Unforgettable luxury stay!

Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge exceeded every expectation—the photos simply do not do it justice. From top to bottom, the level of luxury and service was immaculate. Our daily schedule was effortless: a 6:30 AM morning game drive, returning around 9:30 AM for breakfast, followed by open hours to relax and enjoy the lodge. Lunch was served at 1:00 PM and afternoon tea at 3:00 PM, leading right into the 3:30 PM evening drive. Returning around 6:30 PM, everyone would gather at the bar to share safari stories before dinner was called at 7:00 PM. Even on chilly mornings and evenings, the team thought of everything—providing warmed blankets on the safari vehicles, hot coffee (and hot chocolate for the kids) on morning stops, and evening cocktails in the bush. Our guide, Jabu, and tracker, Hebert, were phenomenal. Beyond helping us spot the Big Five and countless other species, they made us feel entirely safe while sharing deep insights into animal behavior and tracking. We loved spending time chatting with them. The culinary team delivered incredible meals, with atmospheric Boma dinners standing out as a true highlight. There was a mix of traditional and more adventurous dishes which even our children tried and liked. Our server, Petunia, and the housekeeping team were equally flawless. Our two-bedroom, two-bathroom villa offered ample space for our family of four (including two teenagers) to relax during afternoon downtime. It was beautifully decorated and kept spotless, featuring thoughtful touches like a fully stocked minibar, evening turndown service and pre-warmed beds on cool nights. The kids loved both our private plunge pool and the main pool, and we spent hours on our lodge deck watching wildlife at the nearby waterhole—including zebra, impala, bushbuck, giraffe, elephants, and even hippos—along with friendly visits from local monkeys right on our deck. We wouldn't change a single thing about our experience and highly recommend Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge to anyone!

Really really good

Sabi Sabi Bush lodge was beautiful. We originally planned to stay here for 4 nights in the Mahlatini villa with the 6 of us (4 adults and 2 kids). But because of a medical issues (blood clots) of a family member who was travelling with us, we ended up staying for 8 nights. So we want to start thanking all the staff for their support. And a special thanks to Lauren, who was our contact and really helpful in this difficult time.  The villa was stunning. It has 2 bedrooms and both bedrooms can have one extra child. It has a lovely terrace with a heated pool (apparently the heated pool was a new feature in testing phase). It was sometimes a bit chilly outside, so the heated pool was perfect. We were lucky to have sometimes Nyala and Bushbuck in front of our terrace. The terrace doesn't give you any views, a lot of bushes are around it. There is also a big main swimming pool at the big main deck, but is was a bit to cold to swim (it's not heated). The food was really good. The breakfast is a buffet, but they also cook eggs etc. fresh for you. The same is for lunch and dinner. We really enjoyed the grilled meats. During all the meals we had 'mama z' (Zenzelini) serving us, she was so sweet! Our kids loved the kidsclub (EleFun Centre). The staff is really friendly, helping and playing with the kids. It was also quite funny to see the monkeys jumping on the trampoline and playing with the swings. On the game drives we had Imelda as our ranger and Mandla as our tracker. Imelda told us lots about the animals, but also the stars, the plants, the bugs. The rangers here also have dinner with you, that's really good, you get to know them a bit better. And for us important, they were both really good and patient with kids. Imelda was really good at explaining things to the children. Our daughter wanted to see a Genet, which is really hard to find. But the Ranger arranged for us to go to another lodge, where a Genet often appears. And we were lucky to see one over there. The game drives were very good. We were lucky to see a big variety of wildlife (Lions, Leopards, Wild dogs, Genet, Hyena’s, Rhino’s, Giraffe’s, Zebra’s Kudus, Birds, Hippos, Crocodiles, etc..). A few of the special things we saw: a standoff between a few rhino's and a big elephant, a leopard eating an impala, a white baby zebra, hyenas following wild dogs, lions mating. It was a weird week for us, but the staff made it a great experience.

Incredible stay and safari.

It was impressive how kind and hands on all of the staff were present to every need we possibly had. I’ve rarely stayed in a hotel with such high and detailed service before (other than palace in very big cities), thus having the same level of attention in the middle of the bush was mind blowing. I’d like to give a mention to the Chef and his team as well. Different eggs every morning (especially ostrich) and the daily diners (we did not attend lunches) were mind blowing and incredibly good. Again, this level of cuisine in the middle of the bush was completely mind blowing.

Every aspect of the Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge is outstanding: accommodations, food, staff, guides & trackers for safari. Our 4 days here were stimulating and relaxing. The private reserve made our bush experience memorable beyond expectation. I wish we could live at the Sabi Sabi.

To visit Sabi Sabi's Earth Lodge is a chance of a lifetime to participate in the very best of a world class bush experience. Thanks to the diligence & commitment of our ranger/tracker team, the game viewing was spectacular. Add to this the experience of staying in a luxury lodge with large comfortable suites, fine cuisine, excellent facilities and a level of camaraderie not often found in such surroundings and you truly have the best in the world. This all made for yet another truly memorable visit, never to be forgotten!
