Reviews for Rancho Pacifico

Already Told My Friends to Go!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We had a fantastic stay at Rancho Pacifico! This was the prettiest place that I have ever stayed! The Tucan Treehouse was a great room, nestled right in the forest and felt so private and secluded, while being steps away from the hotel’s amenities (beautiful pool, great restaurant and bar, fitness room, spa, and hiking trails right on site!). Getting to the hotel is a bit of an adventure, 4x4 is definitely required! The road is steep and rocky, but IMO it only added to the experience! The concierge and booking team is wonderful. They were super helpful in planning the rest of our trip and excursions, as well as for local advice and things to do in town. We ate dinner here each night and every meal was completely different and very good. I have already suggested this hotel to three of my friends!

BEST. PLACE. EVER.

Ranch Pacifico far surpassed all our expectations. The four of us have traveled throughout the world and we all love service, personal attention and very fine food. There were 14-16 guests and 24 staff - that's incredible! The bar tenders, cooks, waiters and housekeeping staff were all so above par. The food was among the highlights for all 4 of us. Every meal and every beverage was unsurpassed, even from some of the Michelin starred restaurants we have visited. Rancho Pacifico is well worth the money and adventure it takes to get there. As much as we like to experience new places, we will definitely return to Rancho Pacifico.

perfect

My husband and I visited Rancho Pacifico for my 50th birthday celebration and had the most wonderful time. The accommodations- in particular the treehouse villas- were luxurious and absolutely beautiful. As an architect, I was very impressed with the design of the entire property and attention to detail. The food and amenities (including the spa) were superb, and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. RP offers the perfect blend of privacy and community. We enjoyed meeting new friends at the pool and bar, but also, had plenty of time to ourselves to relax and enjoy the beauty of this incredible natural setting. The concierge helped to arrange activities including horseback riding, fishing, and an ATV tour (all of which were wonderful) and provided the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation. I cannot recommend RP highly enough and look forward to our next visit!

Stunning setting

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

There are few places we have stayed in over 45 years of travelling this world that could compare with Rancho Pacifico, the off road up to the hotel didn’t quite prepare us for the stunning setting that greeted us at reception. The view from reception and the restaurant was just awesome, staff then took us to possibly the most stylish and beautiful set room overlooking a pristine rainforest we had ever seen. The staff , service and food added to a truly unforgettable stay.

Rancho Pacifico is magical. This was one of the best experiences we've ever had, and their team goes above and beyond to ensure you have not just an amazing stay at Rancho Pacifico but an amazing experience in Costa Rica. We had a party of five, consisting of my husband and I (late 50s), our 36-year-old son, and two 19-year-olds. Our Villa: We stayed in the Whale's Tail Villa. This villa was beautiful, spacious and the perfect place to get some rest and relaxation. The beds were so comfortable and there were a variety of pillows. The bathrooms are spacious and the living room was a comfortable place to unwind. The masterpiece is the outdoor space! Every room has a patio and the views are stunning. The jungle sounds were the perfect background for the ultimate R&R. Anytime we wanted to go from the villa down to the restaurant, spa or pool the staff were quick to send a vehicle or it was a short walk. The Food: The food was amazing! I was expecting the food to be good based upon all the reviews, the reviews don't lie, it was absolutely fabulous. The creativity and flavors were truly fabulous. We'd listen to our waiter describe the meal and you'd think "okay, not sure how this goes together but we'll see" and then you'd just be blown away by the flavor combinations and excellence. We have a few picky(er) eaters, and everyone was so excited to go to the restaurant. One night we ate dinner at a high-end restaurant down in town and we all agreed we wished we had stayed at the resort and eaten there. Added to the amazing food, you have a stunning setting and personal service that is outstanding. The bar tenders make some incredible drinks and are guaranteed to make you laugh and smile! The Resort and Grounds: It is just beautiful in every way. The facility is immaculate and very well maintained. The pool and hot tub were beautiful, and every aspect of the design is centered around making you comfortable and relaxed. My one regret is that I didn't go to the Spa. I heard other guests provide great reviews and I'm so disappointed that I didn't get in. We did do the hike to the on-site waterfall. It's beautiful and a decent workout. The Staff: There are seriously more people serving you than there are guests! Our every need was attended to. The staff are amazing and a lot of fun. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and to help in any way they could. From arranging transportation, helping us coordinate excursions, making sure we had breakfast to go on days with early activities, and anticipating our needs before we knew we had them. What I Would Do Differently: I'm a planner and I felt the need to research and coordinate many of our own excursions outside of the resort. Save yourself the time and effort! The excursions offered through the resort are excellent. You get the best tour operators, the best service and it's highly competitive pricing. Work with them to arrange your tours, you won't be disappointed. We also arranged our transportation from SJO and then up to Guanacaste through the resort. It was perfect! We split our time between Rancho Pacifico and then went up north to Guanacaste for the last 4 days of our vacation. We were worried that the younger members of our group would want some nightlife. We were wrong. We all wished we had stayed at Rancho Pacifico the entire time. There were plenty of activities to keep us busy, the beaches were great and it was easy to go down into town if you wanted nightlife. 1000% recommend Rancho Pacifico. We will be back!

What an incredible vacation—what an extraordinary hotel! Thanks to Rancho Pacifico for an unforgettable experience—the service, the room, the food, the staff—all of it—wonderful!
-Anderson Cooper, CNN

Rancho Pacifico is paradise on earth. From the moment you arrive, you feel as if you've been invited into someone's home—only that home is at the top of a mountain, in the clouds, with breathtaking views of the beach and rainforests below. I would come back every year if I could.

Tranquility, serenity, bliss and peaceful restfulness await in the lush green rainforest while feeling free from the hassles of the 'real world'... Everyone is joyful, friendly and helpful.

Thanks to Rancho Pacifico for paradise on the mountain & for sharing their lovely Costa Rican ways. I loved my visit. My dreams were intense and fiery—not to be easily forgotten.

Rancho Pacifico is a sublime experience. Breathtaking scenery, fabulous accommodations, attentive staff, creative culinary, stimulating spa treatments, and delightful hosts all combine for a unique and memorable adventure in paradise! The fishing is good off the coast and the hotel staff goes out of their way in every way to ensure that you will have a memorable and maximum experience. There are more than enough outdoor activities to fill your day in Uvita and Dominical, the Costa Ricans are very friendly and the staff at Rancho Pacifico can handle all arrangements. This is the most unique and special hotel that I have ever visited and the attention you get from the owners and the staff is indeed world class.
