Reviews for The Wickaninnish Inn

Disappointing meal

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

I rarely post reviews, but the experience at The Point Restaurant left me feeling I had no choice — others need to know. The Wickaninnish Inn itself is beautiful — stunning views, lovely hotel, and the service at The Point Restaurant was genuinely excellent. Our server was attentive and professional all evening. I want to be clear about that. But the food? That is another story entirely. Nearly $400 — and let me be specific about what that got us. Two mains. No appetizers. Just two 5oz glasses of Burrowing Owl wine. That's it. For that money, the food should have been extraordinary. It was not. Both meals arrived cold, and the flavours simply were not there. I ordered the sablefish, my wife had the surf and turf. Neither was worth a fraction of what we paid. This was actually our second visit to The Point. After our first disappointing meal we gave them the benefit of the doubt — everyone has an off night. This trip has removed all doubt. The food is just not good, and no amount of beautiful surroundings changes that.

Since we were there for our son’s first birthday, it meant a lot that the front desk and room service teams put so much thought into making the day special. Their warmth and attention made the celebration feel personal and memorable. Any small suggestions I’ve shared are just that—small—because the way your staff cared for our family truly stood out.

Gorgeous location, incredible rooms and amenities (including heated bathroom floors). Very professional and helpful staff and a very high ratio of staff to guests. The beauty and spaciousness of the inn is unique. They even have rain boots, pants and a slicker for you to use. The restaurants, spa,and common areas are A+++ The beauty of the very private feeling forest, beach and ocean are truly special. I have been there many times and each time it is more wonderful.
