About the Hotel

Join us deep in the heart of the world’s most celebrated wildlife reserves, where the Big Five – the lion, the leopard, the buffalo, the elephant and the rhinoceros – run free on the endless, untamed landscape. Perched on a series of elevated platforms and walkways, our Lodge sits next to an animal watering hole, where you can watch a family of elephants stop for their morning drink as you sip your own out on your room’s private balcony. Under the constant protection of local Maasai tribes people, we’ll take you in the bush for an exhilarating game drive, or you can soar high in the sky on a hot-air balloon safari. However you spend your day, our Spa is waiting to help you rehydrate, restore and re-energize for your next adventure. Our only question – where would you like to begin?

We just returned from an amazing 3 week trip to Tanzania & Zanzibar and spent 3 heavenly nights at the Four Seasons Lodge. The property was grand with beautiful vistas, spacious suites, and better yet the most incredible staff with an exceptional leadership team. After having a minor room hiccup at checkin, that was graciously resolved, we were fortunate enough to meet the Head of food and Beverage Mr. Skander Gharbi who went above and beyond to ensure we had the most memorable stay. He was an absolute gem of a man who really made our visit so special! We also had the privilege of meeting Chefs Mustafa, Ahmed & Abdelrahman who made us mouthwatering meals every day and made a point to ensure my daughter and I had plenty of vegetarian options to choose from. We were so grateful for their thoughtfulness and culinary talent!! We even met the GM Ms. Marisa and she was so lovely and genuine and it was obvious she really cared about her employees and guests. We were treated like family and truly felt at home. All of the staff members were so kind to our 7 year old daughter, it meant the world to us! Shout out to Alex at the pool, Kassi at the discovery center, Aminah, Anne, Rita, Gailos, Gift, Emmanuel at the pancake station, and especially all of the chefs and Mr. Skander Gharbi. Thank you for making my 40th bday one to remember. We have stayed at other four seasons properties and other luxury hotels, but they all paled in comparison to this Serengeti lodge. Do not hesitate to book your stay, we loved our time there and can't wait to return in the future! Tanzania is a country full of so much love beauty and kindness; it was an absolute honor to experience it! Asanti Sanaa Four Seasons Serengeti, until we meet again! xo Louza, Hany & Leilani

Four Seasons Serengeti- Perfection

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

I can’t rave enough about my stay. It was perfection and I have not one complaint. So let’s get into it. The reason I am a FS fan is service tends to be consistent across the brand. I expected good service but given the remote location I was not expecting the exceptional level of service that was delivered. The staff here are so genuine, quickly embracing and welcoming me to their family during my short stay and is a testament to the management team. Shoutouts to: Hans, Vicky, Fausta, Denice, Alex, Anne, Thomas, Kassi, Pluto, Khadijah, Mina, Kulwa, Elmira and so many others who’s names I’ve forgotten. Room- is spacious and the view from balcony is unlike any other. Elephants walking past multiple times during my stay to the watering hole was a definite highlight. The bed was comfortable and the soaking tub welcomed at the end of long game drives across bumpy roads. Food- due to location, it is all inclusive property but unlike those in Mexico and the Caribbean. FS really invests in quality ingredients and you can taste it. I was NOT expecting a fine dining experience in the bush, but as always FS delivered. They ensure you are well fed during your entire stay from pickup to drop off, whether on property or tours. I dined at Boma, The Vino and the Bush dinner. Boma is traditional food with a show by a few of the local staff set in a larger version of a traditional Masi hut with fire pit. It was cool the evening I was there but blankets were provided. Food was delicious and I appreciated the staff sharing a bit of their culture. Vino is set inside so you can wear something nice. There is a wine cellar room in the Serengeti overlooking the pool as only FS could do. I had a multi corse meal with wine pairings throughout and slept soundly that night. Now my favorite dining experience was the one I was most hesitant about trying- the Bush dinner- due to safety concerns. However, if you can swing it during your stay, be like Nike and just do it. It was the most peaceful and serene dining experience with the sunset, a roaring fire, and a few stars peaking out from the clouds to accompany the multi-course meal. There were Rangers and staff were present so I never felt unsafe. Truly an unforgettable experience. Activities- I opted to go a la carte and choose activities that the hotel arranged. You can certainly use a tour operator but I was extremely happy with the resort’s concierge who replied to my numerous yet sporadic emails. Game drives- I did a 2hr game drive from airstrip to hotel and we saw A LOT, 2 hr walking safari with Kassi and Rangers Pluto and Khadijah, full day game drive to the migration and a half day morning drive. My driver Hans was with me during my entire stay from airport pickup to drop-off. Your driver is KEY to the safari experience and mine did the darn thing. I saw lots of animals- including 4 of the Big 5 Elephants, Buffalo, Lions, and Leopard- as I didn’t have enough time to go to Angora Crater to see the Rhinoceros. I did witness the wildebeest and zebra migration including THREE river crossings while enjoying lunch. Like what, where they do THAT??? FS Serengeti of course!!! Hot Air Balloon Ride- it was an early morning starting with a 4am pickup but absolutely worth it. I’ve done a hot air balloon ride in Morocco but never a Safari balloon ride. We saw lots of animals from the air- elephants, wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, hippopotami, gazelles, buffalo. Afterwards is a champagne toast and breakfast. Because I was on a tight schedule, I skipped the balloon breakfast. However, my driver met me at the balloon landing site with a to go picnic breakfast. Spa- I had one of the 2-hour signature treatments which was the best way to end my visit. My therapist has magic hands and I fell asleep for a bit. I’ve stayed at several FS properties and this one surpassed my expectations delivering a truly memorable once in a life time experience! I am so incredibly grateful and have no hesitation recommending a stay here. You will not be disappointed!

Amazing place

Stayed here 2 nights while on safari and had a great experience. Hotel grounds and rooms were beautiful and immaculate. Food was excellent with many options to choose from. One of the biggest perks was the option to select your picnic lunch on driving days (most places don’t allow this) which includes beer, wine, & champagne. The staff and services were the highlight of our stay - they anticipate your needs and nothing is too much trouble. Shout out to Anne and her brother Alex for making my birthday dinner so special.

Appalled by Discriminatory Treatment and Poor Management Response

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

I stayed at Four Seasons Serengeti for two days and was deeply disappointed by what appeared to be discriminatory treatment at Maji restaurant, followed by an inadequate response from senior management to my formal complaint. **What Happened:** **Day 1 - Lunch:** The restaurant manager made rounds greeting guests and explaining the restaurant's features. Despite our table being the first outdoor seating, he completely skipped us and spent several minutes with each table of white guests nearby. When he finally reached our table, he briefly asked "how was your food?" without stopping and moved on immediately. **Day 1 - Dinner:** The pattern repeated. The manager explained daily specials and restaurant features to white guests at length but didn't acknowledge our table at all. I observed he similarly ignored three other tables with Asian guests, making the differential treatment quite obvious. **Management Response:** I filed a formal complaint with the lodge's senior manager (Manager A), who promised feedback by day's end. Instead, a different manager (Manager B) interrupted our dinner at Boma 10 minutes later, claiming it was "100% a misunderstanding" without investigating or asking for my account. When I requested he leave so we could discuss this properly after dinner, neither he nor any staff followed up despite our waiting until 11pm. **Their Explanations:** 1. The restaurant manager is Indonesian (irrelevant and doesn't preclude discrimination against East Asian guests) 2. He "didn't want to disturb us" (doesn't explain identical treatment across multiple Asian tables or the stark contrast with white guests) **My Concerns:** Having lived in the US, I understand racism often manifests as deliberate exclusion rather than overt hostility. The consistent pattern of engagement with white guests versus complete disregard for Asian guests was unmistakable. **What I'm Requesting:** - Formal investigation of these incidents - Written response with corrective actions - Implementation of protocols ensuring equal treatment for all guests As someone who frequently stays at Four Seasons properties worldwide, I'm particularly disappointed. I strongly advise fellow Asian travelers to consider alternative accommodations or, if staying here, to be prepared to advocate for equal treatment.
