**★★★☆☆** We recently stayed at Gateway Canyons Resort and had a mix of great and disappointing experiences. The biggest letdown was arriving to find the car museum closed. It was one of the main reasons we booked this trip, and no one notified us beforehand. Had we known, we would have planned differently. The activities offered by the resort were also surprisingly expensive, making it difficult to justify participating in many of them. Breakfast was disappointing. The buffet had very limited choices, and there were flies around the food. We ended up ordering from the egg station instead, and had two omelets, one mimosa, and one bottle of water, which came to **$116**. At those prices, we expected a much better dining experience. That said, there were definitely positives. The spa was absolutely amazing and was one of the highlights of our stay. The staff throughout the resort were also wonderful—friendly, welcoming, and genuinely trying to make our stay enjoyable. Our frustrations were with the resort's management and pricing, not the employees. One piece of advice for future guests: if you're driving in, bring a cooler with drinks and snacks. There aren't any food options nearby, and if you get hungry after 10:00 p.m., you're pretty much out of luck. Having a few snacks on hand will make your stay much more enjoyable. The setting is beautiful, and the property itself is stunning. However, for the premium price, we expected better communication about major closures, more reasonably priced activities and dining, and an overall experience that matched the luxury price tag. Overall, Gateway Canyons has incredible potential, but we left feeling that we paid luxury resort prices without receiving a luxury resort experience. We hope they address these issues because it truly is a beautiful place with an outstanding staff.

Great views, great experience. As a well-traveled local who has stayed at many luxury properties across Colorado, this is definitely one of the state's top hotels. Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa delivers an unforgettable escape with its stunning red rock canyon vistas, world-class spa services, and thoughtful attention to every detail that makes a stay truly special. Highly recommended!

Loved our stay at the resort. I was there a long time ago for less than 24 hours and had been wanting to come back for an extended stay. It was just the trip my husband and I needed. We will be back again!

Gateway Canyons Resort is truly one of the most magical places we've ever experienced. If you're looking to disconnect from the noise of everyday life and reconnect with what matters most, this is it. From the moment we arrived—with a golf cart ride to our villa, non-alcoholic bubbly, and refreshing watermelon yogurt bites—we felt ourselves exhale. The hospitality throughout our stay was simply unmatched. Every staff member made us feel genuinely cared for. Our family loved every experience: biking the property, touring the uranium mines, painting, the Chef's Dinner, and the unforgettable coffee with the donkey walk. Each activity was thoughtfully curated and made our stay feel incredibly special. As a business owner, I know how difficult it is to create this level of excellence across an entire property. Gateway Canyons does it beautifully. Beyond the luxury and service, there is something difficult to put into words about this place. The landscape, the stillness, and the energy create an experience that feels like stepping into another world. For us, it was one of the most spiritually grounding places we've ever visited—a place where reconnecting to yourself, your family, and the natural world comes effortlessly. It reminded us of the feeling we've experienced in places like Sedona, yet it remains uniquely its own. If you're looking for what may be the best value for a true five-star luxury experience in America, this is it. We arrived hoping for a little rest and relaxation and left with memories our family will treasure forever. We can't wait to return.

I'm a fifth-generation Coloradan, am a stalwart fan of Gate Gateway Canyons for multiple reasons, and this year's visit was the 5th year for our family. The first included my father and his nurse/companion when Gateway was just being built. Every time we go, I am further impressed with the integrity with which this vision was conceived and is being carried out. I speak with staff when I visit and every single staff member is consistent: The place is wonderful, the seasonal activities are fun, and they love the area and the vision for Gateway. All this by way of saying that I truly appreciate the hard work and emphasis on a private yet comprehensive experience on the Dolores near the Colorado Plateau.

I just wanted to take a minute to write about what a wonderful facility Gateway Canyons is. The accommodations were beautiful, food was fantastic and the staff was great to work with. We received an informative tour of the museum and they even helped us find the game in the Kiva Café Sunday morning. We told ourselves we would get up there from the day I toured with the VCB and it just didn't happen. I'm sorry we waited so long but it was well worth it. I'm glad to see the project continuing to grow given the economy. Thank you again for a fabulous getaway!
