Perched on the cliffs of the Sorrento Peninsula along the famous "Amalfitana" coast road, find one of Italy's leading grand hotels, the Excelsior Vittoria. A beautiful villa built in 1834, Excelsior Vittoria offers stunning views of Mount Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples, matched only by the beauty of the hotel's 5-acre private garden, filled with citrus and olive orchards that surround an outdoor pool and fill the air with sweet fragrance. Gracious terraces lead down to a pier in the harbor below where guests can take a boat to explore the coastline of the peninsula, or take a trip to Capri, Naples and Ischia. Relax in Mediterranean style, enjoying the spa, restaurants, bars, pool and park grounds of this historic hotel.

I am rarely able to relax on vacations but the service at this hotel is so superior that it allows me to check out, not think and relax. Their staff thinks of everything so I can relax and be in the moment with my family and friends. It was here that I was able to perfect the art of sitting at a table and enjoying a meal for 3 hours - a very foreign concept for this American who works 120 hours a week and eats every meal at a desk. The food is outstanding and every morning we got to experience the most incredible breakfast buffet under the most magnificent hand painted ceiling. The owners do a great job continually improving the property, every detail is thought of. You can feel the warmth from the moment you arrive and I promise you will never want to leave this gorgeous property because the staff will make you feel like you are at home.

We had an amazing week at this fantastic hotel. It really is 5 star luxury all the way from booking to departure. The staff were superb always smiling and friendly. Breakfast was fantastic with a huge choice and excellent service. The rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels and linens. We ate one night at the Terrazza Bosquet restaurant which was a real treat for us and was really superb. Check out for us was brilliant as they allowed us to keep the room until we left at 4.30, although I doubt they would be able to do that in peak season. We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating our golden wedding here and could not have asked for more.

Lovely hotel in a central location, which is beautifully kept with manicured gardens. The hotel itself is quite grand and steeped in history. The decor is cosy with lots of antiquities around every corner, and it is spotless, welcoming and very comfortable indeed. Breakfast is a true delight with something for everyone. My favourite was the table with the endless cakes, and more importantly a smiley welcome every morning on arrival. Stunning views too from your breakfast table. There is a Michelin starred restaurant there which is both a gastronomical feast, and a visual delight. Staff though Italian, explain each course so well in English, with such attention to detail, describing the ingredients very clearly. This restaurant is a MUST DO !!!!! If I could offer one tip, I would say spend a little extra for a sea view. We were in room 244 and it was a most beautiful room, with stunning views. Lots of complimentary goodies in the fridge which is so rare nowadays, so this was very welcome and appreciated. Huge shout out to the fabulous Tiziana, who works tirelessly to ensure a great stay is had by all, to Josie, Mauro, Francesco ( both of them !) Federica, Carmine, Pasquale & to the housekeepers. The staff work hard to make the stay enjoyable, to help and assist and they do a great job. See you again soon GHEV, and thank you again for a very enjoyable week x

My wife and I had cocktails on the veranda overlooking the Bay of Naples just before and during sunset. We were lucky that the guard at the beginning of the long walkway from the Piazza Tasso let us by since we did not have a reservation and were not staying at the hotel. I ordered the Viandante sul mare di nebbia - quite possibly the best cocktail I have ever had!! My wife thoroughly enjoyed her drink as well.

Stunning hotel. The room was wonderfully decorated, the view from our terrace was lovely. Lucky us to not only have a view of the gardens, but also a side view of the sea. The eye to detail and service was Prim' ordine! Everything from check in to check out was perfezione!
