If your tropical dreams involve having a tiki drink in hand at all times, Valentin Imperial Maya does not disappoint. Guests can while away the days seaside on the wide, half-mile-long Playa del Secreto or float down a meandering pool almost that long – in peace, since the resort is adults-only. Roomy suites outfitted in creamy neutrals have marble floors and a hydrotherapy tub for two. At night, a choice of eight restaurants and 11 bars keep options interesting.

This was our first time here. What a beautiful resort. We came with friends that it was their 6th time. And it did not disappoint. Certainly hope to be back. Highly recommended. Well priced a well.

Didn’t get towels refreshed upon asking for them. Service was great around the pool, and at the restaurants. Food was excellent.

Golden superior room beautiful location overlooking pool. Housekeeping and room service outstanding. Entertainment team provided fun shows, exercise, and live music. Yoga, bike tour, and aquazumba class very good.

Our second visit - normally a Secrets/Excellence Resort user. Ratings out of 10 Check in = 9/10, pretty smooth, no up sell, you get a number and wait a couple of mins with a cool drink, they did switch us from a ground floor to 3rd floor Silver Suite. Grounds: 9/10, clean and well maintained Room: 10/10, room 2310, Silver, super clean, maintained each day, and cleaned before 1400 hrs each day (other resorts could learn from this). Beautiful modern room. I have to mention the great cleaning and turn down each day - WOW -room completed before noon each and every day. Pool: 9/10, main pool was as expected, smaller Silver quiet pool was perfect. Beach: 5/10, not a resort issue, weed is weed and is not going away, we had red flags each day so no swimming. (if a clear quiet weed free beach is what you require - go to the islands). Note you have to swim if able in the marked area only. Service/Staff: 10/10, accommodating and efficient, no issues. Small inconsistencies in service with several restaurants. After the main is served - ask if everything is as expected. Of note service in the Italian and Mexican was magic. Food: 10/10, excellent restaurants, great presentation and taste (offer pagers for all restaurants, currently not all have them). You may be required to wait an hour for a table. Coffee shop was fantastic, I found the meals on this trip had improved. Drinks: 9/10, they seem to utilize top shelf, no issues Spa/Gym: 5/10 is for the gym, this area still needs some love, small and pretty much an after thought. I still suggest a wellness area, dedicated Yoga area, maybe get rid of the silver shop and add a wellness/spa shop selling yoga clothes/wellness items etc. The resort promotes health and the environment - Yoga and wellness is a good fit. Dedicate a yoga area (not the beach or the gym), maybe use the covered wedding area in the center of the resort. Entertainment: N/A, did not go, the main plaza did have several bands that we enjoyed. We would return - esp if i could use the ocean and the beach. PS, the lobby is amazing - maybe a piano or quiet music at night and serve drinks.....
