Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun

We stayed for 10 nights at secrets Maroma for our honeymoon. We can honestly say it was faultless! Perfect hotel, room, pool and beach. But the staff at this hotel really make it! A massive shoutout to Alfonso our concierge on building 14. He did everything to make sure our experience was perfect, he was helpful, friendly and went that extra mile to ensure we were looked after. The entertainment team, waiters, housekeeping, reception staff… everyone was just the nicest staff we have ever come across in a hotel. Thank you Maroma, we will cherish our memories of our time here forever!

This was our first time in Mexico, and we wanted something special for our 30th anniversary. We chose Secrets Maroma because it was a little more remote than other resorts and has about 415 rooms in total. First, the property itself is stunning, and the beach took our breath away. The buildings (or blocks as they're called) are not tall, and it's a very pleasant stroll between buildings to the beach or to the main lobby where most of the restaurants, gift shops, etc., are located. Check-in was easy, and while our room wasn't ready (we arrived at 10am), we were able to use the resort right away and they texted me when our room was ready. There is a sales pitch for the Unlimited Vacation Club. As we were there for 7 days and the incentives for just listening were appealing, we did participate. It was over breakfast and we had to eat anyway. They will respect your "no" should you not wish to do it, but just listening to the presentation got us some great perks. We also did not upgrade to preferred status/rooms as it was quite pricey. I do not feel our experience lacked anything by this choice. We were in block 15, so halfway to everywhere and it was perfect for us. It was a partial ocean view, but we really couldn't see much of it from the 2nd floor. Totally okay with us though; the room was gorgeous and our lanai overlooked the beautiful grounds. Restaurants were quite good with plenty of options. We found the house wines from Chile to be quite pleasant so did not purchase any bottles as we found those to be way out of our price point comfort zone. Breakfast at the World Café was consistently phenomenal with so many options. Portofino was our favorite restaurant for dinner, but the special night events like Mexico Night had fresh buffet options by the pool which we thoroughly enjoyed, too. And every day for lunch, they had food set up as a buffet as well. Care was taken to ensure appropriate temperatures for food, and the staff rotated ice or heat as needed. We did not have any digestive issues related to fix quality, simply over indulgence (the pharmacia has Pepto for that, haha.) Next, I really need to mention some of the staff. Our trip was made EXCEPTIONAL by the staff working there. Alan, our block 15 concierge, Roberto who took care of us for breakfasts at the World Café, Josef who helped at breakfast and at the lunch buffets, Roger from World Café, Wilberth the beach staff, and Carmen from the lobby bar. These are the names I remember. The activities staff were all engaging with plenty of stuff to keep us entertained, and the nightly shows were cheesy but fun and very well executed. The pace of the resort is a little more laid back and I completely appreciated that. When you arrive, the staff tells you, "Welcome home!" And by the end of our stay, it felt like it. We will definitely be back to Secrets Maroma.

We went with my husbands Company and loved it. The service was amazing, everyone greeted when we walked by. They went over and above to make sure our stay was amazing. Our Personal Concierge Roger Arroyo was absolutely awesome. He greated us every time we walked passed his desk, always asking if everything was good if we needed anything. I can not say enough great things about Roger!! Thank you for making our stay wonderful. The resort was very pretty and very clean. Food was good and the beach was beautiful! We will def be back.

Once again, we had an amazing time at Maroma and will be back really soon. The grounds, staff, food, drinks and hospitality always go above and beyond. We are so thankful we had an epic trip and that was made possible by several people, granted everyone we encountered were awesome, but there were a few standouts. Sergio: Portofino: he made a yummy smoked old fashioned, he was also very upbeat and entertaining during our multiple dining experiences there. Carlos: Preferred Breakfast and Seaside Lunch: very friendly, always smiling, and always on the move. He cruised around those restaurants to make sure all of his guests were taken care of. Edgar: Preferred Bar @ lunch time, Rendezvous, Manatees: loved his energy, whether it was the start of the day or the end he was always smiling and just had overall good vibes Angel: Preferred Bar, Beach Club, Manatees: he made us specialty shots that were just delicious. He was very good and remembering what we ordered as well, it is small details like that that just make a feel just a wee bit special Luis: Mediterranean and Mexican Buffet nights, Mardi Gras Dinner/show: very attentive server with all of our encounters with him. I never once had to search for him. He was always on top of his service Freddy: Market Cafe Breakfast: amazing personality, very friendly and knowledgeable about the events that are taking place at the resort for the day. Unfortunately, we did not get to encounter him until closer to the end of our trip, but we will for sure be sure to look for him on our next trip. He and his partner Alejandro made a feel very special on our last day which we really appreciated. Alejandro: Market Cafe Breakfast: he was on top of his service, always make sure our mimosa's stayed full and was great talking with him as well. Carmen: Rendezvous at night: she is just overall amazing. I went and saw her almost every night because she is so personable and really good at her job. She is attentive and aware. She is so kind and was easy to chat with as well. Jessica: Rendezvous at night: very sweet and attentive, enjoyed getting to know her as well. Rodrigo: Head of Food and Beverage: we saw him almost every single day and he for sure put his time in to make sure everything is perfect for the guests. He really does what he can do go above and beyond. Juan: Head Chef: truly an amazing leader and chef. Grateful we were able to meet him. Hector, Omar, Sebastian, Leo, Alexus, Jose Juan, and Mauricio: Entertainment Staff: each one of these individuals added a lot to our trip. We try to get involved in several activities and this team really knows how to keep the energy alive and going. They bust their butts to make sure guests are getting the most out of their vacation. They took time to get to know us and would do their best to find us every day even if it was just to say hi. They also did something very special for us which just put this trip over the top and exceeded our expectations again! All in all, the entire team deserves a pat on the back, just certain ones stuck out a little more for us and know that when we go back we will have the same amazing experiences.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this resort! From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable — warm, welcoming, and attentive without ever being overbearing. It really set the tone for a relaxing and rejuvenating getaway. The grounds were beautiful and immaculately maintained, with lush greenery, vibrant flowers, and palm trees swaying in the ocean breeze. The beach was pristine with soft white sand and crystal-clear blue waters, perfect for lounging under a palapa or taking a refreshing swim. The poolside bar and swim-up service made it effortless to enjoy the sunshine with a refreshing drink in hand. It truly felt like every little detail was designed to help us unwind and soak up the atmosphere. Whether we were enjoying an elegant dinner, exploring the beautiful beach, or just relaxing poolside, everything about this trip was exactly what we were looking for. We can’t wait to come back!
