Come to Africa to see the wilderness of ancient plains, where some of the world's most stunning animals roam, and find the equally unfettered luxury at the intimate and exclusive Royal Mara Safari Lodge. In Kenya's legendary Masai Mara, an area collectively owned by local Maasai tribes, wildlife is carefully protected and able to roam without fences or barriers. It is here that one can really see the power of untamed animals, from hippos to lions to giraffes and elephants, hunting and lounging and grazing. An experience that is unique and life-altering in itself, is made even more sublime by the impeccable service, romantic accommodations and breathtaking treks into the wild, provided by the Royal Mara.

Royal Mara was the perfect place for our first safari. From its location in Mara North Conservancy, the beautiful grounds and gorgeous tent, our guide, Simon, who worked so hard to make every game drive a new and wondrous experience, and the fabulous service at the lodge, it was a trip that exceeded expectations in every way. We saw over 50 distinct species! My daughter dreamed of seeing cheetahs, and our guide found a cheetah within 15 minutes of landing at the conservancy. Everything about our trip was extra special, but the staff made it especially wonderful. We were served wonderful food by Ann and Frances, Anthony (the manager), greeted us when we arrived and checked on us daily, Millicent helped get us situated and organized everything for us, Simon was the best escort and always made sure to point out anything special he spotted so we didn't miss anything, Elijah made sure our room was squared away and our morning tea was the best and Daniel was super helpful, too. Our guide Simon went above and beyond and found super elusive species, including a leopard and a serval cat. He was super knowledgeable and kind, and we loved our last breakfast that he set up for us in the Savannah. We can't wait to bring the rest of our family back!

This was the most amazing stay we have ever had. You seriously need to stay here- stop looking and book now. This is the 40th country I’ve visited across six continents and this hotel and the staff are the most amazing by far. Gilbert is the kindest person we’ve met and Simon our safari guide was fantastic. Millie also was always on top of everything and Dennis was so informative. Calvin the chef was also amazing all the food was great. Everyone else was amazing- not a single person wasn’t so smiley and kind and welcoming. They are so attentive to each and every one of your needs and go above and beyond at every moment. They make you feel like you are the only guest and the most important. The tents are huge and so comfortable and well equipped. They even had long lasting hot water and very strong wifi, which was a nice surprise considering how remote it is. There is always someone available to walk you around the property. You see the hippos in the river and hear them all night long, which is a fun experience. The safari guides are fantastic and you are just minutes away from so many animals. 100000/10 would recommend!

For our first safari trip ever we decided to travel to Kenya, Mara North Conservancy. Accommodation and the whole experience at Royal Mara camp was amazing and right inside the conservancy. The food was superb and so were the staff. We had a guard to escort us around the camp in case of animals coming to visit. Staying in a tent like accommodation, with all the luxuries including a bath, meant that we could hear the nature the whole time and we love that! Our permanent neighbours were hippos in the nearby river Mara plus lots of other animals that appeared when quiet & especially at night. There were two safari trips a day and each one was different and unique. We made some very special memories ❤️.

The Royal Mara Lodge came highly recommended by many friends and it did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived until departure we were taken care of by the wonderful staff. We had a great safari guide, waiter (for each meal) and security man to escort us when the hippos were out. Our 'tent' was amazing. We have traveled a lot and this was the nicest accommodations we've experienced . (the photos are accurate). We saw so many animals, enjoyed breakfast in the field on safari and had delicious meals at the lodge. Royal Mara is smaller and more intimate than many of the other camps and we loved that. We would stay here again

It was the most incredible experience, whilst at one with nature, utter luxury too. The location is unbelievable, literally on the bank of the Mara River full of hippos. They are a constant entertainment from your balcony-or even your bed or actually your bath too. At night you have to be escorted as there are hippos, and even lions and elephants roaming around. The rooms are beautiful The service is probably the best I’ve ever experienced. The game drives were fabulous, our Masai guide knew the land like the back of his hand. Always felt safe. The surprise sunset drinks in the middle of the savanna topped everything! Will absolutely return Thank you team

This place is amazing. My "tent" if you want to call it that, was really a small lodge. The food is amazing. I heard that they lured away some of the best chefs in the Mara for the camp. And they are right in the middle of the game action. I know where I'm going back when I go again.
