About the Hotel

Rising majestically above the 600 acre beach front resort of Anse Chastanet, Jade Mountain Resort on St. Lucia’s south-western Caribbean coastline is a cornucopia of organic architecture celebrating St. Lucia’s stunning scenic beauty. Architect owner Nick Troubetzkoy has expanded upon his philosophy of building in harmony with Caribbean nature in his creation of Jade Mountain St. Lucia. The bold architectural design – individual bridges leading to exceptional infinity pool sanctuaries and rugged stoned-faced columns reaching towards the sky – makes Jade Mountain St. Lucia one of the Caribbean’s most mesmerizing resort experiences.

Reviews for Jade Mountain

Worthy splurge for a special occasion

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Resort - absolutely gorgeous!!! The architecture is inspired, grounds are well kept. Overall service was excellent. - pretty much always called for a shuttle to/from the beach (just a 5 min wait) but the walk down was not strenuous - we are pretty low maintenance … our biggest asks of the domos were asking them to call the shuttle and send ice. By the middle of the trip, our domo got us a small cooler and kept it filled with ice which we very much appreciated. - definitely go to the Terrace above Jade Mountain club (1) to watch the sunset and (2) to stargaze Beaches - we came in with low expectations of the beach based on what we read but were pleasantly surprised. - Plenty of huts, towel guy was always at the ready to set up chairs for you, flag to put out if you want service (and staff who responded very promptly). Basically, the beach service was impeccable! - some entry points to the water were rocky, but not everywhere - We preferred Anse Mamin - flatter beach, more quiet, great burgers - there are some day trippers who come into each beach but they don’t overwhelm except for the snorkel by the dock Room - this is the reason to splurge for Jade Mountain and the Sanctuary delivered - we had moon sanctuary JD3 and it was perfect! Perfect view of the Pitons from anywhere in the room. (Maybe there is a room that gets Pitons and sunrise or sunset but I doubt it). We even heard the live music from Jade Mountain Club each night until 9;30 - lovely! - the mini fridge is stocked and that’s included - restocking easily available of the items you want for a cost (we didn’t so I don’t know what it costs) - daily bento boxes were great - though make sure you tell your domo your preferences not just allergies. We had things that neither of us eat that I’m sure they would have swapped out) - we didn’t see any bugs and temps were perfect (early Feb) - it is a completely open layout, though bathroom area is elevated for visual privacy - as for the open end of the room - one time I saw another guest from the edge of the pool (she was above). And once or twice we heard other guests, but mostly peace and tranquility Activities - Chocolate Sensory Tasting - free chocolate tastes with a little education - worth doing if you’re into chocolate but wouldn’t rework your fay for it - Discover Chocolate - Make your own chocolate bar and watch Bon bons being made. I thought it was definitely worth it - for the education on how to make chocolate and what you get to taste there and bring home. Husband would pass if not included in your package. - Jazzy Sunset cruise - 2.5 hour boat ride with great butlers, nice music, premium snacks and excellent drink service. If you’ve done another boat trip, could be ok to skip but make sure you get out on the water at least once - Snorkling - grab a mask and fins from the dive shop at least once. The area by the floating docks was the best (once we got thru the low visibility silty water). Glad we did not schedule diving. - Sugar beach with Solomon Tours - pleasantly surprised. Did the Superman snorkel on the way (drift snorkel so easy but not exciting) and the snorkel off the beach (strong current, not great viewing). Beach itself had free chairs (though not a ton of capacity so you may or may not get them). Solomon provided waters, beers and rum punch in a cooler in the beach which was nice. - Celestial Terrace dinner - it was nice but not worth the set up fee (you pay that plus the regular charges for dinner and have to order at least 2 courses). Just go up to stargaze after dinner. Transportation - I can’t imagine driving the road to the resort. So narrow and winding. Hire a driver. We went with Marc’s Taxi service throughout the trip and were happy with them (and spent way less than we would have using the resort service. Dining - did not do the meal plan. Couldn’t figure out how the math would work for us and we made the right call when we looked at the bill after. We typically just eat lunch and dinner (and usually only eat half of what restaurants serve) and we prefer better than bottom shelf liquor so we brought a couple of bottles and stopped at a grocery store for some mixers - went offsite twice for sunset meals and would recommend both. Rabot at Hotel Chocolat (food and drinks there was amazing) and Dasheene at Ladera (view and service were top notch) - lunches on the beach except for the last day we had lunch at the restaurant at beach level which was excellent. The menu at Anse Mamin seemed to have more options though maybe it was just better suited to our tastes - dinners on property were at Jade Mountain Club except one night we did the beach restaurant for dinner as well (Indian fusion). It was lovely and the food was quite good. - Ambiance at Jade Mountain Club was great but the food was just ok for the price (we don’t eat fish so maybe we missed out on the best items). And service was not as attentive as I expected- we still found ourselves having to look for our waiter for more water, another drink, or the check. - it’s a pain to go off property (it takes so long to get down the hill) so I don’t know that I would go out a third night but I would try the other Anse Chastanet restaurant

Excellent food at the restaurant

This establishment also has a restaurant and we had dinner there. It was modern fusion cuisine with local influences and the food was excellent.

Amazing views!

Absolutely amazing experience! We stayed in the Galaxy sanctuary which had stunning views of the Pitons along with partial views of Soufriere Bay and Anse Chastanet. The service was excellent and the butlers were responsive with all of needs. The room was spacious and well appointed. There were mosquito nets around the bed to ensure our comfort and there were multiple fans available though we didn't need them during our stay. A truly luxurious hotel experience!

Luxury Redefined by Nature

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We have indulged luxury resorts around the world, and this is our new favorite. The rooms, which they call sanctuaries, are exactly that...a sanctuary. The absence of a fourth wall, replaced by an infinity pool that opens to a spectacular view of the Pitons (Mountains) is breath taking. It's like living in an art installation. The service is world class, with many staff members greeting us by name during our five days there. The food is exquisite, and the countless little surprises and amenities will have you writing home about them. Simply outstanding experience!! Although not great for mobility challenged guests, it is highly recommended for the adventurer seeking luxury. Teddy, our butler gets a special nod, too.

A unique paradise located in the most beautiful island with great people

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We could never describe in words our outstanding experience. The same way the descriptions on any website or travel book could never reflect how beautiful and authentic are Jade Mountain and St Lucia. We need to thank Nick and the Troubetzkoy Family for their vision of a sustainable hospitality integrated within the local community with a (definitely) differentiated view of what hospitality and sustainability should be. It was a dream for us to visit that started 14y ago for me and my wife (to visit) and we must confess that all of you Jade Mountain team, the venue and the service, really exceeded our expectations. The quality of the service and of the food, and the integration with a high service is absolutely unique.
