Essque Zalu Zanzibar

All the staff were cheerful and pleasant! The lodging was fully equipped with everything we needed, so I was able to stay comfortably for three days. The performances during mealtimes were impressive, with something different prepared each day. What stood out the most was the dinner on the last day, held on the second floor of the main building, where a live band created an atmosphere like that of a fine dining restaurant The infinity pool and the fun programs are also unforgettable memories.

Your hotel is ideally positioned giving rise to stunning sunrises and sunsets, easily accessible to Nungwi village and offering tranquil terraces to enjoy the turquoise shores. We loved staying with you and were really well looked after by all your staff. Of particular note was the dining experience and attention to detail to meet our specific dietary needs. As guests, myself and friend both have coeliac disease requiring a strict gluten free diet and a further requirement of being vegetarian. Chef Abraham’s professionalism and dedication to ensure that we had a great culinary experience was exemplary. During the evening mealtime, he personally took us around the buffet signposting us to food we could eat as well as spoiling us with bespoke flavourful delicious gluten free dishes which demonstrated his culinary skills to perfection. Chef Flora was equally professional and supportive quickly making up extremely tasty curries and always on hand to answer questions with her bright smile and cheer. On my friend son’s birthday, Chef Abraham even baked a gluten free cake for us so that we could celebrate and enjoy, even though her son was not with us in Zanzibar. Highly recommend for relaxation, food, excellent service and well equipped spacious rooms.

We booked this hotel through an agent. We were very surprised by the quality of the hotel. The rooms are big, clean, maintained and comfortable. The restaurant is well organized and the food is great. The staff of this hotel is very friendly, kind and seek to help in every small detail. We especially want to mention Mrs. Amina for all she has done to us. She took care of all we have mentioned but with a special touch - she is an outstanding person and real professional with people. Unfortunately our daughter got sick and we felt that we are in the best hands. Thanks Essque Zalu for a this special vacation.

It was a good experience. A very calm and beautiful place. The Jet bar offers nice sunset and sunrisw views. All staff are very welcome especially Mr. Paulo
