From the moment we arrived we made welcome. Everything was explained to us on arrival and we went out on Safari in the afternoon and met our guide Albert and his tracker SC who we remained with for the whole trip. Their knowledge ensured that every trip we had a different experience. The food and the service was just amazing.

The lodge was impressive. My guide Sibo is amazing. We saw every animal imaginable and up close. He was very attentive and made me feel welcomed.

In an age where our digital devices connect us virtually to the world's wonders, Sabi Sabi rooted my attention to uncharted realms of my human experience. Beyond the thrill of viewing the Big 5 as close as my TV screen is from my couch, the flow state that emerged between dining at Bush Lodge, my safari-themed suite, and insightful chats with Sabi's rangers, trackers, and hospitality team was unforgettable. Each wake-up knock at 5:30 for a sunrise game drive signalled the start of endless possibilities around each corner. Coffee around a watering hole where both predator and prey quench their thirst as the sun greeted the bushveld inspired all our breakfast and lunch conversations. Evenings under the boma after sundowners presented a delightful realm for celebrating our adventures, with food islands specialising in game meat, gourmet grills, seafood, and wholesome salads and vegetable dishes. The unspoken respect with which our rangers and trackers approached animals gave us close encounters with lions walking off their supper and leopards stalking their morning prey an arm's length from our 4x4. It was a remarkable feeling like part of the wild, not mere passing observers. Most memorable experience? The way I felt at home in the wildest environment I had ever encountered. Sabi's team were as attentive as they were heartwarmingly hospitable. There was not one moment where I had to ask for something, or unlock my phone to google information, my regimented schedule dissolved with each moment in the bushveld. Given Bush Lodge is unfenced, waking up to lions, owls, and elephants offering their morning greetings instead of traffic hoots took me back hundreds of years to where explorers only had a tent between them and the rawest elements of Africa. It’s rare to encounter an expanse of land where wild animals are honoured with such intentionality in their natural habitat. Sabi Sabi Foundation’s work supporting ecotourism, healthcare, and education highlighted how humankind and Africa’s wildlife can thrive in harmony. One way to express the life-changing experience was in my “Hamba kahle” or “Safe travels” farewell card with “May the footprint of South Africa always remain in your heart." Could not express it any better - thank you to the entire Sabi Sabi team for everything!

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we were made to feel like part of the family. Our accommodation was exceptionally comfortable and incredibly spacious, featuring a wonderful seating area, a huge bathroom with an outdoor shower, a very comfortable bed, and a large, fully stocked minibar. What truly made our stay special, however, were the people. In every area of the lodge, the staff were warm, friendly, and attentive. The level of service was exceptional, always delivered with genuine smiles. Conrad, the lodge manager, remembered our names and was always there to welcome us back from our game drives and to see us off again. His leadership and management style are at the heart of what makes this lodge so special. We really enjoyed spending time chatting with him at the bar—it felt relaxed and genuinely welcoming—and the wine tasting he hosted was a real highlight of our stay. He clearly has a passion for wine, which is reflected in the excellent selection available to enjoy with both lunch and dinner. Although we were unlucky with the weather and experienced a lot of rain, it didn’t diminish our experience in the slightest—we loved every minute of our stay. We enjoyed seven game drives with our ranger, Ulric, and our tracker, Nkosi, and were fortunate to see an abundance of wildlife. Ulric’s knowledge, passion, and enthusiasm were truly infectious. The food was outstanding at every meal, with plenty of choice and every dish absolutely delicious. We were delighted to learn more about the history of the company through conversations with some of the trainees. The family who own the business have clearly invested in meaningful community projects and developed excellent training programmes. We loved every minute and are planning when we can return. We cannot recommend Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge highly enough. Thank you.

To visit Sabi Sabi's Earth Lodge is a chance of a lifetime to participate in the very best of a world class bush experience. Thanks to the diligence & commitment of our ranger/tracker team, the game viewing was spectacular. Add to this the experience of staying in a luxury lodge with large comfortable suites, fine cuisine, excellent facilities and a level of camaraderie not often found in such surroundings and you truly have the best in the world. This all made for yet another truly memorable visit, never to be forgotten!
