Just got back from a brief five day stay at the Ritz in South Beach. Our typical go to in this area is the Loews, but they were booked so tried the Ritz; excellent experience. While a "fancier" clientele (it's the Ritz after all), the customer service stood out. Every employee was super nice and friendly, and went out of their way to provide awesome service. The pool area is great, with plenty of chairs, so never needed to "get their early to save chairs" (pet peeve), even though it was spring break. We usually would rent a cabana but I don't think it's worth it at the Ritz - they just have an elevated platform or a kind of lame private cabana option for shade/privacy but all the chairs have an umbrella nearby. Their designated beach area is nice and spacious, your stay gets you 2 beach chairs + umbrella (but not if windy) per room daily. Food offering is so-so for both pool and beach. The gym is pretty good for a hotel - Smith machine, 2-3 benches, dumbells to 50lbs, cable machine, several weight machines, 3 pelotons, 5 treadmills, 2 rowers, and 3-4 ellipticals. Only con is we had a city view room facing Collins Ave, and there must have been a club or bar across the street pumping loud music every night from 11p onwards. If you're a light sleeper you should opt for a room facing any other way.

Average rooms, particularly bathrooms. Complacent service often . Cynical charging. Cleanliness variable.

We have had a fantastic time here so far All of the staff is amazing to deal with. Ricardo at the beach was very welcoming and attentive. And Jeff and Michael were also very great and awesome to deal with. Would highly recommend staying here and utilizing their beach and pool areas. Just

Was here for a wedding. Gorgeous hotel. Room was immaculate with great views of the ocean. Great service. The staff are all at the standby ready to help. A special shout out to Caleb the beach concierge who went above and beyond - I had forgotten to ask for late checkout and was at the beach when I realized it was checkout time. Caleb quickly made a couple of phone calls but the managers were at a meeting so he ran all the way back to the hotel and personally made sure to get me the late checkout so I could stay at the beach. In this day and age, where there are so many luxury choices available, it’s the personal touch that makes the difference.
