Shake down at the airport
The lodge was lovely …but our experience was very disappointing. After checking out and being told we owed zero, we were paged in the airport after checking in , going through security, and passport control and were met by someone unknown to us “from the lodge” stating we owed 200$ cash before leaving the airport . This fee was to cover a national park fee that was supposed to be covered by our tour. This could have been handled in soooooo many different and appropriate ways but the manner which we were accosted was unacceptable and unthinkable for a mere 200$. It was a hotel error and we were delayed due to their negligence . Any other upscale lodge would have waived this amount and not even thought to interfere with our departure. What a bad note to leave us with and a lasting impression of Zimbabwe.

A time well spent.
A beautiful place staffed by very friendly people. We enjoyed our three night stay there. Food and wine very good. My daughter and I are vegetarian and there were many excellent options.The falls themselves are stunning and we had an excellent tour guide. The rooms all looked out over a water hole which was frequented by dozens, if not hundreds of very large vultures of many varieties. The water hole was visited by elephants at night but it was hard to see them as they went for a swim. Their reflections in the water looked like miniature ancient Viking ships with turned up ends to me.

Amazing lodge with visits by wild animals
This lodge is located inside the Victoria Falls National Park and surrounded by the savanna with visits by wild animals. One evening, an elephant came by near the lodge to eat leaves and branches. It was such a treat! I saw zebras, kudus, impalas, vultures etc. Sunset we saw from the veranda of our room was exceptionally beautiful. I strongly recommend this lodge.

A lovely experience!
A terrific three day stay. The accommodations are clean and comfortable. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Food was good say both two vegetarians and three carnivores! All to be near the watering hole, where elephants dropped by each night at sunset... Of course water is scarce in August!

Truly Exceptional Stay! Lyn, the Guest relations Manager, is a Gem and always ready to meet&exceed our needs. Main restaurant does great pizzas and dishes above expectations. Kudos to the Chef!
