Reviews for Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve

What an amazing experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Our family had the best time at Sabi Sabi! This place will make sure you make memories for life thanks to your great eye for details and incredible staff. You made us feel at home from the first moment. The lodges were luxurious, clean and beautiful. On top the food was exquisite. Our amazing waiter, Italy, made sure we had the best service at every meal. His enthusiasm was infectious and he always made sure everything was looked after. But it were our two rangers, Candy and Jack, who have truly made our stay incredible! Their expertise about the nature and animals combined with their amazing character made our safari one that will be very hard to surpass in the future. Apart from viewing the big five and other species more than regularly, they also made sure we had some amazing encounters with the animals (cheetahs chasing other species, lions mating, ...). After four days, Candy, Jack and Italy felt like family. At the end of our stay it was not easy to say goodbye to them :). Over all we can only very much recommend Sabi Sabi bush lodge, because an amazing adventure is guaranteed! We look forward to coming again.

High end family safari - Full Send

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

This place is insane in a good way. If you’re going to do a safari and want to go full send then this is the place. Food - 10/10. Every night we tried all sorts of cool stuff from zebra, ostrich, empala etc. also had great kids choices if your traveling with children. Safari - sabi sabi is one of the largest private reserves. This makes it so you don’t have to deal with all the tourists and overcrowding. Vehicles head out in the drives in all different directions. Guides communicate with each other a great deal so if one sees something cool they can relay that info to others so they can visit after the others are gone. Helps so there’s no overcrowding but you get to see all the cool stuff Neo the guide and Temba the tracker are studs. Locals to the bone, speak the native language but also great English which is ideal, at least for our family anyway. Request them. Just email sabi sabi and lock them in ChatGPT will have good tipping guides but include the amount of people, durations etc. I would have the appropriate Rand in hand because if your put it in a credit card they don’t get the tips for something like 6 weeks. Kinda wild so they appreciate getting cash. Since their currency is so weak it feels like your Tony Montana carrying around stacks of cash but whatever. You get to feel cool for a little while. We traveled as a family of 5. 3 children under 12. There was a great mix of couples on honeymoons, anniversaries and families alike. Definitely a 5 star location so kids felt swanky. Everyone gets along and shares about the things they’ve seen all day whether you were in your early 40’s or older then the late Betty white :) We booked two rooms but honestly all 5 of us could have easily fit into one bungalow/villa. Rooms are amazing. Showers kick ass.

5-Star Safari Experience - You Can't Go Wrong Staying Here

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My wife and I recently spent 4 nights at Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge. From the game drives to the food, our suite, the lodge property, and the staff everything was top notch. From the time we were met at the Skukuza airport until we were dropped off for our flight out, we were treated great. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and treated us well. Our suite was spacious and very comfortable. Our ranger Alex and tracker Nkosi were terrific. We saw 4 of the big 5 on our first game drive and quickly rounded out with the 5th. Besides the Big 5 we saw giraffe, zebra, hyenas, Africn wild dogs, wildebeest, nyala, baboons, monkeys, warthogs, and more impala than you can imagine. For me the most exciting parts of our stay was the times we went off road to get closer to the animals or else follow them as they moved through the bush. I could not believe how close we were able to get to elephants, lions, and even a leopard. The food at Sabi Sabi is fantastic. If you are a carnivore like I am you can feats on prime rib, filets, tomahawk ribeye steaks, and wild game. Plus chicken, seafood, a huge salad station and lots of sides. We were lucky that the weather was favorable our entire stay so we were able to eat dinner under the stars with a roaring wood fire plus propane heaters. The South African wines they served were very good. Besides dinner, the buffet breakfast and lunch had everytning anyone could want. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and staying at Sabi Sabi made it even better. Book hee with confidence.

Best trip ever!

Our family had the best time and loved every detail of our stay at Sabi Sabi. Every detail was thought out for maximum enjoyment during our stay. Exciting game drives, delicious food and fabulous quarters. We went during the African winter, so days were warm, but nights quite cool. The scenery is amazing and loved being able to watch elephants, and other wildlife right from our hut. The watering home was quite the attraction for wildlife!

Unforgettable luxury stay!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge exceeded every expectation—the photos simply do not do it justice. From top to bottom, the level of luxury and service was immaculate. Our daily schedule was effortless: a 6:30 AM morning game drive, returning around 9:30 AM for breakfast, followed by open hours to relax and enjoy the lodge. Lunch was served at 1:00 PM and afternoon tea at 3:00 PM, leading right into the 3:30 PM evening drive. Returning around 6:30 PM, everyone would gather at the bar to share safari stories before dinner was called at 7:00 PM. Even on chilly mornings and evenings, the team thought of everything—providing warmed blankets on the safari vehicles, hot coffee (and hot chocolate for the kids) on morning stops, and evening cocktails in the bush. Our guide, Jabu, and tracker, Hebert, were phenomenal. Beyond helping us spot the Big Five and countless other species, they made us feel entirely safe while sharing deep insights into animal behavior and tracking. We loved spending time chatting with them. The culinary team delivered incredible meals, with atmospheric Boma dinners standing out as a true highlight. There was a mix of traditional and more adventurous dishes which even our children tried and liked. Our server, Petunia, and the housekeeping team were equally flawless. Our two-bedroom, two-bathroom villa offered ample space for our family of four (including two teenagers) to relax during afternoon downtime. It was beautifully decorated and kept spotless, featuring thoughtful touches like a fully stocked minibar, evening turndown service and pre-warmed beds on cool nights. The kids loved both our private plunge pool and the main pool, and we spent hours on our lodge deck watching wildlife at the nearby waterhole—including zebra, impala, bushbuck, giraffe, elephants, and even hippos—along with friendly visits from local monkeys right on our deck. We wouldn't change a single thing about our experience and highly recommend Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge to anyone!

To visit Sabi Sabi's Earth Lodge is a chance of a lifetime to participate in the very best of a world class bush experience. Thanks to the diligence & commitment of our ranger/tracker team, the game viewing was spectacular. Add to this the experience of staying in a luxury lodge with large comfortable suites, fine cuisine, excellent facilities and a level of camaraderie not often found in such surroundings and you truly have the best in the world. This all made for yet another truly memorable visit, never to be forgotten!
