What began in 1915 with a few tents on the shores of stunning Lac Beauvert has evolved into one of Canada's most beautiful resorts. Today, Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in Alberta's Jasper National Park is a breathtaking enclave of cedar chalets and heritage log cabins. Although secluded in its rugged landscape, this picturesque property tends to the desires of discriminating travelers, with an elegant spa and an array of refined dining dedicated to the bounties of the Great White North.

If you never left this property it would be okay. Sitting on one side of a lake, the scenery is simply exquisite. It has a loop trail on the lake that you can begin at the property and circle around the entire lake. They tow boats available as well as lawn games for the kids. Food was good as well. Lounge very comfortable. We loved the placed. Staff very helpful.

Stunning spot overlooking Lake but 5 km out of town Main building accomodation good but Lodges very dated and hot with only fans . Suggest you don’t stay in one . We arrived late after a full day of bus sightseeing and had the worst book in I ever had , which took well over an hour to resolve . The staff in general seemed very new , apart from a few standouts in Bar staff . Special mention to a new member of staff - Bradley the porter who was outstanding in empathy professionalism and kindness . But for him I think we would have left . So thanks Brad Eventually solved and give a very nice room in the main building . I was shaking with anger by then but enjoyed the next day of rest by not going on a prepaid 5 hour tour which was disappointing but wise for me Please visit Jasper - beauitiful little town and locals trying to rebuild after a dreadful forest fire last year which burnt 400 homes ,but saved many . The community spirit is touching and the surrounds so beautiful Careful booking at Fairmont for the price . This was our 5 th Fairmont so let the brand down ,

The location is in the park. Therefore I gave it a one instead of a zero. Expecting a room in the Lodge, we actually got a room in another building. Our reservation advised us to ask for an upgrade, but we were advised at check in to keep the room we had because it faced the lake. Actually, parking is not near the buildings, there are no elevators, the building faced the lake, but you couldn't actually see the lake, the stairways and halls were filthy, the bathroom was the tiniest I have ever experienced. The dinner service was interminable, the food fair at best. Diners at other tables waited over an hour for their meals, complalined about the food and some left. We had a reservation for weeks in a dining room that was closed and yet we recieved several conflicting reminders to confirm and then that it was closed. Absolute chaos!

Depending on where you stay on the resort will affect your satisfaction. The resort is well designed. There is a pool, lake rentals, yard games, bike rentals. Of course, there is a resort fee to cover this. There are a few restaurants on site. We ate at the Great Hall which served casual fare. The resort is pricey. We had a “cabin” in the Signal Cabins. Not a cabin at all but a basic hotel room. When you come in the room and all the floor fans are on you know they don’t have AC. (Apparently you have to have an even more expensive rental). I’ve never understood that in these towns. The temp is in the mid to upper 70s or even 80s during the day and rooms get quite warm. It takes some time to get comfortable. The room was clean. The bed comfortable. Shower was updated. Everything else in the room was dated, woodwork damaged, and definitely not worth the price. The paint on the exterior was peeling and needed maintenance. I guess if you go to the higher end rentals you would be more satisfied. We were not.

You cannot beat the beautiful setting in the Rockies. JPL is lucky to be where it is! We pulled in for a walk and a high quality lunch. (No accommodations) Valet was super friendly, the flowers and grounds are amazing. The hostesses terrible, the new waitress was attentive, the food was complete garbage! You will pay premium at this location, acceptable, if remotely worth it.
