Overall, the resort was nice—though not quite what the website led us to expect. The photos made it feel like a private little oasis, tucked away from daily life. In reality, you can see neighboring houses in most directions, and the sound of leaf blowers and maintenance work was a constant backdrop. Our room (Resort View Double Queen) was lovely. It was spacious, comfortable for two friends on a getaway, and featured a working fireplace plus a large patio with its own gas firepit. This part of the stay was a real highlight. That said, the value for the price simply wasn’t there: Housekeeping: Our room wasn’t cleaned on the third day until turndown service late in the evening. Nowhere were we told that daily service had to be requested, so we’re still not sure whether it was a policy issue or just a delay. Dining at Skyfire: Lunch was disappointing enough that we canceled dinner reservations for the same evening. The salsa was bland, the chicken tortilla soup tasted like tomato sauce, and the pork tacos were unappealing. (It may have been because we arrived toward the end of service, but still unexpected at this level.) Drinks: A walk to the bar for one glass of wine and one cocktail came to over $75. Also, note that a service charge is automatically added to all food and beverage. Pricing Overall: Everything was extraordinarily expensive, even for a 5-star resort. In summary: beautiful setting and a great room, but not the secluded retreat we expected, and the service and dining did not measure up to the cost.

My husband and I enjoyed a fantastic romantic getaway in Santa Fe! Bishop's Lodge was incredible! Such a beautiful property and only a few minutes from the town. Food and drinks were delicious. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. We will be back!!

There were quite a few issues that i didn't expect a high-end place to have. It was almost like they forgot to prep for my arrival. Last minute oops on the small refrigerator, A/C not working was the biggest deal, had it been really hot i would have ask for a refund and went and found a hotel, there is just no excuse for that.

We re east coast gals and chose the southwestern getaway for a girls trip. The property was just lovely. Wide open spaces to roam, hiking trails, deer. The food on property was just wonderful. Staff all knew us by name. We used the Mercedes service for a shopping day in town. Everything was just wonderful.

The resort is beautiful and perfectly maintained, but it was the service that made our stay special. I've never experienced such warm, helpful, thoughtful service -- even at 5 star resorts.

“The Bishop's Lodge Ranch Resort & Spa was fabulous. They are so nice and treat everyone like they are the only people at the resort.”

“The reserved rooms were either shabby or had views that overlooked industrial buildings...for $50 per day we were upgraded to an outstanding villa that was probably worth much more”
