Family Lunch

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We stopped here for lunch on way back from Placencia. We instantly fell in love with the resort and wished we had stayed here instead. The food was of good quality and there was even a kids menu. The service was good and the staff were very welcoming.

Just Book

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Just returned home from a week at Jaguar Reef and man - are we missing it already! Here's a summary of our experience: Staff: AMAZINGLY wonderful, genuinely kind and caring people. We have to shout out: Randolph (RJ) in reception, Capt. Larry in groundskeeping, Benny the chef at Paddle House and Shamika (Sham) the tour guide. Each and every one of these people made us feel super welcome, comfortable and relaxed. They treated us as warm and kind as if we were old friends. Truly never experienced such kindness at a resort ever. My 13 yr old son is still reminiscing on his conversations w Capt. Larry and my husband has been doing the same of RJ! Room & Hotel: We stayed in a two bedroom ocean view villa. It was incredibly spacious and comfortable for our small 3 person family. We had everything we needed in the full kitchen. It felt like the best of both worlds of staying in an Airbnb with an all inclusive resort feel and amenities. We enjoyed Paddle House and LOVED Don Tonitos for pizzas at any time of day. Be advised Paddle House (along w most restaurants in Hopkins) uses coconut and/or coconut oil in their cooking if you are allergic. I am and was easily able to share my allergy and be accommodated at the Lodge as well in restaurants in the village of Hopkins. We were so pleased to find not a single guest played the pool "towel game" to save chairs. We stayed during one of the few most busy times at the Lodge and were a little concerned about chair availability. We were easily able to find open pool chairs or beach cabanas - usually arriving to the pools around 9/10a. We even found chairs (in the sun - but still available!) after a half day excursion!! Hopkins Village and Belize: We rented both a car and a golf cart during our stay. We frequented off property restaurants in the village - with plenty in walking distance from the Lodge or a short golf cart ride away. We had breakfast and coffees almost every day from Black Orchid. Cleveland, Eamon and Blair were so wonderful to us - we felt like regulars by day 2! Other notable restaurants with great food were: La Trattoria, Meet.U, Maximo's and Ella's Cool Spot. Also make sure you don't sleep on the very easy to miss street tamales. Mark and his mom set up on a corner with a paint bucket full of delicious, large homemade tamales for just $3.50 Belizean (or $1.75 US). The residents of Hopkins are legitimately the nicest, kindest, most genuine people we have ever met. We're from NY, live in MD for the last 16 yrs and have traveled to over 15 countries. We have never experienced such pure kindness. I took 4 mile walks as a single woman many times during the trip, walking down main and country roads, without any fear or worry. The staff at the Lodge shared it was so safe in Hopkins, they left the hotel bicycles open, unlocked and have never had a single theft. They weren't kidding! Summary: Book the trip. You won't regret a single minute or dollar spent. Great food - wide selection of delicacies and options, rich, vibrant culture, proud and kind people, beautiful resort and an amazing location.

A perfect place for the most perfect honeymoon!!!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

What a perfect place for the most perfect honeymoon!!!! When we arrived in beautiful Belize, we stayed for 4 nights at Sleeping Giant, then 4 nights at The Banks - getting married at The Cliff - and then spent 6 nights at Jaguar Reef for our honeymoon ....It was utterly blissful and the best way/place to end off our wonderful, memory-filled vacation! And this was all thanks to Roberto Guerro, the amazing Wedding Coordinator for The Belize Collection!! We stayed in Villa A, which is absolutely beautiful with breathtaking, up-close, views of the ocean! We were welcomed by a lovely cold bottle of champagne, which was so sweet. Everything at Jaguar Reef was wonderful! The food, the drinks, the people, the warm ocean, the constant beautiful breeze. I could go on and on. We biked into Hopkins one day, which was super cute and not too far from the resort. There were a couple fun-looking and recommended restaurants and an ice cream shop, but not much else. The big souvenir shop had a lot to offer and the prices weren't too crazy - and there was a very adorable pup sleeping outside with an iguana on the bike rack when we went to leave. So, all-in-all a great experience! We did the bioluminescence boat tour, which was fun. Chris was a good 'lil story teller and kept us entertained. We saw small croc's, but no manatees. The bioluminescence was very cool! Although not the most exciting excursion, we had a great time and got to see a part of Belize that we would have otherwise missed. We mostly spent our days lazing around the villa, walking the grounds of all of the resorts that are included in the Belize Collection of resorts at Hopkins, reading, swimming in the crazily warm ocean, dipping in the plunge pool, having drinks on the loungers on the lanai, watching the pelicans, iguana's, little lizards etc. When I say it was pure bliss, it truly was. The hardest part was leaving!

I will never forget my honeymoon at the Jaguar Reef resort in Belize! I can honestly say it was one of the greatest experiences in my life! The trips, the food, the people, from the piña coladas to the friendly service, I would recommend this place to anyone and hope to make it back there again someday.

Paradise is the only word you need to describe the Jaguar Reef experience. Starting with one of the most beautiful places on earth and add the opportunity to share that with some of the friendliest, most generous people I've met, it's just a wonderful vacation. Special thanks to Stephanie! We will be back!
