The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection, Bangkok

Good food. Good atmosphere. Staffs are very friendly and the waiters(Sang and Bris) that take care of our table offer excellent hospitality.

I have stayed at varying Marriott brand hotels for 150 days so far in 2025 and I was very underwhelmed by this hotel. An ok hotel but should not be part of the luxury collection. It needs a full refurb and attention to detail is required. Was however one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in for sometime and got a great nights sleep and hence the 4 rating. Airport collection Airport collection was not great. The sign for the hotel wasn’t professional when compared to the signs of other hotels and raised the flag that this wasn’t going to be the luxury experience. After waiting for c10 mins the airport transfer was a cheap looking mini van and not luxurious. We cancelled the airport drop off as there are better and cheaper options around. Reception On stepping into reception the hotel looked tired and dated. The decor is very dark. There was drilling underway, accept work had to happen but no apology and there was no welcome drink. Also no check in was provided at the executive lounge. Check in however was swift but left underwhelmed. There was also no upgrade provided even though the hotel had availability. This is a perk as an ambassador member and first time not provided in a hotel with availability. First world issue I know and was too tired to make mention during check in. Also around 50% of the time when we went to use a lift it had the baggage trolley in as there isn’t a separate lift which made it a challenge moving around. Room The guest room is as tired, dated and dark as the rest of the hotel. Please paint the dark wood to match the lively grey in the executive lounge. At some point the bathroom taps lost their hot and cold colouring on the top and so they have been painted back on (no issue as means can recycle the tap) but they have done such a poor paint job it looks like a child has done it with their mums nail varnish. In a room for 2 people only one tea bags was given. There was a desk, with mirror above and plugs making it a flexible space as an office and dressing table which is good. The bed was comfortable and was one of the best nights sleep I have had in a hotel for sometime. There was one item that very much annoyed me. In the room we were provided with a chocolate welcome gift (very nice) and with it a welcome card. My husband’s card referred to him as the member when it is actually myself. My card just said welcome. This does not show attention to detail which I would expect from such a hotel. Executive Lounge Very nice and the only area I saw which appears to have been tastefully modernised. It’s light and airy with classic and elegant furniture. There was sparkling cuvee served with breakfast. The English breakfast tea however was not warm and very weak. I asked for a new pot and the same issue. Also there is no salted butter and the food has been out for some time with cold hashbrowns and no salmon remaining/not topped up for the 30 mins I was there. The evening cocktail period is nice with an array of drinks. Warm food appeared limited to one dish but not an issue for ourselves as we were going out for food. Gym Was OK with lots of equipment and a good size space. Both of the cross trainers were however broken and the multi weight machine is not fixed to the floor and so when using a high weight the machine moves which is dangerous. Pool Very dated. Many of the planks on the walkway were crumbling and the sunbeds are not comfortable and have been repainted very poorly. Also there is no menu, QR code or bell at the sunbeds and so you had to go to the bar for service unless you catch a waiter serving someone. Also at THB250++ for a beer which is sold for THB50 in the shop is ridiculous. The area is however very peaceful and captures the sun.

Great time at Rain Tree Café! Khun Sang was amazing. I told her about my friend's birthday (yesterday) and mine (tomorrow), and she surprised us with cakes and the loveliest greetings. Such a sweet gesture!

My friend and I came here for a birthday lunch, hoping for a nice place to catch up and enjoy a good meal. However, the experience exceeded our expectations. The staff surprised us both with a birthday cake, which was such a thoughtful and lovely gesture. We are truly impressed and grateful for making our double birthday celebration so special. Highly recommended!"

Great place which near BTS. The buffet is perfect. clean and nice place for family. Thank you Staff Panida, Best and Bris provids excellent service. Very enjoy here a lot. And we re-visit here forth already. and must come again.
