Phaea Blue, Elounda, Crete

Extraordinary. The food was amazing. The rooms are unbelievably large and beautifully appointed. Every detail is thought of in advance. The staff is beyond warm and friendly. They are knowedgeable and welcoming. The beach is fantastic.

Day one: Arrived and gasped at our elegant suite. Every detail is exquisite. three showers, 2 shower heads in one, lovely shampoo, etc, loofas, beautiful bathtub looking out over the sea. Day two:’We had such an EXCELLENT day!! The beach is gorgeous, the staff couldn’t be kinder, lunch at the blue door was fresh and delicious. Then I took a nap in the shade on our terrace, a dip in our private pool and an outdoor shower. We are all now outside the lobby enjoying the sunset. Phaea Blue is heaven. Day Three: another splendid day! We had a two hour breakfast on the terrace, then hopped on the boat to explore Spinalonga. George was an excellent tour guide—we are a tough crowd, so that is a huge compliment! We then cruised to a secluded cove and all swam around the boat. When we climbed aboard again, there was a gorgeous lunch waiting for us, with jammy figs, cretan cheese, sandwiches and plenty of coke zero. We are now having down time before dinner at the Blue Door. It has all been so good and so fast—I will reluctantly leave Phaea tomorrow morning. This hotel is spectacular!

PHĀEA Blue is a wonderful hotel. Very stylish with nice rooms: neat and practical with comfortable beds, nice terras and private pool. Room service was on all levels. The whole staff are friendly and helpful. Warm and efficient reception at the check in. Good location with private beach and villages nearby. Excellent food served by a top team. The Greek cuisine at its best. The entire management was always present or available. The front manager, Lina Stratsiou, had drawn up a program of activities adapted to our wishes. Diners at the Antheos and the Blue Door, wine tasting in the garden, a farmer-to-table evening in the organic garden , private boat tour with bbq (the best bbq we ever had😉), visit of Spinalonga island. Thanks to the whole staff everything went smoothly and enjoyable!!

Another amazing stay in this heavenly place. The atmosphere of this hotel is truly unique and the hotel design, lush gardens in which the rooms and bungalows are hidden and the beach makes it unparalleled all around. The gardens make all the atmosphere so quiet and peaceful and the interior design is beautiful. What makes it even more is the team which is the same year on year and makes you feel like coming home. Many thanks to Kallioppi from Guest Services who was amazing in accommodating our stay to make it great, the concierge team who helped organise a surprise on arrival and of course the beach club team Voula, Ilias and Stavros who year on year are like seeing family.
