The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection, Bangkok

We had an excellent stay at Athenee. The staff are absolutely fantastic: friendly, welcoming, and hospitable. As a titanium elite, we were able to check in at the club lounge. The staff took great care at explaining the facilities and amenities of the hotel. Using NUA, we were upgraded to a corner suite. The room is large and spotlessly clean. Although, you can tell that this is not a modern property, everything is very well taken care of. Fantastic breakfast at Rain Forest cafe, special thanks to Meen who took care of us. Also, House of smooth curry is highly recommended for lunch or dinner. As a suggestion, it would be great to see some local dishes at the lounge. Also the lounge chairs by the pool need replacing as they are showing age. Overall, it’s a great choice in Bangkok and I would not hesitate to come back.

Good buffet and great service from Sang

I stayed at The Athenee for the past two weeks while in Bangkok for work. I've stayed at several other hotels throughout Bangkok over the years, but this was by far my best stay. Luxury is in the name for a reason. The hotel itself is beautiful, exceptionally clean, and in a great location. From the moment I arrived, the service stood out. Tar and Chen at the front entrance always greeted me with a smile and made me feel welcome every time I came and went. Heather and the front desk team were also outstanding throughout my stay. I had a late evening flight home, and they graciously allowed me to stay in my room until 7:30 p.m. instead of having to book another night. It's little things like that which separate a great hotel from an exceptional one. The lobby is stunning with its flowers and orchids, and the amenities are excellent. The pool on the fourth floor was always clean, warm, and the perfect place to relax after work. I also made good use of the fitness center, sauna, and steam room almost every day. A special shoutout to Onanong ("On") at the pool. She was always so friendly and attentive, making sure guests had water, fresh fruit, and anything else they needed. One afternoon she even surprised me with a bowl of popcorn while I was relaxing by the pool. It was such a thoughtful gesture and a perfect example of how the staff consistently went above and beyond. Breakfast each morning at Rain Tree Café was one of the highlights of my stay. The selection was incredible, with fresh options from all over the world, and I especially enjoyed the fresh juices made each morning. What impressed me even more was the staff. After only a few days, they already knew my coffee, juice, and egg order and would have everything ready within minutes of me sitting down. That's the kind of service you don't forget. A special thanks to Korn, Somsom (who always made sure I had mango sticky rice), Tida, the woman who made my fresh juice every morning, and everyone else on the breakfast team. You all made every morning something I genuinely looked forward to. My Prestige Room on the 14th floor was spacious, comfortable, and always spotless. Housekeeping did an incredible job every day- huge thanks to Piyaporn. One afternoon I returned to find my clothes neatly folded and a towel elephant waiting on the bed. It was a fun surprise that made me smile. Every evening, turndown service had the room looking perfect again. On my last day, the housekeeping team even gave me a handmade Athenee wreath along with a handwritten note before I left. That was such a thoughtful gesture, and it's something I'll always remember from my stay. The Executive Lounge on the 26th floor was another highlight. The evening food selection, appetizers, and drinks were excellent, and the views over Bangkok were incredible. It was the perfect place to unwind after a busy day. Hinano and the rest of the lounge staff were always welcoming and attentive, and the culinary team deserves recognition as well. The food changed regularly, was always fresh, and was consistently excellent.I would highly recommend The Athenee to anyone visiting Bangkok. The location couldn't be better. It's within walking distance of the U.S. Embassy, Central Embassy, the BTS, Lumphini Park, and plenty of restaurants, shops, and street food. I've stayed at other Marriott properties in Bangkok, but this one stands above the rest. More than anything, it's the people who make this hotel so special. Every staff member I encountered genuinely cared about making guests feel welcome and making their stay memorable. That's not something you can teach, and it's what keeps people coming back. I look forward to returning to Bangkok and staying at The Athenee again. Thank you to everyone who made the past two weeks such an incredible experience.
