The Essque Zalu is a lovely hotel with one of the best salt water pools in Nungwi, the view is breath taking and the lobby and restaurant are nicely setup, you can really see the effort and thought put into the organisation. The rooms were spacious with large beds and good amenities and a comfortable shower and bed. I would rate this hotel a 4.5 stars rather than a 5 stars as the staff is very helpful and friendly but it isn't a typical high luxury experience where the staff cater to your every whim. The food is a step above from what you get at most hotels however so in the details it does show. If you want a very nice quiet pool, good food and a comfortable stay at not eye watering prices the Essque Zalu is a very good option to have.

**An Incredible Stay at Essque Zalu Zanzibar** We had an incredible stay at Essque Zalu. From the moment we arrived, the staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming and accommodating, and they genuinely made us feel at home. Our room was spotless, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was beautifully maintained. The shower was particularly impressive! Overall, the service and experience were top-notch, and we loved every day of our stay. The only area where we feel the hotel may be missing a trick is its food and beverage offering. The property could benefit from a few upgrades, along with a more exciting and varied food and drinks menu. With some attention in this department, the experience could be taken to an entirely new level. That said, we had a wonderful time and would happily recommend Essque Zalu to anyone visiting Zanzibar.
