Set on the edge of Bandhavgarh National Park, Samode Safari Lodge offers exceptional service in an extraordinary environment. The hotel’s design is clearly inspired by local colorful architecture, and the decor and setting is distinctly Indian. The main lounge is the heart of the lodge, with two large wood burning fireplaces and great views, it opens onto a large wooden open-air deck which overlooks the property. Separate, elegantly furnished and decorated lodges look out onto the wilderness and are filled with all the modern amenities you could possibly wish for – even a beautiful outside bathroom, to compliment your inside bathroom!

We have had the most amazing time at Samode. All the staff could not be more kind and gracious. The lodge itself is stunning and individual cottages are huge, well laid out and made for quiet comfort. The chef is top notch and loved dinners served in different settings on the property. They also accommodated my vegan diet nicely. We had amazing tiger sightings including see Dottie! Saw four tigers up close and others a bit further away. Also, saw many beautiful birds. Highly recommend!

I could not be more impressed with Samode Safari Lodge. I've traveled all over the world and have done 5-star safari camps in Africa and wildlife areas elsewhere. Samode is equal to any place I've stayed and far surpassed many. You will be very pleased if you go there. The room was beautifully appointed--very well designed. The service was amazing. The staff were so attentive, led by their wonderful manager. She thought of everything we might need. There even was a lovely gift shop with beautiful local art--something we did not see elsewhere. Our naturalist guide, Yashveer, was truly the best I've ever encountered in my travels. He is incredibly knowledgable and well read about the native plants and animals (we were lucky to see many tigers) and also about Indian culture and traditions. We learned so much about the languages, the Gods, the people, and Indian history from him. His English was impeccable, and he was happy to answer all of our questions. Thank you SO much to Samode and Yash. They were the incredibly delightful highlight of our 12-day stay in India. If you go to India, definitely make Samode part of your itinerary. I can't say enough good things about them. You just need to experience Samode for yourself.

Wonderful experience at Samode Safari Lodge. The lodge is beautiful and the staff are very warm and gracious. I can't say enough about their hospitality. Our drives into the tiger reserve were fantastic and our guide was very accomodating. We were very lucky to see a tiger on our last day. The lodge is top notch and compared well with luxury safari trips we have been on in Africa. The park is a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of India. Although it is a bit of a trek to reach the lodge at Bandhavgarh you won't be disappointed once you arrive. Top notch accommodations, service and food! Thank you to the staff for making our tiger safari one of our top travel experiences!

This is truly a five star experience. The staff are all very friendly and attentive, our villa was luxurious (particularly enjoyed the outside shower!) and the food was plentiful and delicious. And as for the game drives …. Our guide, Yash was excellent. Very knowledgeable and also managed to find us some great viewings of Tigers - we saw 4 Tigers in 5 game drives, along with Asian elephants, sloth bear, jackal and lots of beautiful birds and deer. One of our fightings of a Tiger was particularly close up. And to cap it all, as it was both of our birthdays whilst there, we were treated to a special candlelight dinner in a beautiful private location. Altogether an amazing experience that we will never forget.

Samode is a truly magical place, from the accommodations, the food, the service and the guiding! Yash is a master at tracking tigers, and almost seems to think like a tiger.
