tasted store-bought with deli ham and American cheese and heated in the microwave. The coffee cups were ice cold and they only give you enough coffee for one cup each. Skip breakfast and go out to eat instead. There are no fresh cookies in the parlor anymore, only a few in your room when you arrive. Our comforter was soiled, one towel was ripped, and only one bar of soap available for the sink, tub, and shower. The plush robes are no longer provided. There is no attention to detail, it is now just a place to sleep. We will not return and cannot recommend this establishment.
