Come to Africa to see the wilderness of ancient plains, where some of the world's most stunning animals roam, and find the equally unfettered luxury at the intimate and exclusive Royal Mara Safari Lodge. In Kenya's legendary Masai Mara, an area collectively owned by local Maasai tribes, wildlife is carefully protected and able to roam without fences or barriers. It is here that one can really see the power of untamed animals, from hippos to lions to giraffes and elephants, hunting and lounging and grazing. An experience that is unique and life-altering in itself, is made even more sublime by the impeccable service, romantic accommodations and breathtaking treks into the wild, provided by the Royal Mara.

big thank you to George and the team at Royal Mara for making my first safari one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Everything was first class—the vehicles, service, rooms, food, and the camp itself. The guides were exceptional: highly knowledgeable, deeply attuned to the environment, and were always able to locate animals, while explaining their behavior in a way that made each sighting feel even more meaningful. Traveling in the off-season turned out to be an excellent decision. On every drive, we had incredible encounters while sharing the experience with very few other vehicles. This made it feel intimate and unhurried. Being on this land with these beautiful animals was deeply spiritual. One unforgettable highlight was a night drive with a pride of lions as they hunted. We followed alongside them as they chased zebras—it was raw, intense, and at moments I felt like part of the pride. I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to safari and would highly recommend Royal Mara to anyone considering a trip to Kenya.

I took my wife on safari for a birthday present. The Royal Mara was the perfect destination for adventure, for quiet time, for incredible dining and the best service. Attentive staff were always around to assist - no request was too much. The safari guides were very experienced and knowledgeable. They went out of their way to help me get our best photos. Most memorable: the chef baked a birthday cake for my wife that we shared with other guests and it was the best surprise because we didn't know it was coming. The staff sang a Swahili birthday song - this was the best cultural experience. I want to go back.

They were very friendly and accommodating since I had my daughter with me . We received the best service, it’s a kid friendly place too and not to forget the food which was exceptional as well. I’d definitely go back again. The hygiene of the place was excellent too. The rooms were spacious and esthetically pleasing. The location is good as well and the game drives are worth it.

We took a family vacation at Royal Mara Game resort. The property met and exceeded our expectations by a mile. We drove from Ololunga Town and took 2 hours to get to the lodge. The welcome party by Mishy, Chef Peter, Kasaine, Anne and the entire team was so amazing. The Lodge is not fenced off hence one is able to see game from ones balcony. The luxury tents are tastefully done with a Mara river facing balcony and a bathtub. We saw hippos, crocodiles, gazzelles and giraffes from.pur tent balcony. The meals were ala carte with a good choice. The food and drinks were delicious and service by Anne and Towett were fantastic. We took three game drives of which one was a night one. Kasaine and James the tour guides did an amazing job We managed too see two prides of lions, Cheeter, Elephants, buffalo and hippos. The resort arranged for bush breakfast and different culinary experience every single day. We dined, drunk and were refreshed after the four day vacation.

This place is amazing. My "tent" if you want to call it that, was really a small lodge. The food is amazing. I heard that they lured away some of the best chefs in the Mara for the camp. And they are right in the middle of the game action. I know where I'm going back when I go again.
